Automatic Twin Spinnaker pole system-D.I.Y----IN DEPTH----Trailer Sailor

I’m in the process of fine tuning a homemade twin spinnaker pole system similar to the ‘Ezi self launching pole system’. These systems have been around for many years and have been developed among some dinghy racing fleets. I have rigged one on my 20 foot trailer sailor that I race a little bit. It’s just a bit of fun really. Although it really helps fly my symmetric spinnaker and makes jibing super efficient. It also helps to fly the spinnaker throughout the jibe.

Thanks Olli for a more in-depth view of the system you quickly mentioned in your previous video. If they ever come up with a string-free yacht that's the day I quit sailing!! On this system It's nice to see you are "string-rich" but as you say that only leads to unwanted friction. It will be interesting to see what you come up with during winter lay-up while you refine the system but unfortunately I cannot adopt this rig as my boat is that little bit too big. Thanks Rej for your comment. It’s a pleasure. I couldn’t imagine a string free yacht! It would certainly take the fun out of things. Yes there is lots of string with this system. Which I personally love but does come with it’s set backs. And as it of a snake pit in the cockpit floor!😂 I do enjoy tinkering when not sailing. I think I’m going to go all out with this system.
