      That’s a fair assessment but they have to make money period. So blaming stores for having higher prices could be because they had to pay retail for them to be able to provide it for their own customers. Now with that being said I had a local LGS/LCS that would always over charge for sealed. If it retails for $30 they’re charging $45. But they’re no longer in business so

Just to put it into perspective, someone in Tokyo spent almost $50k just on exclusive OP cards in a single visit and winner of the most recent OP tournament in Japan was offered 30 mil yen for his super exclusive Luffy card. @Eiji475 it's bad bad. I know the Walmart vendor by name, they've never seen it. My LGS flat out told me they weren't carrying it because the last DB (I assume masters?) sold poorly. The ONLY saving grace is the Sim. If OP can get an official Sim up and add code cards, we'd be cooking.

    • @Erojayjay
      @Erojayjay Před 3 měsíci

      @@matttran7161 I live in a big state & have like 10-15 LGS working my 30 mi radius, all carry & run DBS events. Products hard to come by & expensive but nowhere near the level of OP. The two LCS down the street from me have both packed games for OP, but multiple players have either quit or taken break due to how expensive it is to get into & keep up with. A bunch of those players have jumped over to DBS bc of how cheap it is to build a good deck & the top 3 deck can run you like $50-$60…Their still on the first set & the second set preorders at LGS & Online can be found for $149 a box. The games fine
      What’s happening with OP is exactly what Happened with Digimon, you couldn’t get product bc there wasn’t enough for the demand which brings in scalpers. The prices for packs, boxes, & meta singles were beyond inflated for Digimon first few sets. Bandai eventually caught up with reprinting all those sets & subsequent ones & you can build a deck for nothing now. Bandai doesn’t care about their Western audience when it comes to physical card games, it’s why there’s plenty of JP OP01-06 booster boxes for sale over here at or below Msrp & while the West won’t see its first reprint until July lol They make plenty of money on OP in Asia & clearly have demonstrated the West is an afterthought when it comes to their games. It’s why they still can’t get regional offline events here done right, they’re letting companies run the events on their own with little support & their being forced to have under 500 player cut offs. I mean their website & TCG app is barely put together for western players lol The only hope is an official digital client, bc it’ll be the only way players will be able to play actual events. Until then they’ll just be those jank online twitch tournaments where “top” players are cheating on their $20 camera set up 😂

      @@khanman9146 It's both. Star Wars is in the same boat AND they're reprinting. SW though is mostly players while OP still has a scalper problem, the game is hella collectable because of the low stock, but as a game it's on a impossible bubble because of Bandai's refusal to run good tournaments *on top of* the stocking issues. This happened with DBS, it happened to Digimon, it's happening *again* with One Piece.

    I had many frustrations like this with the Final Fantasy game when it first launched. How a large gaming company in another country doesn't figure out that they should have an American Division that helps them understand the gaming market here is beyond me. Many game store owners have been doing this for a long time, we have data, information, etc. that would be great to source and pull from. Many of us could be consultants for these businesses and they do not reach out. You are even giving them free information to show the flaws in the system and they probably won't listen to it. I've got 20 years of online sales experience in the CCG/TCG market. I have data that distributors do not have. We should be seen as Data experts for these company's products, not as just retailers. This is why the CCG/Hobby industry is so frustrating.

    imo, I keep saying this, I don't trust any Bandai game for more than a casual romp. No matter how good their games are, their business structure is to pump out a new game every year and stretch their own player base thin, just so they can always experience the 1st year high of a TCG. It basically guarantees anything they make doesn't have a shelf life.

    It seems like a lot of excuses to not want to take accountability and I might be wrong, but that’s just what it seems like off the complaints that were in the video. The idea of not having instructions there spelled out for you like a toddler just often because all the information on the website you have to go look for it in your busy store like that and yeah valid point but the information is available you have to be able to search on your own. If you don’t carry the product and if if you can’t carry the product and don’t want to foster or at least host events and just offer credit rather than it be done for you makes it appear like you are a little spoiled from the way, other kings run their events and hopefully does get there at some point but until then you’ll have some extra extra work.
