Children used to get allowances OR work for allowances way back in the day. My parents weren't aware of giving allowances. But my father would give each of us $1 and every year we would buy our mom a bottle of fingernail polish and a box of chocolate covered cherries for Mother's Day (didn't realize damage sugar could cause at the time). But we thought WE were big spenders.
Back then, we NEVER thought to give our Dad a gift for His day. BUT now realize that Dad's need to feel LOVE and appreciation from their offsprings also. ☺ IMHO

Beautiful to see two people from very different worlds loving one anoyher without allowing their respective cultural barriers to get in thr way. So lovely to see how the wife has mastered the language of the husband and is able to speak fluently to him in his native language. You would not believe they have any children or experience any problem because they appear to have a very close bond together and dont appear to allow anything or anyone to come between the two of them.
