- Is this my most epic lift surf so far? I surf an Alimak Hek climbing lift. These are totally EPIC.
Which of my lift surfs do you think is the best? That 2 m/s Express was awesome, so was the O&K, so was the 90s Schindler, and the Otis 2000 in the translucent shaft was daring, or is it this climbing lift. Which one is your favourite?

Everyone will probrably think you are an engineer performing a routine inspection.
VFC must be variable frequency control
For the inspect modes vpc means verify and that means it is in normal operation just no door opening and prog means programming the open times of doors etc

Sad, lucky you. All the way from Australia and they're all not working. It's hard to tell if they have power or not though. I knew I should've brought my keys with me.
I went to ride these lifts on a recent trip to London after seeing this film. 2 out 4 were working then.
The one thing I personally quite like is that the only wires that have to tranfer between levels for registering are for the call buttons and for the connections to the main power supply

lol the rush of people being out there and trying not to get caught..
it's like being a crackhead but with elevators..
U now should surf:
- a twin lift or a double deck lift;
- a lift that goes 3 m/s or more;
- a gated lift;
- a lift with no logic (manually controlled);
- a swing door lift;
- a paternoster;
- an unmordenized old lift from the 60s, 70s or 80s
+kriskolo2013 Paternosters are multiple lifts in one shaft so it would be impossible to surf.

+kriskolo2013 With the twin lift I don't know how inspection mode works. Will the other lift keep going as normal. I would have to do some experiments first. It would be very risky, I will see what I can do.
I have no idea how to surf a paternoster! I don't think it is even possible. Also the cars get very close on the turn around.

Sadly the one at Salford Quays isnt used anymore because they have shut the viewing platform
I see it has a PLC battery warning light on it. I bet the "PROG." selection on that switch puts the PLC into program mode.

Hey Ben, have you heard of the new Inclinator/Funicular lifts at Greenford Station! They are epic. I went rode it today!
Honestly if you acted normal and calm while being on the lift you probably could have honestly Been on that lift and no one would have thought anything of it. In all honesty if people heard you I feel like they would be happy you were actually working on the lifts. Just with the example of the last lady who was talking to you.
The nervousness is what gives you away, I'm sure you could look a legit maintaince for the lifts.

SO AMAZING but maybe some shops are selling editable clothes you just need to order one and put high rise lift service on it or tec lift and then you can surf lifts with out getting caught (sry for.my bad english i am coming from germany)

When putting something up to read, the usual rule is to leave it on screen long enough for someone to read it three times. And you should try to talk slower. Sometimes you get so excited and talk so fast I can't understand you.
There is no way that I would talk slower. People have short attention spans.
Well if you talk so fast you're unintelligible I suspect people will stop watching.
The majority of people can understand me. People will stop watching if the video is slow paced. I am making my videos stand out by being quick and snappy. I put a lot of effort into talking fast. It often takes me 10 - 20 takes to record the lines for these videos at a fast speed without mistakes. This is the style of video I want to create. There are hundreds of vlog channels with someone talking painfully slowly with loads of pauses between sentences, I just don't want to create videos like that.
Paul Robinson, I do agree bro. I can't understand you much. As you do post really interesting lifts, YOU NEED to talk slower because I like learning about lifts like these!

9:31 Im surprised they were able to park that big boat right there because if that was trying to turn around to leave it would be a tight squeeze because these are kind of in the way a tiny bit

These were installed in 1998

All Alimaks are like this, they are weatherproof as they are designed as industrial temporary site hoists and therefore not actually designed to be enclosed in a shaft (to make temporary even more viable). They also use the rack and pinion over roped and counterweighted for this reason, additionally more rack can just be added on top of the stack to serve newly built higher floors.

What are you talking about? Those are Square Otis Lexans. Nothing to do with climbling lifts or Alimak Heks.
Where does the lift Gets his power from
From the power cable under the lift. Climbing lifts have wire hoops on the track that the cable slots into as the lift goes past to stop the wind blowing it into the track where it could get caught up in the rack and pinion.

what is a climbing lift????
It doesn't use ropes, hydraulics or counterweights. It has several motors on top which drive a pinion along the towers rack to climb it.

you insane? they are quite risky to surf, if you surf them if you get crushed or whatever, if in full speed going up on upper car and emergency stop, lower car crashes. Anyways that place is busy, no time for logic cabinets

I have tried to surf several broken lifts. They would not fall down the shaft as lifts don't work like that.
