As a child I wanted to be Clyde. Literally! Now I know that in all such presentations, constant abuse is used behind the scenes. i will also point out that Clyde makes every attempt to make the creatures look aggressive and dangerous. No doubt they are but the show tries to emphasize that for entertainment value.
Mr Edwards it’s not abuse, itsbintroducing the cat into a new spot, Clyde was not abusive but he didn’t shy away from breaking up a fight. But what do I know, I only trained a cat act on his show
@@dominickgiannino8528 I agree with you, just curious, because there's a lot of misconceptions about Beatty, but did he like both cats equally the lion and tiger, because people accuse him of being bias for the lion, perhaps when fighting, but it seems to me all his interviews and books, show he admired both animals similarly.
Anybody else find themselves rooting for the lions? I was kind of hoping the ending scene would consist of a lion sitting in the chair using the whip for a toothpick.

A newspaper stated that, but Mabel Stark never mentioned that in any books i`m aware of, as i have read her books, and Beatty never mentioned it. It only comes from one article, which was likely misinformed. Mabel stopped working with lions early in her career, though....don`t think she would ever pose such a cruel challenge to Beatty, why would he accept, anyways? He didn`t want these animals to fight each other.
