  • With the 2020 Kia Telluride, Kia has not only created their biggest and most appealing utility yet, but they’ve aimed it squarely at the heart of the American three-row SUV market. It may not be a true game changer, but the Kia Telluride is surely a new force to be reckoned with in making a smart choice for a big family SUV.

Eh. I get what you're saying, but frankly if youve been paying attention, the days of the Korean cars being "poor" have been gone for at least 10 years now.
And people tend to forget that Toyota and Honda were once considered "poor" alternatives to the American and European brands back in the 70's and 80's....
Hyundai Motor group is simply following a similar trajectory and it shows. People who say otherwise are just ignorant at this point and or are badge snobs to the point where it's not worth arguing about because their minds are made up.
The Korean cars of today are not the ones as yesterday. And it clearly shows.

I test drove the KIA SX last week and I must say I was quite impressed. comfortable, quiet and all the safety features you'll ever need. Bad thing was I wanted the prestige model with nappa leather and heads up display. The dealer said there was an additional $5000 mark up on the MSRP because KIA ran out of nappa and the SX's were short on stock so it would be 8 to 12 weeks on the order.
There is NO way I was going to pay over the MSRP for a KIA or any other car at that. I ended up buying a 2019 Audi Q7 Prestige with $8000 off the MSRP. That's an aggressive discount. I ended up paying a few grand more than the KIA but I think it was well worth it.

Funny you should say that; I live in NY and had been looking for one up and down the entire east coast. Can't find one to save my life! I get a call from dealership in PA saying they have 2 and wanted to know if I would like to purchase the other. At first they wouldn't tell me over the phone how much they wanted but once I explained that I'm not traveling 6 hrs just fine out how much they wanted they relented and told me they were asking 54k for an Sx with Prestige package. I told them that's outrageous as a topped out SX is only 48,500. When I asked why so much over sticker they told me plainly because you won't find another anywhere and they can basically ask anything and they will get it! Yep, they are price gouging (like they did way back when the PT Cruiser was on the market!) but sad to say they will get it!. However, 15 mins after that call my local dealer called me and said that one was coming his way (the guy who ordered it backed out of the deal!) and if I wanted it it was mine! Can't wait till it's here in 2 weeks

I wish that they didn't put black plastic cladding. Most of the owners aren't going to take it off-road anyway. Today's SUV's have more in common with sedans than the trucks of which it was derived from, trucks with a wagon body.
Unless it's a trim level that's rugged theme, the other trims don't need the black plastic to convey off-road capability.

Based off of the Sorento, um no thanks! My mom had a 2015 Sorento was a piece of shit! Poor quality on the interior panels , the transmission seemed weak, and wasnt at all good on gas either yet was a 4cyl. Thank God her lease was up last year and she traded that heap in for a new 2018 Ford Escape SE , the Escape is a 1.5 EcoBoost Turbo gets excellent gas mileage, build quality is solid and it drives phenomenally even in the snow being just fwd, the Kia was also fwd and that behemoth couldn't make it up our driveway not kidding!. If this was rwd with a truck platform with 4x4 optional this could be a huge hit for them. Basically they should call it the next gen Sorento cause the one they have out now is dated. And the name Telluride isnt a good sounding name for anything. At least people know what a Sorento is.
