- An otherworldly performance from the late great Lane Smith. Coach Reilly is my favorite character from the entire Ducks universe and every time he pops his collar I lose my shit.
- Krátké a kreslené filmy
To this day he was still one of the best "Enemy" coaches of all time. That original Mighty Ducks movie was so dang good.
I was in my 20s when I finally checked Rotten Tomatoes and saw it got savaged by critics. To me as a kid it had everything you could want.
@@makani9004 It's funny, just like Hocus Pocus all of us millennials bring poorly rated 90's flicks up, lol. I love them though!
"Your not even a has been. You're a never was."
That was coal.
Gordon Bombay: To think, I've wasted all these years, worrying about what you've thought. You're going down, Reilly.
2:22 Ladies, they don't need our help out there! 🤣🤣🤣🤣🤣🤣🤣
“You’re not even a has bin, you’re a never was” referring to a missed goal from when he was 10 😆
lmao, its so absurd and amazing
Says the guy coaching the same peewee hockey team for 30+ years to the successful trial lawyer, lmao!
Greatest coach of all time. I live by the mantra of it’s not worth wining if you can’t win big.
amen

We’ll miss you, pal.
Bombay is a successful lawyer and Reilly has been coaching the same peewee hockey team for 30+ years, never really got how ridiculous this scene wasas a kid.
HEY Coach Reilly spends the offseason as a DA in Alabama under the lawyer name Jim Trotter.
Wolf the Dentist made Reilly look like butter.
Dentist is a dumba** tho. He's just physical. Reilly was playing a 20 year+ mental abuse situation.
I feel love from behind evil in life. Bet Riley still had kids from his wife’s passing. Maybe even his all grown up kids with even grandkids. Grandkids grown up themselves to this day.
He was great
Loved this guy. While he was seen as an aggressor, he got the Wins. Wish they would of brought him back for d3. It should of been that the freshman ducks were starting varsity with Orion as their new coach. And jack Reilly comes back as a new varsity head coach wanting revenge on the ducks. And he has Larson and McGill with him as well.
Lane Smith: from Richard Nixon, to Jack Riley, to Perry White.
Don't forget Mike Trotter III
@@josephhaney6158 Jim Trotter III
This guy calls Gordan a "never was". He became something in life. Hes an attorney making a good living with a Corvette. Riley is a old guy coaching pee wee hockey making probably shitty money.
Jim Trotter III ESQ. vs. Billy The Kid.
Coach Reilly really wanted to injured banks so they can win the game. A mean selfish coach.
You hate on Reilly but hes the coach you need to win
Coach reilly makes a great coach in a movie..You sometimes wish he was the charismatic positive coach though..some serious good acting from Lane Smith..
I have given though to that recently as well
@@n64rescue "So, who's your hotshot
player this year? - Anyone good?
- I got a kid named Banks. Might go all the way. Not quite as good as you were.
But he wants it more.
Kid won't give up.
Reilly probably lost his job after the first film because ordering your players to seriously injure your opponents is a good way to get fired.
nah it was the early 90's. he was probably promoted!
@@n64rescue He was never mentioned coaching again after the first film. They kind of just left that hanging.

😳
Gordon Bombay should have made that goal if we're being honest. But y'all not ready to have that conversation tho
the one when he was 11 and his dad had just died? you sound like skip bayless talking about lebron
@@n64rescue LeBron would've made that tho
"You could have been one of the greats!"
Just a reminder being a good hockey player as a kid does not mean you will make it into the NHL. It is common for good players to fizzle out when they become adults. Even if Gordon continued playing great as a kid he still had a higher probabilty of becoming a ruthless lawyer.
yeah but Coach Reilly had done it so long he knew Gordon had a future in hockey but Bombay didn't pursue it. In D2 he's working his way up in the pro hockey league even though he quit playing for 15+ years.
@@n64rescue Gordon's career-ending injury could have easily happened before becoming an adult. It happens to many good players before reaching adulthood. So Gordon still had a higher probability of becoming a ruthless lawyer.
You're a never was.
Can someone explain what no goats means? For my wife, she doesnt understand hockey
can you explain to me? I am from new orleans and have no idea. I just know it's a badass scene
@@n64rescue haha wish I could, hockey is my favorite sport and I've never heard that before. Even googling it just returns clips of the scene, it's either so common that nobody bothers explaining it or so obscure that nobody knows (yet still somehow ended up the opening line of a family movie)
It's not just hockey, but life in general - it means making a huge mistake that often causes disaster later. It can be a basketball player stepping on the out of bounds line, a baseball pitcher giving up a crucial home run late in the game, or a hockey player hitting the post on a penalty shot.
Bet Coach Riley had such a habit in determining win is…..for the lost of his wife. A loving wife dead from maybe child birth. Wether he paid for it to maybe even to this day. Who doubts he deserved it.
Coach Riley was a jerk! Gordon was a has been. Then, he turned into a once again.
a jerk with a lot of championships!
Dude was a helluva coach
