How High Could Cody Williams Rise? | First Look

- Cody Williams has been one of the most interesting long-term prospects in this first segment of the CBB season. And despite missing a month with a left wrist injury, it's gotten him recognition as high as the top 3 of the draft. Some concerns in his outside shot, physicality and elite skill still remain but a freshman wing with tools, feel and the ability to make plays is a mainstay in the lotto. And being the younger brother of a budding star doesn't hurt.

If he goes to the spurs imagine that okc vs San Antonio rivalry for the years to come. Chet vs Wemby Jalen Vs Cody!
He'll be a top 5 pick imo. Guy to take a swing on in a weak draft class. I can imagine Blazers drafting him as they will not be in a rush to win so his rawness won't be a huge issue
Not a weak draft class despite what Givony and other fraudulent “experts” say
nah, he's gonna fall to 9 or 10 and the blazers gonna snatch him up with that warriors FRP :)
@@TheDevynl90Nah,the Spurs gonna draft him before the Blazers.
Great point, but most lottery gms want to take the safe choice. Sam won’t hesitate to trade up as we have seen in JDub and Cason. Not a great job but one to take a shot. The Spurs may have two possible lottery picks. But the commentator should realize Cody has played but a handful of games. Collier was once projected to go first.
I like him for the Blazers. Our pick should be top 5 and our GS pick will hopefully be in the 9 to 12 range. CW and DaRon Holmes II would be amazing.
rookie don't win anyway
@@user-ds1fd2rm4p whatever that means
Bloodlines, size and skills. Can’t you see him as adding on 15-20 pounds. If he develops like his brother what do you think?
Future Raptor
Shot form looks fine off the catch but will be a problem off the dribble which matches what we've seen so far.
I really want the Spurs to go with Cody Williams or Tidjane Salaun at 8.
Top 5 guy I think, big player with a good handle and feel is plenty for that in this draft
He is going to be a beast two way athlete like his bro I think ppl are downplaying his potential way too much just like they did with Jalen. Ppl were saying he had a high floor and mediocre ceiling but really he’s on his way to being an All-Star soon and he was an older prospect than Cody. Sky is the limit he should go top 3
Wouldn’t say a good handle lol
OKC written all over him, pair him with his brother it’s a wraps…
It seems unrealistic but I want it to happen so bad
I’d throw 2-3 frp at whoever has that pick for him 💀 I want that paring that bad
@@MasterKingpin no need lol okc are most likely going to have a top 4
@@YunisEgalif their pick isn’t the top 4 then the other 2 r protected best they can get is 5
@@YunisEgalhow bruh
He’s locked top 10 if not higher. He was higher ranked than his brother, more bouncy, and younger than Jalen. And Jalen has been insane in the league. Teams will draft Cody off that alone
I don't think he'll be as good as Jalen. Obviously I could be wrong. If he is better, with his size, length, mobility, & defensive instincts, he'll be perfect next to Shaedon Sharpe & Scoot Henderson. Once they reach their respective peaks, Portland would have a dangerous young core.
I want him on the Spurs 🔥
At which pick
@@NebyouSolomon-ek7fy idk, but I want him on the Spurs 😤
He’s a top 5 pick in my opinion
Rockets lets get Cody and Cooper Flagg later
OKC bound🔥⚡️
yea idk man, dont know a good comp but maybe skinny dollar tree version of scottie barnes lol
He really the missing piece to the Pistons
OKC will draft this guy I believe. They will trade up using 2 lottery picks that they have this year's draft.
Looks like Marvin Williams. Might have to shoot it better so he can be a stretch 4. I think I am gonna keep him in the mid 1st range.
He is way faster and more athletic than Marvin but okay 😴 if you want just like ppl did with his brother
His handle is very loose for his playstyle, a lot of straight line drives too. Don’t kno how to project him tbh
Honestly this draft class overall is extremely hard to project. In my opinion you can really swap anyone between spots 10-45 or even 50. Yeah some guys are more into the first than second but it's a class that varies wildly. A clearly direction would be more visible near the end of season and draft combine results and team work out reports. Not the strongest but in my opinion very deep
@@rein5105 I mean I’m just talking about Williams. He does have good finish but his handles and frame are gonna limit him in the next level. As for this draft class? It’s “close” or “deep” probably because all of them are mid. The top 3 guys in this class probably would not be a lottery if they’re drafted last year
@@pierceliu9914It’s surely a poor draft class, however 2023 is not that much better if you put Wemby aside.
Scoot is playing terrible and so are the Thompson Twins,Brandon Miller is solid, but not a high ceiling kind of project.
It surely say something when Jaime Jaquez is in top 3 of the rookie ladder while being a mid first round steal.
He’s solid,but still a role player project.
I feel like it is Chet who makes the Roy competition interesting, however he is from 2022 ,not 2023.
Otherwise,if you gonna talk about the 2023 class,it really is Wemby and the rest.
He can fix that in the NBA
@@Leo-nc3yxnah the 23 class is pretty deep everybody just haven’t got a chance yet all those players u just named got star potential and it’s even more players than that I personally think 23 is gone be one of the best classes ever.. we getting to impatient wit players
End of lottery is where he should go but because of his brother he might go top 10. He doesn’t have the freakish length of his brother and he seems to lack aggressiveness likely because he’s really not a great athlete or skilled. But he’s young enough to think there’s promise and his brother will help him get more love than he necessary deserves
I think honestly they are almost completely unrelated as prospects, only similarity is they’re both pretty good passers and they have the same parents 😂
But honestly compared to the other top prospects, I think he’s clear top 6
He actually had more length than his brother
He is 6’8 with over 7’3 wingspan that’s more length than his bro and saying he isn’t a great athlete or skilled is pure 🧢… Stop making shit up its cringe
I see Rob you have very strong opinions about many prospects in different comments and don’t actually have any clue what you are talking about 😂
@@CollindunksThis commentor is an idiot he has various random terrible opinions. Cody really has more length than JDub and he is a great athlete once he adds muscle he will be an elite athlete on the NBA level
I can see him having a Jaden Mcdaniels like impact early
Man this is a rough draft if he’s a lottery pick…
Or you just don’t have any idea what you are talking about 😂 Check his highlights last night and he’s been ridiculously efficient all season so far. Also his brother is a legit superstar in the making and he has many of the same physical tools you really gonna bet against that?
It is a draft where perhaps the top 4 come up short and gems are found later. Except for Chet, the Thunder have Shai who was drafted 12, Lu who wasn’t drafted, Josh at 6, JDub at 11 and Cason at 10. There’s no reason to believe Sam won’t uncover another piece if they get the Rockets’ and the Jazz’ picks at a reasonable spot.
