Victim of GBV struggles to survive with a disability that was inflicted by her husband

4,067 cases of gender-based violence have been reported this year at the gender violence recovery centre, a section of Nairobi Women’s Hospital. Alberta Wambua the executive director of the centre says though cases of sexual violence are common at the centre, cases of assault are on the rise, in 2023 the rate stood at 29%. This comes as Judy Wairimu, a victim of GBV struggles to survive with a disability that was inflicted by her husband.
