They were JuteSaxoAngles, also called Anglosaxons- neglecting the Jutes, who came first. But the Saxons settled in the middle and SE of England and were bright enough to deliver most of the Kings. English = Angles, country and language are named after the last settlers, the Angles. Some call all of the 3 Germanic tribes, Germans would be a bit too unprecise.
