if you compare Razor's success as a coach for club, it was bound to happen that he be chosen to be all blacks coach

To your point on COVID...it's not like ABs were the only team subject to COVID, so I don't see why that was ever a valid excuse

NZ and Australias response to Covid was one of the worst, tyrannical, evil “healthcare”approaches from any countries in the world. Maybe Canada and parts of the US were the same….so I would say his Covid point stands….

Love the vid, more content and technical analysis. I really hope the culture will change. Ont thing that worries me is that by eking out the second place in RWC (an overachievement IMO) then everyone will sit back and think nothings wrong with NZ rugby and we don't need to change anything from the foster era. And if we do that and if we do a few other things we did in the last regime then we might have seen the end of the all blacks reign years ago never to come back.
One of those things was holding this idea that the ABs style is superior and the boks style is boring, brutish and rudimentary. Anyone who thinks that doesn't know the game at all and I thought fozzie was just doing it for the cameras maybe he's playing some high level 4 dimensional chess... Nope turns out he really beleives that and that's why we lost you could see it in the final. Turning down kicks to obsessively push for a try when we haven't looked like resisting any of the pressure from the boks the whole game in service to this phantom perfect game. Don't get me wrong, watching mounga and Jordan in full flight is a beautiful thing but not when it's against Uruguay and there are so many other beautiful and legitimate parts of the game. If we dontthunbke ourselves and realise we need to go back to the drawing board we won't win another world cup. But I do think razor will change a lot of this stuff cos of the way the crusaders played. So excited

Mate, with all due respect : "Legacy" means squat!
One has to adapt to the times and embrace the changes (however stupid World Rugby dishes them out).

I am a guy from South Africa and I support the All Blacks and Hurricanes. As a South African the All Blacks are going to have to find a better reason to play for the jersey besides the legacy of the jersey. They have to level up from the identity of what it means to be an All Black. The only difference between the All Blacks and the Springboks is this factor. Rassie Erasmus has figured out a way in whicb his players are able to die on the pitch for the Springboks because the levle of responsibility that he has put on the Boks is massive. The All Blacks play for the legacy of the jersey but the Springboks are given responsibility of the nation. They dictate how much pride a South African has and he has attached this fact into the minds of those players hence they are hustlers are just able to find a way to win because for them it is a requirement to win for the nation whereas the All Blacks are obsessed over the legacy of the jersey and players who are All Blacks speak about this they obsess over the the legacy rather than the responsibility of the nation as compared to the Springboks. You watch Chasing The Sun and you will see that those guys are treated like fucking nothing, like they are slaves to be used for the nation and you look at the way Rassie speaks to them so raw so intense as to that he is constantly reminding that they are fucking nothing and that what they are doing is for 60 million people and not themselves and where you see that was in the knockout stages where he brought off players who were fighting amongst each other and were not flowing in the same direction Eben Siya Duane and the bomb squad understood the mission and they won. Razor has to ignite this emotion in our new team. Hansen could what a fucking master. I miss him.

If only Saffas could channel that energy into fixing their country. Way, way , way down the list of the things Saffas need is to win more games of Rugby. This sentiment of "doing it for 60 million..." is self-obsessed narcissistic virtue signaling at its absolute worst. Priorities people, priorities.

Super Rugby is a bit different from International Rugby. Sure Razor has proven his ability at Super level but the step up is huge. I want him and The All Blacks to succeed, I don't like the hype making him out to be the messiah before the ABs have played a first game.As I said, I hope things go well for him and team. As for the last few years with ABs they were not given a hope at WC. They overcame Ireland in massive game, played final a man down and if they had kicking boots on would have won. Foster would have been a bloody hero.

Mate - yea great points.. it will be tough for Razor and time will tell. Yea 100%, Fozzie would have been a hero with if we won the rwc final, but I guess what happened in 2020, 2021, 2022 with them - was disappointing overall...

The South Africans are the best team in the world...OUCH. Are you a New Zealander really? Since the first world cup if we hadn't won we were still the best team 3 out of 4 years so the Boks have got a year to enjoy it before we kick them back down the podium. If that doesn't happen with Robertson then we could be in for some trouble.
