We still love him here in Philly!
I heard they hated him cause the team was sorry
Barkley was my favorite player growing up!!
Chuck is great. Always has been. Always will be.
Barkley was a monster....
That was a deep team in Phoenix with Barkley, KJ, Majerle, Ainge, Cedric Ceballos, Chambers, Richard Dumas. They just didn't have Jordan on team. The 94 and 95 teams were actually better with AC Green and Danny Manning. They just couldn't get past Houston in either series where they'd blown a 2-0 lead. I honestly think they would've won a title in 94 or 95 if they had beaten Houston.
Barkley lack of defense crippled teams he played with. Still a top 5 player but his limitations always limited him from that Hakeem/MJ range.
Ceballos was out for The Finals. Would have made a significant difference. Not saying they'd win but Ceballos was one of the guys who got them there. The '94 and '95 teams were _not_ better than the '93 squad. Manning was good but overrated and injury prone. Phoenix should have won the '95 series against Houston in five games. Even with Manning available, I'm not sure they get by San Antonio _and_ Orlando, though.
They blew a 3-1 lead!
@@bubufubuthe 94 squad was better than 95 but 93 vs 94 is debatable
@@arizonaFIREent I don't see how. No Chambers or Dumas in '94.
I love that part where he talks about being traded 😂
Charles was a great player in the Phoenix Suns but he was always a badass in Philly.
I love me some Charles Barkley!!!
He never changed good for chuck
0:22 i wish Bron defended WB like that
Gotta love Chuck. No BS.
Jordan saw this interview, and took it personally 🔥
Point dunk #7
This trade was highway robbery by the Phoenix Suns. Hornacek was a decent, but not great, starting shooting guard. Andrew Lang and Tim Perry were solid bench players in exchange for the a top 3 league player and a future Hall of Famer!!! The GM of the Sixers should have been fired on the spot. To be able to trade for Barkley and not get Kevin Johnson, Dan Majerle, Cedric Ceballos, Richard Dumas, Tom Chambers or draft picks as part of the trade is AWFUL. One of the top 5 worst trades in NBA history. Shame on the Phoenix Suns for not winning a title when they were loaded with that kind of talent. After Jordan retired (93-95) they had a clear window to win a title that they completely blew.
Sixers have a history of making dumb trades
Oh, shut the hell up. First of all, Hornacek was better than decent. Garbage take from either an ill-informed person or an attention starved troll. Hornacek wasn't some stiff, one dimensional player. He handled the ball well, made good decisions, could score off the dribble, could drive the lane, shot a high percentage, had excellent range, and was mentally tough. 1992 was his best season (check the stats), so the man had value at the time.
The Suns lost one of their best bench players (Ceballos) during the '93 WCF. He didn't play one second of The Finals. They were also up against the two-time defending champs. The '94 series against Houston was a hard loss but those Rockets won 58 games, were Top 3 in Defense, matched up very well against the Suns, and eventually won the title. The next year is the only one you could argue that Phoenix blew it but they lost Manning, for the entire season, in February. Even if they took out the Rockets in five, then they still had to beat San Antonio _and_ Orlando. Not exactly a cake walk for that Suns squad.
Philly in general has a history of real dumbfucks
They kept blowing leads to the Rockets. 1995 was their best chance but they blew a 3-1 lead.
Yeah that's like the Miami Heat getting Nikola Jokic for Tyler Herro.
He was fed up with the Sixers front office and the next season goes to Phoenix than went to the finals.
