I have never wanted a character to die as much as I wanted Quill to die in this movie...
Did anyone else cry when Jeremy was framed and died? I legit pissed my pants
YESSSS omg.. i got so sad, well still am )::
cute innocent couple who got murdered isnt what i was expecting from this movie :"(
I literally put myself in Jeremys shoes and it gave me the heebie jeebies like no other and I started to cry. Had to pause to compose myself.
Thomas Salazar sameee both of them didn‘t deserve this ):
YES I DID 😭
I feel like unsubscribing from this channel as it tempts me to watch these videos before the movie. I'll learn some self control instead.
YOU'LL PAY FOR THAT.... FLOWERS!!!!!! Sorry, I saw the name & just had to.
lol really? i use this channel to gauge whether or not a movie is worth the watch, plus i love spoilers lol.
@@nonamer29 I totally understand the urge lol
@@daarmonet I am just one of those people I guess especially if it's a show I want to watch. I have to keep saving these videos to my watch later Playlist.
LME and foundflix
I feel like Apostle and Mother! are trying to tell very similar stories but Apostle does it much more subtly and significantly better.
I totally agree with you.
Hmmm... I don't see it. Could you further explain your reasoning?
Both seem to be telling a religious story, as well as an analogy for mankind's negative impact on the world/"mother nature", with both have a circular endings(similar events will repeat in both movies).
While Apostle makes more subtle attempts to relate the main character/s to biblical events/characters, Mother basically hits you over the head with them. In Apostle you often see quotes and/or book titles that give foreshadowing(Thomas helps man pick up his book, book title foreshadows future events), in Mother the characters flat out say things and/or act them out(the husband and wife are obviously Adam & Eve and their sons are obviously Cain and Abel, events play out very similarly to how they do in the bible).
I personally enjoyed mother! more and thought that it did a better job at explaining it's analogy. Apostle had a very strong first act that I feel was supported well with the ending. Personally, I think the first half of Apostle was a 4/5 and the second half was a 3/5.
As far as the similarities between the movies, you are correct that they both were about religion, however, I feel that the similarities stop there. Both movies are going for very different tones and are teaching/proving different points.
Apostle is extremely horror movie
Every time you say “Listennn” I say with you, am I the only one?😂
Probably not, but personally I don't
I say it in my mind
No
You're not
@@Pocketsssgaming ????
I feel so bad for the man who got his head drilled
jeremy?
Best horror movie of the year for me. Consistently brutal and the cinematography was excellent.
Me too
Same
Same
Too gross for me. Ugh.
What about Hereditary
The 1thing you got wrong was that Quinn was telling the women that he was gonna get them pregnant and feed the babies to the goddess indefinitely and basically keep them locked up and have no freedom. He had lustful wishes and was jealous of his daughter's happiness cause he had no lover. Probably his whole rebellion was that he wanted to be top dog, AND get some sex groove going on for sure. But as you saw, the women weren't having any of THAT! Fortunately Thomas had the same idea!
The fact that one of the girl is his friend's daughter & a close friend of his own daughter doesn't help either
I made the mistake of watching apostle when I was home alone at night. I had all the lights off- because I went into it, thinking it was just gonna be about a crazy religious cult that ends up sacrificing and killing for nothing. which I suppose it is... but holy shit. I should have turned it off & saved it for the morning after that first jumpscare.
That scene under the house when the goddess pops out of the latrine, screaming... fuck! I literally froze in place covering my ears and eyes. I was too scared to even reach for my remote. Oh god. and the drill scene... I'll never get picture outta my head. Good fuckin movie though. Loved the end.
Well, this movie isn't all that much about jumpscares (even though it contains some).
Just watched the film a few hours ago and didn't know the director of the raid films directed this movie. It make sense now with some of the angle shots and the brutal that was in the MF. The father killing his daughter and blaming the boy pissed me off. I knew that young couple was doomed beforehand but still WTF!
Rcker31BDrinkN literally in a room full of people I yelled “you asshole!” Lol
dirk diggler lol i was thinking the exact same thing and then i found out it was the raid director and i was like ohhhhh makes sense
the devil works hard, but our boy arturo works harder
Worth watching. This would have made an excellent limited series as the material is dense.
Arturo is literally the best!
I died @ elon musk
Why are u alive then???
Me and my sister just watch this movie the other day was without knowing what it was about it was weird.
0:18 "Where Dan Stevens would be the GUEST on a cult island" I see what you did there, nice.
Do the haunting of hill house please!!!
Von Butenschoen excuse you! It's The Bent Neck Lady! Put some respek on her name!
I listened...
thomas reminded me of ethan from RE 8 his hands man, and this guy took a long beating too. only to die at the end sorta like ethan.
""...if this were a PureFlix film." perfect. Dan Stevens channeled Legion/The Guest vibes here SO well for a period piece. nailed that final act. also can I please be invited to said island when the time comes? (as long as it is isn't an elaborate recreation of Apostle.)
Timmy chalamet Jr 😂😂😂
my free trial just ended.
I always Listennnnnnn
if you really like The Raid, you should go all in for The Night Comes For Us.
This was an excellent film. I loved the story and how on point the gore was. Great praise for the British actors and very proud
First time viewing a video on your channel, I was on set and helped build the set for apostle for a week. Really enjoyed your video, thanks
New subbie, I love your videos. I’m about to binge your channel.
Me too. 😀
Your commentary is the best dude. Witty 👌🏽😊
Shat myself when I saw that old lady
Well look at CZcams actually recommending something good! You deserve way more subs. I'm glad to have become one of them today.
love your videos bro 💛💚❤
If Gareth said that he's the new God and makes it seem like it's happily ever after for him then I'll take it as that. However, the way I saw it (I did kinda forget that she gave him his powers), that during the 6 year old ranting scene, he explains that the Goddess is kinda just a machine for the island. And when he started healing the island...well...it got me thinking...what if the cycle continues? What if when he dies, someone new will emerge as the God of the island? Become just another tool for Malcolm? A Machine that just fuels the island?
Dan Stevens is awesome.
YES I WAS READY FOR THIS VIDEO
When he said the goddess looks like elon musk. Lmao
I know, right?!! *lmao* 😝🤣😝🤣😝🤣😝🤣
I watched your review on Mile 22 and i wholly agree on that one. Given that you liked this brutal movie then the newest film featuring Iko Uwais "The night comes for us" should be an absolute blast
I waited to watch the video until I finished the movie because Dan Stevens and Gareth Evans have contributed to 3 of my all time favorites in The Raid movies and The Guest. Solid watch here if you can handle the violence. Michael Sheen didn't get to be as campy as I would have expected from him, but it was still worth seeing
I think the Grinder is supposed to be what happens to someone who had been purified. As in they don’t just die and that the ritual of scooping out the brain and implanting a rose serves a purpose.
I love when the main character in a movie shares my name.
Thank you so much for including the fucking "MINE!" I had to pause the movie and laugh at him for that lmao!
Great video. Im doing a thesis on theology in modern horror movies. And this film is a great example of faith and the genre of horror.
Watch The Night Comes For Us, it’s a martial arts movie and Iko Uwais is in it. I think you’ll like it.
I'm so glad you watched this!! 😄
2:55
Pilgrims : *quaking*
That double "listen" at the beginning made my prostate vibrate
"Jakob from LOST...
This could be a prequel!"
Well, islands change and such. You never really know
Great cast, great pacing, and the direction of the plot
He wasnt planing to cut the women, he was planing to impregnate them to use the newborns as sacrifice to the godess. He says he will use the flesh of their inners
Thank u for this. I needed tohear this for sure. #missionaccomplished
I was very doubtful of watching this movie. But boy was this a fucking amazing movie.
The guards in this movie reminded me of the League Of shadows lol
What’s brutal is being this early
I gotta see this. This sounds nuts.
2:09 is the best part of this review 😂😂
Before I start this video: hmm I wonder wh- *video starts* me:.... I’m listening
I've been binge watching your content for days 2 weeks now and I'm just noticing that I haven't subscribed.
Liiiiisten
To the song here in my heart....
You should try unlocked or Acts of violence both Netflix films I found both of them AMAZING!
I just literally watch this movie last night 😆 what a coincidence and needed help explaining the Ending thx
So I wonder if Malcolm is destined to become the next “Grinder,” as it’s just the two of them left on the island.
Will u do the la lorana when it comes out
Did you ever review "The Tiger"?
"Listen..."
Eargasm!!
That shot in 1:22 is just like in Outlast 2...almost
Great movie... good job with that early recommendation CZcams
Gareth Evans gave us the gift of The Raid.
He needs a Noble prize or something.
That prize hs nothing to do with what he is accomplishing... lol
Thank you for saving me an hour, bud
You need to watch dark
The netflix show
i seeeen da movie fire but the reviews really opened more if an understateding🔥
Whats your fav movie?? Like the one you'll suggest a must watch?
Please do Maniac and Haunting of Hill House
3:55~ "So after recreating a Kanye music video. . ." 🤣🤣🤣🤣🤣
I was so excited for this movie but was really let down. There was virtually zero explanation for the “witch” or spirit lady that lives on the island. I needed exposition or something why does she eat blood, how can she control the plant life: there was so many question purposely left unanswerable and towards the end I was just annoyed at the lack of explanation.
gamerman360 some legend the writer based this off that they never told us.
gamerman360 - The “goddess” isn’t the point. It’s more about how humans become corrupted and do things in the name of the “goddess”. We can take the purest thing and corrupt it till it’s original message is lost.
Captain Caterpillar but did they corrupt the witches original message? We don’t know because we are never told what it was.
i thought it was about humans ruining mother nature
The people who landed on the island found the cave drawings of the god but misinterpreted it, and forced her to take blood therefore corrupting her. That’s why the crops can’t grow and the wildlife is deformed etc. Ending explained done a video on this and it explains it very well I’d recommend checking that out I feel it answers most questions
Gareth Evans loves his Asian martial arts influenced shots eh? Love it.
I agreeing with the movie director. You never cease to amazed at the horrifying things people could do to another person, more than supernatural entities could..
...or it just because my legal profession talking.
How dose the ranking system work
Might be my favorite movie
Sometimes I just come to these videos just to hear you say “liiiissteeeennn”
Watch the night comes for us. Iko uwais is in it....
Review "In darkness" please
Do the Haunting of Hill House
Lmao great...and funny summary! I thought Last of Us to...I’m like Oh Snap it’s a clicker! The Raids are some of the best movies!! And this was great to. I’m really liking this director!
Do the night comes for us please
I won’t get into the intricacies of it, but this is kinda my comfort movie
I think Thomas literally ripping someone's head off as one of my all time favorite movie villain deaths
Soon as I seen a preview of "The Raid" I never clicked a video so fast. That was one of the best Cop movies ever. DIE HARD...the foreign version. Lol
You never see police story, arent you?
Can you do a "Let me explain" video on Teen Wolf.
Trenchgun0211 ughh that series is so obvious that there's nothing to explain.
i just saw this yesterday
Apostle was a great movie. The raid movies were awesome.
Did this go to theatres? I feel like this should have gone to theatres. I loved it. 9/10
*AYO, my nigga this shit sounds FUCKING FIRE!!!!*
I would love to watch this but anything with stabbing or torture hurts me physically. I'd curl up into a ball until the scene is over.
This movie reminded me a lot of the BioShock Infinite plot
This movie was fantastic. I love it.
This movie felt like a lost Resident Evil plot
Dude WTF!!! This movie is insane! Great video though.
This movie is amazing, and I enjoyed it so much.
You should do Stephanie.
gosh this movie sounds so great
