Mr. T. Rogers you should be proud to have such a supportive and wonderful Grandpa, and family, especially your supportive, handsome, extremely fun and favorite Uncle Ron. Not many young people would care let alone dedicate their life to such a restoration project. Your Uncle Ron is extremely proud of you.

Nice work, I was once a auto painter couple decades ago . I've done this outside a few times as well on my own stuff. Roof is always the hardest section to paint..ive used 5 gallon buckets, 3 per side , to walk on as I'd shoot the roof..Love the color. Thinking of doing my 64 nova in that. With a silver roof.

    • @trentrogers1912

Yep I've painted very expensive cars outside with little dirt to worry about of course you have to buff every car but it wasn't as bad as you think came out show showroom status. It's all about the painter not the spot u paint it. Obviously you can't paint in a windy ass dusty day but on a calm cool day you could pretty much paint anywhere.

In fact, I have been so moved by your efforts, I am prepared to donate, YES gor free, a SATA spray gun, (gravity feed) from my collection to you. I take care of all my babies, That suction red gun creates a lot of overspray and uses a lot of material! Remember one thing though, you will need a jeck of a compressor for any professional gun!!!

Cool to see the efforts put into this ride, I'm sure it'll end up in great shape. I plan on redoing my truck soon as I get the chance, but I plan on building a paint booth out of PVC tubing for the framing and rolls of plastic sheets. This way I get out of the elements and have a cheap paint booth. I would not do it outside in the open, too much extra work redoing the flaws from bugs and dust and other flying debree.

Let me explain, my grandpa who is painting the car has been painting since 1959. He is now 81 years old and still painting which is pretty good in my book. He has owned this very car since it was almost new and has painted it 5 times now over the years. It really turned out great and I’m very happy with the results. I’m looking forward to seeing of your 1964 Impala that you painted.

Well the painter of this car is my grandfather and he has been using the same gun and technique since about 1968 when he first started painting, but I appreciate your suggestion.

After reading all three of your comments I’m a bit confused. You call me grandfather who is painting this car an amateur, he has been painting cars as a side job since 1961. He is now 80 years old so how much longer will it take before you consider him a professional? He has painted this very same car four times in his lifetime since we have owned this car since new. The paint turned out great, just like I knew it would.

After watching you paint I’m a bit confused.
You have no defense for such lack of craftsmanship!

really, a hack at best. Def a low budget driver quality. Earl Schieb for $ 99.00 could have done a better job. But it your customer is happy with a 500 dollar paint job

Mr. Stewart, let me start out by saying I’m only 15 years old. I’m the one in the red jacket in this video. I pulled this car out of a field when I was 9 with the intent to restore it. It has been in my family since new. The person painting it is my grandfather who drove the car for 35 years. He has painted cars since 1965. In the video he is 80 years old and has painted this very same car 4 times in his life. The paint turned out fantastic, just the way I wanted it to. For the record you always came off nicer in all the movies you starred in Jimmy.

@@trentrogers1912 Yeah, that jackass can't get out of his moms basement to do anything so he sits on his keyboard trolling those who do. Saw a few outdoor paint jobs that turned out ok. The car absolutely looks better than before, so, that's a good thing. Enjoy it and the learning experience.
