Wow, what a fantastic finish! It looks great Marty! Everybody makes mistakes but the effort you went through to keep going and fix the chipped paint - and post the video, when you could have just quit, set it aside and worked on another car is a testament to your dedication and love for your hobby. All of us who enjoy your videos reap the benefits of that. Thanks Marty! All of your videos are such a pleasure to watch. They’re better than prime-time TV.
Beautiful work Marty! The restoration you did on this piece was most satisfying to watch! I truly love your channel and look forward to your future challenges! Thank you for sharing your craft with us!!!
Wonderful work, Marty. I am in awe at your dedication, not only to recreating fiddly parts of tiny models, but also your excellent videography. You've got so good at videoing your work that it looks like watching a BBC documentary or similar professional production. The viewer is never distracted by poor quality video or sound on your programmes and your friendly and relaxed speaking style make them a pleasure to listen to as well as watch.
Outstanding work Marty! Yes, this was certainly worth the wait and the color looks fantastic. I am very impressed with your 3D printing skills and the model looks like it just rolled out of the box. Thanks for taking the time and a lot of effort to produce this tutorial.
When I’ve had a stressful day and get home nothings better than putting my feet up and relaxing watching a Marty video cheers mate you take the stress away
Marty your mechanical aptitude, ability to multi task different skills, and attention to detail is not lost on your viewers. Just simply awesome work in not only bringing these models back to life, you actually improve on the original. Cheers my friend!
Thank you for sharing this with us. The time, effort, innovation and patience you put in to these restorations is much appreciated and a pleasure to watch. I can imagine that Matchbox were very proud of this design......the boys and girls on the production line less so perhaps. Thanks again.
Don't think I have ever seen a scoop like this one before. I do enjoy the fact that you took the time to get the rams done well and it definitely adds to the overall value of the piece.
I've just stumbled across your beautifully filmed restoration videos and they're really great, seeing the toys I played with all those years ago brought back to life. Absolutely delightful.
Excellent job Marty! Well worth the wait. My son and i were quite impressed with the rams you made. The whole thing came out beautiful in our opinions. See you next week!
Marty another stunner, and a great finish. Your attention to detail and the completed finish is outstanding. But could I recommend that toaster in the paper as it might help your paint stripping of awkward corners!! Well done Mate. And to any "harpies" out there who might drip about time schedules, forget it because it's always worth the wait.
Considering what you started with and the problems you had damaging the paint reassembling the wretched thing.......I reckon you worked a miracle on this casting. Champion job Marty......you're right.... the decals look like the worst ever done by Matchbox.
Another amazing restoration there Mr Marty. I hate when I am working on something, finish, get the after shots taken and see numerous flaws I did not see while working suddenly jumping out in the photo. Your true fans don't mind an extra day or week of waiting because we love you and the quality of your videos and not the quantity of videos produced. Thanks for sharing Mike from Texas,Take Memories,Leave Footprints
Marty, I can't believe you fixed this model already. What a fantastic job. You realy must stop to try and bring out two video's a week because it is inpossible. Please keep the pleasure in what you are doing and bring out a lot more video's but at your own pace. We can wait.
Awesome work, big thumbs up 👍🏻🔥🤘🏻 Use super clean it works really awesome on painted plastics like windows, but will also strip crome off of plastic, I use clear floor polish on the windows.
Great work as usual!! Just a couple ideas for you to try if you like. For the axles, find a local welding supply store, or even a local shop, and get different gauges of welding tig wire for aluminum. It will be about the same as the rivets you use, maybe softer depending on the alloy and it is different lengths and diameters. Also to avoid the chipping and wear problems putting it back together, use a low tack painters tape to cover the areas you will be touching to protect the paint underneath until you are ready to unveil the final product. Hope these help a little. Keep up the cool work.
Super job . The rams look real slick. Just the bucket assembly alone is a masterpiece. Primer gray looked like Navy equipment. All in all it is a huge project completed.
I found a $20 bill in the street when I was a kid (mid-'60's) in second grade. My parents told me that they would wait and see if anyone claimed it, and if not, I could buy something at John's hobby shop and put the rest in the bank - no one claimed it, and I bought an orange MATCHBOX Hatra loader... it was my pride and joy!
Very impressed with the way you were able to make the two rams with little information to rely on. Great job on both the rams and the rest of the restoration. Little side note, you and I have the same tendency to be overly critical of our own work.

Really good restoration. You have really great ideas!
Of all your videos I have watched. I would go as far to say that this was probably one of your most difficult makeovers.
Considering what you started with and the problems you had damaging the paint reassembling the wretched thing.......I reckon you worked a miracle on this casting.
Champion job Marty......you're right.... the decals look like the worst ever done by Matchbox.
Well worth the wait, another great job. We generally learn more from those little difficult jobs than the easier ones.
