      💯💯 lot of this journalists opinion is merely bias. Sports and eras come down to rules being changed all the time where the players benefit from it stats wise. Also possibly why you see Tom Brady still playing at his age. Quarterbacks are protected in today's game unlike the past eras. Its impossible to compare players past and present for numerous reasons. Even Jordan has mentioned this respectfully

The reporter talks about how people are already saying he’s the greatest. And in 1992, people already said he was the greatest of all time. He received that title early in his career.

  • @adeltoral
    @adeltoral Před rokem +15

    MJ is the GOAT, but Steph is def a HoF.
    Also, I think this dude completely missed Jordan’s point. He wasn’t answering who the all-time Top 5 were, he was answering who are the four dudes he’d want to go into a pick-up basketball game with. Jordan, even in his own answer, said “I played against and with all these guys. I’m going with who I know.” Then this dude asks why he didn’t have Kobe, LeBron or KD in there - why? Because he didn’t play those guys anywhere near as often as he played with Magic, Scottie, Worthy and Hakeem. So basically, Jordan told him he’d want to play with guys whose entire game he knew, and this guy responded with “why not take three guys from the next generation?” 😂 Because he doesn’t know them as well as he knows those other guys!
    Plus, if you’ll notice, MJ picked players by position. He picked Magic for PG, obviously himself for SG, Pippen and Worthy for the wing positions, and Hakeem at Center. Throwing a Kobe in there would replace MJ in the game, thereby invalidating your whole question! What would be the point of that?! You can’t play two SGs at the same time. I mean, you can, but that’s not good fundamentals.
    If you wanted to know his Top 5 players of all-time, that’s the question that should have been asked. That wasn’t the question that was asked, though.

I think MJ chose the high road and just let his record and greatness speak for itself. Also too, look over of how the sport of boxing has become so much softer and less popular since Ali's time. I say that because today’s NBA era is soft compared to Jordan’s era. And with softness comes the need for more shooters than posters. Stephan Curry didn’t revolutionize the game. He just came into a soft league, and because of that he became a great shooter due to the lack of toughness. Curry wouldn’t have the numbers he has now, if he played in Jordan’s era. Joseph Oreskovic i her what you’re saying but this is not necessarily always true. MJ has an insane vertical that is still hugely impressive to today’s athletes. Same with Spid Webb- dude was 5’6” and could dunk. That’s insane. MJ also was clocked in at 4.3-4.4 in the 40. Deion Sanders and Darryl Greene were insanely fast and agile back in the late 80’s and 90s. Nolan Ryan threw 100+ mph balls consistently throughout his career. When you make it to the pros, it’s like splitting hairs or the progress of the athlete is incremental over time. I think what bugs a lot of people about todays NBA game is that it’s live or die by the 3. Pace and space, small ball, isolation plays where they spread the floor and it essentially becomes one on one, zone defense, etc. the game looked like it took way more energy to play 20-25 years ago, just on defense following your guy around all over the court. You are asking someone that is considered the greatest Basketball player of all time who he would pick. Knowing how competitive Mike is I don’t think he is underselling himself with his picks. He’s picking each of those people for a specific reason. He said yet, he’s not a hall of famer... yet. He didn’t suggest he wouldn’t be. That’s MJs attitude. Steph is still playing, Meaning there is work to be done. Always work to be done. Regardless of the numbers he has, he has the ability to push them higher. And MJ expects everyone to have the same drive and work ethic he had. So he expects those numbers to be pushed to their absolute limits because he knows they can be.

    OK, this has been discussed on other channels already. MJ's comment that Steph isn't a Hall of Famer yet is because is because he's still playing and is NOT in the Hall of Fame. It doesn't mean he isn't worthy of it. So stop creating controversy where there isn't any.

      Think what you want but most of us can see Jordan was just jealous when asked about Curry, As curry is playing better now (Or at the time of this interview) Than Jordan did in his prime. Imagine the sting on his ego when asked. You could see it on his face. He knows Curry is the best. lol

You're talking about a player averaging 35+PPG while winning DPOY. And that's against handchecking. In todays soft ass league with no handchecking he'd average 50 if he wanred to.
