I wouldnt recommend cutting. I did this before and the hair shed badly. Its better to fold it down and sew it flat to preserve the hair
Thanks for commenting but I have not had any issues with my unit as of yet but if that happens I would recommend using a sewing machine to stitch it instead of hand stitching.

Heres a tip: To avoid having to stitch back the tracks/wefts that were hanging after you flipped the wig back to the correct side, be mindful about how you stitch from the inside during the process. More particularly, as you stitch up the middle, make sure you are simultaneously aligning/connecting the horizontal wefts back together from the inside. This way you are knocking out two birds with one stone.

Lol. Don't do this! Without cutting, just sew the tracks sideways, so you don't ruin the wig.

Thanks for your video. I will be trying this method and hopefully I will not destroy my wig for my 50th birthday. Decades ago my instructor showed me how to pinch or cuff wig once on my head, then remove the wefts in that pinch or cuff. Your method is quicker. I hope to return with results by June 5th.

That's very helpful, gonna try it myself. If you want it to be flat, after cutting, unseal and reseal.
Can you do this video again and start from the very beginning? I would like to see what you did before you flipped the wig over and started sewing
After cutting you could probably add weft sealer and let dry before flipping the wig right side out and combing.

@@holesinthefacee yes the hair too. but you don/t need to cut it as Lili did you can sew the loose bit down to the cap to lay it flatter - if it is not too bulky.

Omg yes. Ok I was wondering if I could do something like this instead of adding bands and combs. I didn't think about cutting it. I may not do that cause it's my first time ever and it's taking weeks to ventilate.. I just don't wanna mess it up but I love this. I knew I couldn't be the first with this idea. Thank you for this! I just got my first wig online and althoigh the company said the straps makes it fit better, I see there might be a bigger difference between my 21.5in head and the 22.5 in cap. Mine also has the adjustable straps. Other videos either have you just fold and sew or if it doesnt have the straps, just cut off the back area. I only paid $130 for the wig but Im just getting into wigs and these are the mistakes I dont want to make with a $500 custom wig lmaooooo

Hello. I don't understand where you did your pinning before you started to sew. In my mind the pinning would need to happen on the cap with the wig inside out. Please explain. Thanks

Can you feel that seam on the back of your head when you wear it?
This is definitely a different method than i've ever seen. I would think cutting the cutting the wig cap with hair extensions inside of it as she says it's okay. I would think the hair's that are being cut are no longer Properly being held and will fall out upon brushing. Thoughts on this?????

All you had to do is skip rows meaning sewing the tracks closer together the way they were sewn to the actual cap to avoid cutting anything other then the thread… thanks for sharing though

Omg thank u my cap can fit three men heads and I’m talking about big head men they wrong for making my wig this huge it’s ridiculous
Unfortunately the most common size in the market is 22.5 circumference . So if you have a very small head you would have to customize it to fit you properly.
I don’t cut after I see it it works fine with out cutting it

Yep can see those tracks horribly. No, and she goes in to stitch the tracks up. That's also going to make the cap tighter. Losing her measurement. I think stitching the cap from the inside is best. ❤

I have never sewn a wig and this didn't really help. It was simple a video of her sewing the wig which was supposedly pinned on the outside but 5 minutes in she notes that she already took the pins out so if your a first timer like myself, skip this video because it's missing the beginning steps on how to measure before you start sewing.

Pin 📍 as you gather before you sew try it on with the pins in make sure ear tabs line up but if you plan to cut it's best to use a sewing machine if not i wouldn't cut

Bad wig
I sew a curved dart on my sewing machine, then sew it down flat. The dart also eliminates bulge at the dome of the wig.
