I am literally sobbing at my kitchen table listening to this. Thank you for sharing.
this is the best ted talk I've seen to date on being autistic. I want to send it to everyone I know. thank you
Well this makes me emotional
Her friends and family sound incredible. While I think that it sounds unrealistic, it would be great if people did this.
I once read in a book that you treat everyone equally by not treating them the same. It does not always apply, but here it does.
As someone who is incredibly sensitive to touching or surprises, it pains me to say that people use it against me knowing I will have a fright. Constantly.
Ohhhhh... That sounds horrible! Truly! I am so sorry that those people don't know any better!
May you find new people who love you well. You deserve people who see you, honor your needs, and appreciate you for who you are.
you will need to train yourself to punch them in the throat as instinctive reaction to them doing it "for fun". i know, it's shocking to say or even think, but i bet they will no longer enjoy being "playful" with you like that.
Im trying to watch a ted talk everyday to see what i will learn and obeserve how i will change within a month or a year . I am learning so much from this ted talk about autism
What a phenomenal talk, thank you for making me feel seen ❤️
why did it take me until the end to notice the empty audience lol love that
Hahaha I didn't, but covid measures
Also be understanding if people act or do "weird" things, some of us are uncomfortable having special arrangements made, and will quietly adjust etc using earplugs in loud places.
Basically, be a good person with an open mind
OMG we have the same birthday. O was diagnosed in April at age 57
Thank you so much for this TED talk ❤️
You being you has helped me. Thank you!
Thanks for this!👌🏾
One of the most beautiful talks, thank you
I took a test to determine if I had Autism and there were I think 4 sections and everything was in the range to receive the diagnosis except one. And the one was only one point over the range. With that being said I still believe I have it I could've masked it well, the test might be flawed or the examiner. I have all of the warning signs or symptoms. I can't receive any help because I technically don't qualify for the diagnosis.
Maybe you can get a second opinion?
Nobody cares
