- With the Acolyte episode 8 set to drop on disney plus....those like Leslye Headland, Kathleen Kennedy and Amandla Stenberg have been engaging in damage control and double down mode after the acolyte backlash hit a record high....one major development now has more to do with leslye headland going after fans yet again after her multi million dollar contract deal went south under disney & lucasfilm. This all comes in the wake of the acolyte episode 7 failed to reverse the acolyte rotten tomatoes 14 percent audience score as the acolyte finale looms for its release.

And the youngest was pulled out of public school and put in a special program where he dropped into a very small school and did a self paced program wit some one on one teaching and graduated 6 months early and his grades went up dramatically.

The arrogance and smugness coming from current Disney "creators" is nauseating. When they say "everyone wants a diverse Star Wars", it angers the average fan because IT WAS ALREADY DIVERSE! What they truly mean is non-White, non-male diversity, and that's why there's backlash. It's like taking the story of Roots, but saying "nah, I think diversity is what's truly needed here, so most of the cast will be albino people".

I am 54 I remember seeing the first Star Wars at the Movies and all the others Star Wars movies. The lame scripts character development etc with this Acolyte is really sad depressing and will never ever compare to the Real Star Wars movies. The best light saber duel I have seen in my opinion is when Qui Gon and young Obi Wan vs Darth Maul especially young Obi Wan and Darth Maul duel and how empty headed Headland thinks that any Acolyte that bites light saber duel was better is beyond me. I grew up with Star Wars then when Episode one came out and the others it was like wow MORE and whole new generation get to experience real acting real scripts and awesome special effects. The last Jedi not was not even close Acolyte what a complete waste from start to finish.

Why would the viewership be there when she tears apart what made Star Wars , Star Wars? No one cares if you want to introduce more females or diversity but, you must have a good story and follow canon. But, when you tear up the story line and create a universe of what you believe what the universe should be, you loose the fans. I did see some signs of a decent story, but the changes she made did not make logic sense. So, why blame the fans when it is your bad story telling?

YES! Was going to make the same point. My wife and I loved the original trilogy. We were not enthused about the prequel trilogy (hated Jar-Jar and the terrible Aniken/Padema romance because of bad writing and acting), but they were at least watchable entertainment. Since Di$ney got its grubby paws on Lucasfilm, they have been producing nothing but garbage. We went to The Force Awakens and were underwhelmed by its rehash of A New Hope. A whining emo villain in place of Darth Vader and turning Han Solo into a deadbeat dad was offensive to us. I have not bothered to watch anything else Di$ney has vomited forth since, even on TV. I am more entertained by CZcams commentaries and refuse to be suckered out of my money by a company that obviously hates fans of the original series.

This series could have been for me. I'm a huge sci-fi fan. I have no particular allegiance to the Star Wars mythology. I thought the films were OK but wasn't emotionally invested in them. I'm a woman. I have gay family members. I tick virtually every box they were aiming at. I hated this with a passion. The acting was terrible. The story lacked a consistent narrative and was poorly told. It constantly threw agendas at the audience. I'm now told that because I don't like it, I'm a troll, a homophobe, I'm a misogynist and anything else LH can come up with. I've cancelled Disney, I'm not pay another penny to a company who let's it's employee insult it's paying subscribers.

The problem with the Acolyte is that it's an overt DEI agenda story with bits and pieces of SW lore poorly cobbled together. That's why Star Wars fans are pissed off. Most of us simply want a good Star Wars story, good cinematography, and decent acting. Had she done that and left out the lesbian immaculate conception BS that muddies the waters around Darth Plagueis experiments that leads to Anakin's origins (aka already established lore) most people wouldn't have given two 💩's about the increased number of minorities playing major and minor characters.
If there is a silent majority they show up in tickets sales and ratings. If those numbers are not there, the fans are not there.

In fact every single book that she wrote had AMAZING Female characters who are central to the plots if not the main characters the plot revolves around, over 53 books in total which won her the Hugo and nebula awards multiple times, the list of her awards are literally as long as my arm!
Anne also co-wrote many books with other great authors who've ALSO created works with astonishing female characters, Elizabeth Moon (Serrano series, Vatta's War series) with a wide variety of ethnically diverse characters...
Her Son and Daughter have BOTH carried on her legacy, after She passed away in 2011, with only one stipulation, not to mess with the characters Anne created or, as Anne put it "I don't want them playing in My sandbox but instead to create their own works based in the same world I created.."
Between the 3 of them them there's a legacy of 26 books written about the events on a world Anne first spawned into being 56 years ago...
THAT'S how you change peoples perceptions of acceptability from the staid intolerance of the past! Great character writing, great story telling and imagination. NOT agendas!

Something people don't think about enough is just how many high profile writers and directors were brought on to make star wars movies or shows, and then the projects just mysteriously get dropped. Like wasn't the director of Jurassic World supposed to make a star wars movie and then just got dropped by the studio? Or I remember hearing the game of thrones creators were gonna do a star wars and then that just gets dropped. It's clear it's Disney, and Kathleen Kennedy, that are the real problem. Using her identity as a shield is getting old. People pointing out bad shows isn't about her identity. Fans are people you win or keep. They are not someone you blame. Art is in the eye of the beholder. If the fans are not buying what you are selling then the problem resides with producer and production company. Why Hollywood and the entertainment industry has forgotten this, is bewildering? If Disney was wise they would not allow a director, actor or producer attack the fans, because it makes the whole company look bad. Entertainment is an offering and relies on good customer relations. Rein them in or fire them. Because they have become the unofficial spokes persons for Disney, and are making statements that Disney will have to cash. It is a self serving, arrogant attitude of we will spew it and you will like it. People watch or don't watch. Vendors and advertiser watch the numbers.

Before that you had this cool sith warrior (from a planet of a sith). Before that mara jade, before that princess leia is awesome in her own thing. The thing about strong women in Star Wars is that a vast majority of the fanbase will be all on board for a strong woman centric story, but not if the characters or the story are poorly written. Anyone can easily write a strong/diverse woman, but writing good characters and dialogue and plot takes actual talent. You can't just slap a rainbow sticker on a pile of turds and call it art, especially when you're talking about a beloved franchise such as star wars

However, for Star Wars we only have Karens and Mary Sues. Another point is the lack of talent for writing good stories and characters.
