When Alita (Rosa Salazar) awakens with no memory of who she is in a future world she does not recognize, she is taken in by Ido (Christoph Waltz), a compassionate doctor who realizes that somewhere in this abandoned cyborg shell is the heart and soul of a young woman with an extraordinary past. As Alita learns to navigate her new life and the treacherous streets of Iron City, Ido tries to shield her from her mysterious history while her street-smart new friend Hugo (Keean Johnson) offers instead to help trigger her memories. But it is only when the deadly and corrupt forces that run the city come after Alita that she discovers a clue to her past - she has unique fighting abilities that those in power will stop at nothing to control. If she can stay out of their grasp, she could be the key to saving her friends, her family and the world she's grown to love.

This is one of the greatest sci-fic action movies ever had Alita character is amazing, CGI effect is excellent,screenplay is amazing too after the "interstellar " this movie truly satisfied me in every way.

Rosa is so amazing, she made me cry several times :))) I loved the scene where she offers her boyfriend her heart and where she does the handstand with just her index finger :))) can't wait for dvd and sequel

Completed touched again and again while seeing several times till now. Innocent love, Super fast speedy Action, emotion conflict & fight regarding to Hugo, strong pursuit of her-self path and origins .....many.... Especially the scenes of asking Hugo with lovely eyes “Does it bother you that I am not a complete human ?”, Holding dying Hugo, Conversation with Hugo on the tube to Zelum, Holding Hugo’’s machine arm w/ trying hard to save his life........ many.......It did earn my tears again......

Hope sequel is Nova found Hugo's body and revived him and brainwashed him to hunt down Alita but Alita saves him with the power of Love. :D prob wont happen but its a dream.

Sick Boy- agreed. It is my favorite movie of all time now, not even joking. One of the most powerful beautiful stories with some of the best action and of top of all that, its the best CGI performance capture ever. Rosa was amazing in this, her heart and emotion drove the movie.

94% audience score on Rotten Tomatoes... alongside a 60% critic score. I just ended up going because I enjoyed the trailer. Quite glad I did too. I've seen Alita five times, and would have gone for a few more viewings if my local cinema was still offering it. Hope the Blu-Ray comes out soon. :)

I think the 94% audience score on Rotten Tomatoes speaks for itself. Obviously the pro critics dropped the ball on this one.

Yes this movie is amazing
I loved it- this is the only movie in my life that I have ever seen more than once in a theater (3 times). Not even with Star Wars, Lord of the Rings, Harry Potter movies, Terminator etc. Those who didn't see it because of the large eyes (you forget about it after a few minutes and anime characters have large eyes), critics (many clearly did not see the movie), etc missed a really good movie. Support Alita via DVDs, Blu-Ray, 4K, the art book, merchandise- only money will get us a sequel!
For those who want to know more in depth about Alita's background, the manga, and anime, go to "JAYA NICE DAY" youtube channel. He has > 20 videos dating back to 2016 when he first talked about Alita:Battle Angel. Really thoughtful and well doen videos.
I love this girl so mach. I watched this beautiful movie twice in 2 days. GOD! A CG cyber girl who in the huge screen i love her , whatever who she is and what. Such a wonderful girl and beautiful love, GORGEOUS !

one of the BEST 3D movies I have ever seen! I would love to see a prequel of when she was a warrior on mars and the moon and how she came to be on Earth.
Saw this yesterday Feb 16. Excellent. A few minor gripes not worth mentioning. But this is another James Cameron success story as far as I am concerned.

Imax finished its showing of Alita in my country and now I am just watching a set of these Alita youtube videos with the same clips I saw already many times because I cannot get enough. That movie was so good. I can't wait for the Bluray to come out so I can watch it over and over.

She didn't fit the narrative.
They think Alita's body was too objectified, and that she depended too much on men ( specifically white men-- Hugo and the doctor) making her look weak.
They even insulted Cameron and Rodriguiz. Said they wish it was a women who made this film. I'm not kidding, There was one article that said that.
