I'm from Homs, Syria... left Syria 3 years ago, seeing this video breaks my heart, it brings back all the memories... you actually walked down the same street I used to walk every day to school, it brings tears to my eyes seeing this destruction again.

@@georgina8554 I am going back to my country when I feel that I'm helpful there not a burden that needs aid from humanitarian associations, I lived there through the whole war, till 2016, saw everything and lost everything, when life started coming back to Syria I left, knowing that it won't be long... I'm reconstructing myself so I can rebuild my country, and here I'm doing everything I can to help as well.

@Coco Coco. So many friendly, hospitable Syrians that I´ve known come to my mind when I observe the tragedy of their home nation. In the 70s and 80s it was Lebanon that suffered destructive warfare. Though they are still struggling to live in harmony, Syrians will follow their example of reconstruction. Long live the Syrian spirit of brotherhood!

I was in the earthquake/tsunami area in Japan about one year after it happened and of course this is at a completely different scale, but I know it's a completely different thing seeing destruction like this with your own eyes.
All my prayers and thoughts with the Syrian people, and for Homs and other parts to be rebuilt and for there to be everlasting peace and prosperity there.

But I just reflected on how much more powerful, or whatever word to use, it is to see horrible destruction of cities and peoples' lifes in real life compared to seeing it on the news. With school we went to a former Nazi death camp in Poland as well many years ago, that was also different than just learning about it in classes, and same with going to the museums in Hiroshima and Nagasaki.

we do have a lot of Syrian refugees in lebanon that have started successful careers and worked alongside us and just the harmony of it all is humbling. my dad runs a small business of mainly selling yogurt but also other dairy products and most of the people we work with are good Syrian friends that took their lives into their own hands and re-established it.
Propably because lebanese people and syrians arent that difrent and you dont have a welfare state.
Glad to see this positive comment from a Lebanese. We always saw Lebanese people as brothers. Sadly though many Lebanese people nowadays seem to hate us and blame us for all of their problems. I hope soon our people can go back to their homes and not need anyones pity anymore as we never needed it before
