Will the a Minneapolis Moline U302 super pull 5-16s???

I grew up on a G1000 with a MM 5-16 plow. Loved setting under the stars at night in the comfort of the heat houser watching the flame coming out of the cherry red muffler!
Love your plows collection Dan. I think you have done a fine job putting as many Moline tractors back to life, as have been possible.
One can never disrespect the Minneapolis Moline "long life" engine. When properly maintained they live up to its name.
Brings back the younger days for me . we had 7 Olivers and start at 9 am with aa 1755 pump turned up a bit with 4-16s i used to bounce around till 6 or 7 pm. the good old days. thanks for the ride.

I wanted to see you plow with the Moline &5 bottoms, we had the same set of plows, we used an XT190 Allis!

We had a 'rule of thumb' of 1 HP for every inch of plow bottom so the five 16s would need at least 80 HP. Of course soil conditions make a big difference on that, but our Olive 5 bottom sure went faster when we switch from the 1850 to a 2255!

It definitely caught my attention. I ran a 302 pulling a 3 bottom and didn't think it wanted anything more.
I really like the U302 tractors Dan, I wish the one over here that's for sale had a 3pt hitch on it. I knew you wouldn't try plowing with the 5 - 16 plow on the U302. 🤣🤣
It's great seeing you use your tractors and equipment on video, the M670 easily managed the 3 bottom 3pt plow, the engine sounded nice pulling the plow. Best wishes from England. Peter 🇬🇧🚜
Hi Dan Geoff here in Australia, I cringed every time you put your arm through the steering wheel I could almost hear the crak as your wrist broke. Love your blogs,I used to have a Moline 9g after 2years I got it free and driving around loved great tractor and lots of fun.
I had a Super U302 gas that would pull 4x16"s with ease and plowed a lot of ground with it. I miss the old girl but I got a great deal on an Oliver 1550 and had to trade it and almost bought it back about 10 years ago but couldnt come to a deal on it. Funny thing is it had the same back tires on it as yours does ! So It bring back lots of memories ! Bandit

@@very5ick112 Pretty much but in some ground 3 is more than enough for them. My 1550 diesel is rated at 54 hp and is a 3 plow tractor but it will pull 4x16" with ease. My U302 gas would pull 4x16's but there was some ground I had 3 would have been a better choice for it. Bandit
Dan , you need a roll over plow, just a little more convenient, but not necessary , lol , great video though!!
Nothing better than plowing with a J.i. case or MM tractor. Hearing them big long stroke engines lug down to low rpms & come back ❤

A friend of mine pulls 5-16s with a super M670 gas. Sometimes it's a bit much & makes the ol M670 really grunt
well derrrr au302 is 55 hp rated 4 plow, a super m670 has 63 hp so yeah
grew up with a m5 and a z

About 81 hp.
64 drawbar , 74 hp - super m670 , made 1964-1965 .
Looks too little to me. We had a 7710 ford that was alot bigger and 5 16s was all it wanted
