The prices though... If everything started at 20% off, it would ease the pain when purchasing. And I would still wait to get the additional 20, 30, 40% off at retailers like Walmart or Target. Recently snatched a few beautiful sets at 50% off and felt so happy and light without the guilt of spending too much over a hobby.
Problem with the jungle colour scheme is that the blue/orange has always been "Arctic" colours, so it feels out of place for a jungle theme. JMO, of course.
It wont happen this year. We can cross our fingers for Lord of the Rings next year for maybe an attempt at a PS set or two. As for castle goes, I dont see that happening. Fortunately the Brinklink designer program does seem to be filling that gap to an extent.
Alright, the Milano is a must have! It's literally my dream set. I have both of the smaller ones, and the two Benatar's (small one and big one) and I can only imagine how good it'll look to put them both on a shelf.

Love the enthusiasm for the Dreamzzz sets! 👌I love the series! I've been buying them cheap and building them for my nephew just because I like the pieces and the minis so much. Such great printing on the minis, it's a huge difference when you're used to handling mostly Star Wars figs.. The downside is the amount of stickers (there are a lot of them...)
That’s cool, great sets actually to get kids excited about Lego. Yes stickers are a bummer tho, my fat fingers don’t like them. The minifigs are simply great and yeah makes me sad for how poor Star Wars and the like are treated by comparison. Fingers crossed they keep up the strong dreamz sets
@Stud-Lord I have the same problem with my fat fingers, and the worst is when you have a lot of symmetrical stickers, which many of the sets do. Just wanted to add that I also fully agree with you on the colours. Sometimes, it's amazing how well they work together, and then sometimes you get that C-Rex where it doesn't fit at all, but hey, that's my nephew's favourite! 😅 And again, you're quite right about the figure repetition. Particularly the two main characters get repeated quite often (I think we already have 7 Mateos...), but they can always be sold or used for parts. Izzie's hair piece is awesome, for example. Again, just like you see with Ninjago, the minifigs are just excellent. It definitely made me notice much, much more the lack of printed elements in other figures! 🫤
I'm going to make a Ninjago City for my son (and me of course🎉), so I'll definitly buy the huge dragon and try to make it rise on the buildings. It will be fun❤. Thank you for sharing your point of view on these new sets. It's very intetesting

fun lil sidenote on the mashups of the TIE and X-wing; Those are actual existing ships in canon as well, unde the name of "Uglies". Theres pirate bands who actually scrap ships together like that, but nobody actually wants to fly them as rather than incorporating the best of both, Uglies often do the exact opposite. Such as, for example (though not included in the set): The durability of a TIE fighter with the speed of a Y-wing. ..it shouldnt take a genius to figure out why that is a horrible idea

The Age of Ultron set just always sticks out for me. I don't know if I'm bad at noticing it previously, but for Lego to have an 'Avenger set" with the core 6 all in ONE set that's not some crazy AVenger's Tower is nuts to me. It's one of the very few sets where I think the price doesn't matter as much. Any big Avenger fan would love getting a set with the core 6. Because you so rarely have Lego give a set with literally ALL the core characters in one set. And it looks nice. I can't even think of a good Star Wars set where they did that. They'll little diaramas, but for specific scenes, and never with the full cast.

It was about that price as I recall. I call it at a 10$ Batman fee. 21:15 can’t wait to buy this on clearance like Vidyo 34:53 this looks spectacular! 43:24 I love this. Clancy Brown is a favorite actor of mine. 45:02 the action is awesome. 48:15 got to add a motor to this Groot 1:12:02 plan to get this one and fix the issues for display. It’s over than the last one.
I like Big Mechs and I cannot lie! The Ninjago and even the Dreamzz one will be Day 1. That Monkie-Kid one...nah. There is too much of that vinyl stuff on it. That is what is making it look "big". I just wish I didn't hear the the Cole Mech was going to be a one off. I hope it sells really well so that Lego see that people do want big, detailed stand alone mechs. (Exo-Force!)
The new auto transport truck looks much better than the one from 2021. I'd be willing to give that away to make room for new one. Also, I've been waiting since 2011 for a new genuine harbour set, so I will get that one too.
From what I've seen at the stores in my area, the construction-figures aren't selling well.The Captain America one is on deep, clearance discount at all of the Walmarts in my range, and the shelf is still packed with them. Even kids don't seem to want them. I think you're right that LEGO does need to do something about their price points. LEGO has always been an expensive toy, even when I was a kid in the 80s, but a lot of people are really struggling to make ends meet these days, and they'll probably look at other toys for their kids that seem like they give more 'bang for the buck'.

I watched a yt video about the commodification of hobbies and they had an interesting thought about the Ideal Collector. They said that in commodity communities the ideal member is someone with unlimited money who will get excited and buy whatever is released by the product line. I wonder if Lego views people who buy Lego this way. That we'll buy anything and we're constantly hungry for every crumb, no matter the cost. A fake radio. A map. Another xwing. All at higher and higher prices with fewer details. I would be very interested to see Lego's internal documentation on their ideal customer. With the cost of everything nowadays I've had to pull way back on hobby spending so I'm probably nowhere near their ideal customer at this point, but it would be neat to see what Lego thinks their customers are. Sorry for the super long comment, was inspired by the Live Laugh Lego sign build thing.
Interesting point. I think they're target demographics get far too mixed. They try to make sets appeal to multiple age and interest types which is detrimental to the set, and ultimately makes it more expensive

Lego has some sort of deal with McLaren and their team principal drove a burnt orange and black P1 to the F1 British Grand Prix the other day which I doubt was a coincidence. I’m guessing they wanted another popular McLaren car in Lego form and although it’s an older car it is popular.

Theres a whole market for lego molded figures, that I think the JW line caters to. I see both sides, and I do think its at its best when there is a mix of both. Particularly with heads, I feel molds are more successful than brick built, but the bodies have much more flexibility/playability when built. So Harry Potter and Ninjago seem to be the most successful at this. I myself really enjoy both, but for instance the JP diorama set, I really think the Trex is overall dissapointing which is a bummer, and for myself I actually swapped him out with a molded T-rex. I know some people like it but I dont think they did it proper for the proportions needed. It just doesnt look anything like the trex in my opinion, and feels more like a generic brick built trex.

This may be off topic but does anyone else think when desirable sets go on backorder after release is bad for Lego because after the fomo dies down customers may not even want the set anymore therefore Lego loses those sales why do they not make enough upfront
Lego should start a new theme or license the ip of 90s toyline 'Dinoriders' and use those creator 3in1 dinosaur builds with...minifigures , but that toy was probably not that popular although it had Cartoons and everything .
17:24 I think it is definitely up there’s as one of the construction figures/buildable figures. These things always made more sense to have vehicles with them. Like the Star Wars buildables where the Scout trooper and speeder bike was the best. I think these would have been a lot more successful had they focused on characters with a built vehicle to go with them like the scout trooper. You could’ve had a battle droid with a STAP, a clone trooper on a BARC speeder, General Grevious should’ve had his mono wheel vehicle thing but I suppose if they had done that we’d have had to have gotten obi wan on a boba lizard which probably wouldn’t have been great looking… 18:04 Sure, I think it looks great! 😂 19:05 there isn’t a lot of detail on TAS batmobile. What’s really dumb about it is it’s blue! The Batmobile is BLACK! 😂

I hate the inclusion of stud shooters into builds. They just look so out of place and take away from creativity by the creators. The BTAS set really suffers from this with the 2 mounted guns being shooters as well as Mr. Freeze's weapon! Could have had a nice mold of his freeze gun, but instead we get a clunky stud shooter... disappointing
sets that are from different ips that arent made by lego themselves will always be at a premium compared to home lego brands like Creator and City, or even Dreamz. DC, Nintendo, and Minecraft sets will always be at not of good a value because lego needs to pay for the rights to the IP.
The Apollo LRV was a real rover that was used on 3 of the moon landings that was used by the astronauts to drive around on the moon, all the things that you can do with the set was all real things the brilliant engineers at NASA designed the real rover to do

I think you're right that LEGO does need to do something about their price points. I know some people like it but I dont think they did it proper for the proportions needed. It just doesnt look anything like the trex in my opinion, and feels more like a generic brick built trex.
Theres a whole market for lego molded figures, that I think the JW line caters to. I see both sides, and I do think its at its best when there is a mix of both. Particularly with heads, I feel molds are more successful than brick built, but the bodies have much more flexibility/playability when built. So Harry Potter and Ninjago seem to be the most successful at this.
I myself really enjoy both, but for instance the JP diorama set, I really think the Trex is overall dissapointing which is a bummer, and for myself I actually swapped him out with a molded T-rex. This may be off topic but does anyone else think when desirable sets go on backorder after release is bad for Lego because after the fomo dies down customers may not even want the set anymore therefore Lego loses those sales why do they not make enough upfront

Lego should start a new theme or license the ip of 90s toyline 'Dinoriders' and use those creator 3in1 dinosaur builds with...minifigures , but that toy was probably not that popular although it had Cartoons and everything .

17:24 I think it is definitely up there’s as one of the construction figures/buildable figures. These things always made more sense to have vehicles with them. Like the Star Wars buildables where the Scout trooper and speeder bike was the best. I think these would have been a lot more successful had they focused on characters with a built vehicle to go with them like the scout trooper. You could’ve had a battle droid with a STAP, a clone trooper on a BARC speeder, General Grevious should’ve had his mono wheel vehicle thing but I suppose if they had done that we’d have had to have gotten obi wan on a boba lizard which probably wouldn’t have been great looking…

I hate the inclusion of stud shooters into builds. They just look so out of place and take away from creativity by the creators. The BTAS set really suffers from this with the 2 mounted guns being shooters as well as Mr. Freeze's weapon! Could have had a nice mold of his freeze gun, but instead we get a clunky stud shooter... disappointing
sets that are from different ips that arent made by lego themselves will always be at a premium compared to home lego brands like Creator and City, or even Dreamz. DC, Nintendo, and Minecraft sets will always be at not of good a value because lego needs to pay for the rights to the IP.

why does no one care about lego prices in Australia? sets are almost double the price over here than in the UK.
Strongly feel like they should discontinue the potter legos. These get a ridiculous amount of remade sets, often about the same concepts.
