  • An otherworldly performance from the late great Lane Smith. Coach Reilly is my favorite character from the entire Ducks universe and every time he pops his collar I lose my shit.

    Loved this guy. While he was seen as an aggressor, he got the Wins. Wish they would of brought him back for d3. It should of been that the freshman ducks were starting varsity with Orion as their new coach. And jack Reilly comes back as a new varsity head coach wanting revenge on the ducks. And he has Larson and McGill with him as well.

    Just a reminder being a good hockey player as a kid does not mean you will make it into the NHL. It is common for good players to fizzle out when they become adults. Even if Gordon continued playing great as a kid he still had a higher probabilty of becoming a ruthless lawyer.

    • @n64rescue
      @n64rescue  Před 5 dny

      yeah but Coach Reilly had done it so long he knew Gordon had a future in hockey but Bombay didn't pursue it. In D2 he's working his way up in the pro hockey league even though he quit playing for 15+ years.

      @@n64rescue Gordon's career-ending injury could have easily happened before becoming an adult. It happens to many good players before reaching adulthood. So Gordon still had a higher probability of becoming a ruthless lawyer.

      It's not just hockey, but life in general - it means making a huge mistake that often causes disaster later. It can be a basketball player stepping on the out of bounds line, a baseball pitcher giving up a crucial home run late in the game, or a hockey player hitting the post on a penalty shot.
