Thanks for posting this! Wow, Sara was such a real fixture in Chapel Hill, what a class act. Fascinating interview - such interesting, kind and thoughtful answers. Sara was a legitimate hero to many of us, this is great proof of that… She is missed terribly!

Thank you for watching. I really like this interview and was lucky she allowed me to do it. She seems so relaxed and at ease talking about drums and her passion for them. I think this is a great way to remember her.

I first met Sara while waiting in line for beer at a Sun Ra show at the Cat's Cradle back in the early 90s. It was a long line so we had a great conversation. After she got her beer and went off to watch the show I thought, "what a cool person!". A few years later she was working at the Music Explorium which was where I bought all my violin gear. I found it interesting that in this interview she said she is not a teacher. I actually took some drum lessons from her and trust me, she was a great teacher.

Dang I think I opened this show. RIP to one of the coolest drummers I’ve ever seen, she was a real deal powerhouse.

Great interview. Reminded me of how much I miss her being around. I worked at a Best Buy in Durham in the mid 90's, in the music department. One day, I was playing a promo cd of Clarissa, which was what Snatches of Pink had changed their name to, and she came into the store. She came over to where I was, all excited that we were playing the cd. We ended up talking for about 30 minutes. After that, she came in numerous times, and would come looking for me and a friend of mine who worked there, and we'd all talk for as long as we could. She was such a sweet, cool, down to earth person. And she could play the drums! I really do miss her.

When I met them on tour she was so friendly and positive. I shared my weed with her and their tour manager lol but not Dex. But it was so fun meeting both Sara and Dex! I still have my signed copy of Ruins Of Berlin

Thank you for posting this. Sara and her brother have been blindspots in my music-listening lifetime, and I am glad to be catching up to them. Both have gone far, far, far too young. What a sweet lady she was.

Rest in Peace Sara. You are an absolute legend in the Chapel Hill, NC music scene and I'm fortunate to have seen you play many times with all your great bands (though unfortunately not with Let's Active). It's also heartbreaking that Dex recently passed. Two of the all-time greats in the Chapel Hill scene who will be sorely missed.

It is so moving to see and hear her again. She is so tough when she plays but I still see her sweetness and kindness in all she does. I love the story that ends with "...get off the stage - we do not need tyou." Thank you for posting!

Oh she was really cool! I met her and Dex on their tour in '09 and 2010. And since they're not too famous it was a laid back vibe but they really rocked with that classic rock n roll sound KABOOM! She is remembered fondly!
