What you're really asking for, is faith. All you have to do, is ask God to give it to you and I guarantee, He will. It's as simple as that.
I know this is kind of late, but I really want to help you. I'm so sorry that you lost your sister. There's no need to wish you're religious. Life isn't about religion, it's about relationship. Your life would be so much different with a relationship with Jesus, and he could help heal your heart. If you could see the difference He has made in my life since this time last year, you wouldn't believe it. This time last year, I had attempted many times to kill myself and I was doing self harm. This summer I accepted Jesus, and it's made a huge difference for me. I still have pain and I'm still learning, but I feel tremendously better. I hope you accept him too.

Honestly, I don't know that a person ever get's over it, there is a hole in your heart that will never be filled. So if you believe in an after life, then rest assured he is sitting right there with you. Knowing my mother might be watching I made sure to do the right thing even when no one was looking. I didn't realize how sad this song was till now. I lost my great grandmother to cancer. She lived a long happy life and the only thing i regret was not getting to know her better. She died exactly on Valentines day 2013 and that ripped my heart out. Also she had been married for 61 years. I also lost a good friend recently to the same thing. She was like my grandmother. Her husband has cancer all over and doesn't expect to live long. Cancer can be a nasty thing and take the lives of millions. Please keep their families in your hearts and if your religious, please pray for them to get better from grieving. I sang this at my friend's mother's funeral. Her and her older sister sang the verses, and me and a few others sang the chorus.
We were all so sure the pair would cry in the middle of the song, but both of them stayed strong until the end of the song. Then we all broke down in tears and started crying.
A few weeks later, we did an exam exercise to this song in contemporary. Afterwards, I could see tears in the corners of my friend's eyes. Kia kaha to everyone who's lost someone - stay strong.

What i hear from from this song is for all the troops fighting for our freedom...and all the shit they go through day day in and day out having an endlessness of feeling like it will never be over and having that emptyness of not being home wife their wife and kids, pulling from the wrekage of constant bombardments and gunfire they go through, and in the arms of the angel is the sign of all the prayers that are over them and the angel there to protect them. Just my seeing in this.
