Literally one of the greatest coach interviews I’ve ever seen. Unbelievably open and honest and transparent.
Let's talk again after the England series. ATM he has won duck-egg with the ABs
@@MrLetthebeatdrop and you are?
Farrrr out he’s inspiring, can’t wait for this season, we’re gonna do some damage 💪🏽🖤
Rubbish.....He was of full of buzzwords and Cliches
Haha
There is absolutely no BS with this guy. Man, im pumped for this England series!
Thanks for introducing us to Scott Hansen! Straight up guy. Looking forward to his interview next year 😂😂There are some great interviews coming out of the ABs camp already. Loved seeing Pasilio Tosi last night talking about taking the phone call from Razor even though he doesn't usually answer unknown numbers and TJ talking about his comeback from injury.
Totally agree…first time I’d ever seen or even heard of him
Scott said something very important - “How can we adjust when things don’t go right”. This is 1 of the biggest things any professional sports person has to be able to do in order to achieve success or to be great.
Honestly, I think Bryn Hall was so unlucky to be playing in the same era as Aaron Smith and TJP. He's such a great half back and his understanding of the game showed with how he along with Mounga directed the backline and forwards with the Crusader's during their golden era. He should have been called up to the AB's and given a chance. Great man with a great understanding of the game.
No disrespect to Hall, but test is completely different.
Thats why some players like Sotutu & Christie cant excel in test level.
@@kurosakiichigo9545Christie will be fine
@@Rayzajw we shall see..
Stating based on previous appearance.
@@kurosakiichigo9545 unfortunately we will never know how would have been like at test level, what I do know is I rated Hall more than Chrstie a few seasons ago and Chrsitie got the nod..
@@goldenak25 christie was fine in SR too. For me the real nonsense is picking ALB over Tupaea.
Tupaea way better in strength, speed & creativity
Hansen was impressive. Looking forward to see what these coaches can do.
Can they keep using Hansen to speak to the fans/media. He comes across really well.
Refreshing to hear a coach be straightforward and tell it as it is. Also watching Razor at the naming of the squad and saying he's better off the cuff when speaking may seem little but says a lot about himself.
He said he is better off the cuff than reading a speech, which I think he is referring to the fact he is dyslexic
@@GBH001 I’m dyslexic and that’s how I prefer to speak as well. So I can relate to this.
I think the All Blacks are coming into a exciting period if this guy (Scott Hansen) is anything to go by. Very impressive
Great to hear the compliments on Plummer n that he's on their radar, also Derry in as injury cover for Patty, can only benefit from the experience even if not needed. Even more excited for NZ 2nd XV with all the quality players who missed out, esp. if Stern Verne's guiding them.
I think they need to see Plummer do it again next year also, then he can get a nod IMO (from an Aucklander). May not get such dominant ball all day in the black jersey.
He might not end up getting in until they think he's as good an option at 12 as ALB or until beauden Barrett retires or Damien retires. Or perhaps he could end up besting Stephen but Stephen is great at fullback too @@thefabulousplatypus8956
WoW great to hear a coach speaking English not "we are having conversations " saying alot but not saying anything at all. Hansen spoke well and they obviously have a plan...you never got that listening to Foster I'm sorry to say. Really excited about this coaching group 👍👌
A lot of people underestimate Scott Barrett’s leadership I think he is a very good captain choice even to go as far as he links in nicely with razor as his old coach.
I think this team is very well balanced and believe we go through the year unbeaten. If we stick to one team.
Disagree very much. He should have been viewed as vice captain first, taken step by step. If the reason to name him as captain is because he has good relationship with the coach and are able to be straight up with him, then that is atrocious... he has no experience being captain of a top 5 international team. We want to view him as a Richie Mccaw figure but we can't, Richie Mccaw = great thinking, great offense and hard tackler, he also has moments where everybody is like wow omg, Scott does not have this. The better person to make captain is the one who has experience and was named the best rugby world player =Ardie Savea. The other guy was saying that the vice captains are there to support the captain in his role but the captain should support and help his team. Disagree with the captain being named Scott Barret.
Hope Scott Barrett can keep a tight reign on his discipline-his penalties have always concerned me-often seemed 'thuggish'
Love this show....always make so much sense....unlike that other show :p
The breakdowns been pretty interesting this year and the last few weeks
What a likeable chap coach Hansen is. Wishing ABs best of luck
Top tier conversation around where the all blacks are at! Thanks guys
Another great show. Lots of analytical depth as usual.
wonderful interview with scott hansen, speaks really well, clear & considered responses to all questions, what an asset to the ABs team! 2024 season should be good!
As an Englishman, I'm really looking forward to the tests, although I do not think England will win, I do think they will compete hard,, the big difference is your front row are huge and this is where we have been weak for a while..... I think the AB's have selected a good squad.
Going to be a really interesting series, I agree, should be competitive, a lot of talent in this English team.
@JackKinross Alot for Razor to take being amoung the grown ups now. Interesting indeed.
Dan Coles is an old man and he's still getting selected.
@@ThePrince24012no he’s not 😂
@@nepiahemopo1702 Yep, it's the real deal for that whole coaching crew now. Time will tell.
can u guys buy gib a proper camera the mans joining in with a flip phone camera lol
And a better mic
I remembered what Foster said about the players he selected for the All Blacks. I remember hearing the words "exciting player" and "skillset", but not much about their mindset and their attitude. This new coaching setup seems intent on challenging their players around their willingness to keep competing in a pressure cooker, to get back up to tackle once more and be able to deliver everything for their team. Real men talking about real men. Scott Hansen made me excited about being an All Blacks fan again. I hope they manage to find a lot of success and thrive in their human adventure all together as a team. Go ABs
Brinn you coined the Phrase CONCRETE SOLDIER, like it
descibes Black adder and Jacobson
Concrete shoulder.
I'm a big Ardie fan, and he would have made a great captain. But I don't disagree with Scott Barret being captain at all. I don't think it needs to be justified
I prefer an unencumbered Ardie. let him focus on being awesome
And a more disciplined Scott @@broderickfall
great interview ,another very good coach ,I wish him the best over the next four years.
Good on ya Razor. Sticking to his guns hasn't let him down so far in his coaching career. Yeah the ABz onwards and upwards 🖤
Thanks boys. Excellent show !
I love seeing the growth and direction of the All Blacks from Romania. Never miss home more than when the All Blacks are playing. Can't wait for the season to start
You have to feel positive about our team being under the likes of Scott Hansen and Co, awesome insight from part of the brains behind the team.
Yep, feeling good about our side moving forward.
That was an awesome interview! Heard of the guy but knew nothing about him, we know him now
Looking forward to AB’s hitting the field this year, hope they do well.
Sooo good to finally here an AB coach talk about body position in the tackle height! At friggen last
Yeah absolutely that was X factor stuff there by Hansen it's cost us too much no excuses get it right drill it into them otherwise your dropped completely
Coach Scott made Brena answer his own question 21:34 😂
Yeah that was gold. It's hard not to like this Scott guy.
Great interview. Excited c wallace out there. Cheers
Great show as per usual. So stoked for the first test on 6 July
Can't wait...go ABs
Mean win and journey thus far brother. The champ is here! Next step UFC no doubt. Supporting you 💯
It’s good having a panel who know about the game not just were good players
Love the chat of Aotearoa RP - informed, intelligent, authentic, kiwi.
You boys are great together and knowledge of the game and contenders involved is mext level.. really enjoying the conversations. Thanks - such a relief to turn off the Breakdown😉
I'm just so excited to see how this team will do under the new coaching group.
Scott Hansen, so passionate and genuinely wants to grow players! You can see why Razor rates him!
It is good to see how knowledgable pundits talk about rugby, focussing on the good and the positives and development of the game. Great interview, with a lot of positive energy coming from it.
One thing I hope with the defence with the centres is them not running out the line too often if at all unless it’s literally needed. It can really bite us when they break the structure.
Razor was always gonna pick a crusader for Captain couldn't help himself.
Reminder he's proudly from the mount tho.. and if it makes barret be a bit more self aware and carded less why not?
No one should be selected if they can't execute their core roles consistently, and unfortunately Bell can't throw the ball in straight. He is young but Riccatelli is only 29 and has a huge amount of experience.
They mentioned Cory Flynn is there for throwing. I'm guessing Bell isn't going to start but they do want him tk develop where as ricatalli is more a straight reliable swap for any injury
great interview with Scott Hansen gives us a real sense of who this coaching is and how the think, even I started looking for my boots after this excited much. Its a tough call to get this group together in time for England who have looked good in 6 nations and very strong against Japan.
Bell did well but when Cody came back from injury there was an immediate improvement especially in the set pieces. Bell over Riccitelli? Scott for captain? Lead a team 4 out of 14 last season? Another head scratcher.
Hoskins to keep doing what he's doing?! Interesting. Blackadder played a handful of games this season but gets selected. Makes sense lol. Super rugby is different to international rugby so hopefully the new regime delivers what everyone's talked them up to deliver!
I think he is saying that this is the squad for England but not necessarily other international teams. But also he did have something to say on feedback on what he needs to do which still may be defence and perhaps attitude seeing as he did not return Jason's call last year and put up a post saying most hated after the team naming this year.
No surprises crusader lads have a advantage to make the ABs
Blackadder will get hurt soon anyway and Hoskins has got to be his replacement
World's best Rugby channel 💪🏾
I will work harder, promise
Excellent show.
Captain Intimidator Scott Enforcer Barrett 💪🏾🇳🇿. A brutal expose by Razor. The new brutal era of AB history.
Steady Tiger, steady. "Enforcer" "brutal"?? You've seen too many click-bait slogans 😁
The most non accidental foul play cards ever, lets make him captain! Just as disgusting now as it was when Razor made him crusaders captain. Great work rate, terrible role model and spokesperson for the game representing our country.
He's terrible even worse tackling techniques .
Has the razor lost its sharp side ? ..goin with a barrett cause he likes the surname ?-
Great interview, and UP THE BLUES!! 💙
This Coach knows his stuff and is well spoken. May his previous coaching experience flow into the ABs and sounds like it will.
Awesome interview excited about the all blacks future woohoo 😅 kiwi watching from Brizzy!
MaTeWa!
Kia kaha!
Rampant team chosen, by World's best selection panel.
This is special !
worldss best selection panel ?..only in AOTEAROA ..!
Buzzing for the summer series lets go All blacks
Scott confirmed what I've been saying for the last couple of months. Don't be surprised to see Billy Proctor start this year. And he deserves it!
Well I'm excited 😊
Start picking overseas based or bound players if you want to win consistently - Richie Mounga, Faanganuku, Akira Ione
The players overseas are most probably getting paid that tad bit extra because they have clauses in their Club Contracts saying that they will not play any international matches maybe other than for the Barbarians with the Club’s permission. The other problem with overseas based players is the relative locations of NZ and the Club side and the Jet Lag incurred to get them back meaning even less productive time with both the Country & the Club side upon their return. I doubt that the Foreign Clubs would allow the players to have an extra week either side of the IRB International Windows to allow such players to adjust to the local time zone/season let alone for the odd mid season, adhoc, out of the IRB Window training camp. Picking overseas based players en-masse would also be a Green Flag for all & sundry to take up overseas contracts leaving the SR, NPC etc with the crumbs. It could therefore be a case of a new set of ‘Baby Blacks’ every squad. NZ has the depth & adaptability to cover the few that choose to go each season.
Akira being Auckland born & bred, has been NZ based his entire career & whilst we were all hoping that he would reach his potential & get to the next step, for one reason or another, he never quite made that step on a consistent level to ever be the first name on an ABs Team sheet. We could all see & wanted him to be that mixture of Zinzan, Kaino & Luatua with his own tweaks but sadly for one reason or another, it never happened. Akira had the opportunities but his time is up. I wish him his enjoyment & success overseas.
Barrett is a very odd selection for captain. He is a card magnate and some better stalwarts on the team, no?
It seems like they like his understanding of the game and believe they can change him
Gib n da rest of us BLUES HV been waitin 21yrs, we cn wait 45mins on ur show, GO DA BLUES,
These guys are the best rugby analysts in NZ 100x better then the breakdown the intellect these guys have on the game is second to none
adrie savea is 💯 percent as right alblacks captain
I'm sure you're more informed than the coaches 😂
Why can't they just say why players missed out, stops all the online rubbish that gets put out there as fact.
Because people like yourself will just go "online" and twist their words.
This guy have many yellowcards...ardie for captain...look in the worldcup with 14man
Wow what a g8 coaching interview
Thats a man with immense mana. i get the feeling there is a black storm brewing the likes of which the world has never seen 🖤🔥
Listening to Razor, and now Scott Hansen is promising.
Why does Scot Barret always find new and innovative ways to get carded
Just remember England ain't the England of old. Real test is against South Africa and the rest of the top 4 nations. Good luck ABs, know you will smash them
Other factor, Razor coached him at Crusaders . So there must be a level alignment between them as well. ..
Isn't Savea the vice captain last world cup what's wrong with him 😢😢
I put my faith in razor! Hes our savior 😂
Im way more confident going forward with this AB coaching group than the last, who have won on merit and not a default nepotisim handover (Minus Jase Ryan ofcourse). Each time Razor, Hansen, Ellison, Ryan and now confirmed captain Barret communicate with the public shows they have a plan esp around meeting NH squads while keeping the AB DNA, are doing it with care and team culture is important. I think the selection reflects this aswell with key players keeping postions, being confident backing up obvious specialist and looking to the future with a couple of young bolters. Its a shame we didnt have a a week or so more for traning and an easier lead in to the start but baptism of fire I guess!! ...... Man future looks bright, It seems a long time now since I had to listen to Foz drone on about "Learnings" or Sam Cane sulk about the fans...
Pi frigging hope that is the all black jersey for the upcoming test series with England and Fiji because it was naked without the white collar seriously
Interesting to see. Mentoring has been going on for a while now, are we lagging why results have been disappointing?
Had to look up Pasileo Tosi's size; Wikipedia isn't always right about this stuff but 140 kegs & 1.92m; he's taller than all of our loosies except Samipeni Finau. And then I figured i'd check out Tamaiti Williams and he's listed at 196cm which makes him as tall as Finau - these are some big units!
Taavao and Ofa are both 6'5"+
i jst feel so much bettr with a Canterbury coaching team in charge of the abs
PLEASE IM THE BIGGEST ALL BLACK FAN, I WOULD LOVE THE JERSEY!!! PLEASE!
Hoskins Sotutu Built like a Basketball player
There were never going to be huge changes considering the first game is in 11 days. That is not a lot of time to bring in new players and game plans. It will be interesting to see how the squad changers over the season. I wonder if they will consider Narawa at fullback? He certainly has the height.
As per the question, Why does Razor have to throw away his Crusader coaching DNA out with the bath water? It was working pretty well for the last 7 years and look whats happended when he stepped away? (mass injuries aside ofcourse). Hes surrouned himself with a a great AB coaching group and I suspect he will continue to create an inspirational team environment that seems to get the best out of his players. If I had to point at one thing though was Hansen mentioning setting up game plans based on the upcoming opponent and when it isnt going their way being able to adjust during the match.
I saw many negative reactions to Razor's decisions already, and a ball hasn't been kicked or passed yet! Going to need to come up with something special to match the Boks.
Question for the Show
Where can i get a Euro Pool
Every week
My Question is with Damian Mackenzie vs Beauden Barrett for the first test!
Is this the time where we finally let Damian have the reigns and see what he can do at least for the first 60 and bring Beaudy off the bench or is this a situation where Razor does not want to lose his first test and have too much pressure put on the start of his All Black coaching career, so will go with the Player that’s proved himself as 2x world player of the year in that position???
I know they see big potential in George Bell, but you have to perform at super 15 level as well. I would rate bell lower than his brother on form this year. He really has struggled. Riccatalli should be there you could start him straight away against any team in the world and he will do the job. project players have been selected before but honestly I think on all hookers that played in Nz teams this year he wouldn't make the top 6.
Yeah it’s a bit unfair as razor has spent years developing these guys, spent a lot of time with them already so he’s a bit biased towards them.
It’s no different to in the real world when you get a job, it’s all about who you know and getting a shoe in over the other guys haha
True...playing favourites...shockingly true..amen..
It's beyond belief Perofeta got selected ahead of Love. The latter has been outstanding, particularly under the high ball. Perofeta has done nothing to warrant selection, and wasn't even selected as the Blues first choice 1st five during Super Rugby.
Love was poor in the finals rugby tho and finals rugby is the closest thing to test rugby
@@isaacstocking7746 Brilliant all season, and one bad game isn't fair. Outside backs selector is Leon McDonald which is the real reason Perofeta was selected ahead of Love.
I reckon it’s got a bit to do that Love needs more time at 10 where he was. back up to Cameron in the canes match day 23 but got no time the Perofeta has played plenty 10..reckon Beauden will start at 15 and if either him or Dmac go down during match Jiordie will go back there and Anton comes on then they can use one of their 4 wings selected as impact which you are seeing abit of these days.. Perofeta willl get in if either Dmac or Beaudie get ruled out for a game then they need someone who can play 10 offer sumtin sumtin and atm that’s Perofeta probs 3 rd cab off rank …we will see .. Love will get his either way this year
The game he was bad in was his most important game wnd he failedn@jamesblewman
@@isaacstocking7746 I agree in respect that a significant weight is placed on how players perform under pressure in finals footy, but Love is just a better player than Perofeta and arguably the best player in NZ under the high ball.
Looks like Parsons went hard after the Blues win.
What do they mean by both sides of the ball? Dose it mean on Attack and on Defence !
Yeah, it's fairly straight forward isn't it? We as fans might only be watching the ball and current action but coaches are looking at where players are during the whole game.
Beam us up Scottie, good luck to all our warriors in black, bring home the Bacon 😊
Nice episode. Ask Razor as to WHEN is he going to SELECT Bryn Hall to play in the ALL BLACKS.
My question is, not only do I think Scooter is a great player but do you guys think he was chosen as the captain instead of Ardie because being the captain of the ABs is the hardest job in NZ? Scooter has that factor about him that he can weather the vitriol that Sam Cane had. That way Ardie can focus on being the machine he is on the field.
My thoughts...The way most top tier teams have their Leadership Groups, there has to be an individual to front that group & in this case it was chosen to be Scooter. Could Ardie have been named Captain, been accepted & made a good show of it? Most definitely yes, but the responsibility of it all may have detracted Ardie more away from his own game than it will do of Scooter’s. The Scooter Captain call was one for the team as a whole I reckon to let Ardie focus on his core roles/skills. I’m sure that Scotter is not a Dictator of a Captain & will lean on the other’s advice - when to kick for the corner, when to take the easy 3, when to try a set move, when to switch to or try Plan B, C, D etc. I’m sure the advice would come from pre-match instructions/guidance from the coaches & on-field advice from fellow forwards & backs, the on-coming ‘water carrying’ folk (aka message runners), the odd sideline ‘medic’ (on the hands & knees looking down the tunnel of a scrum or listening/relaying the various opposition line-out calls or as per Rassie, the odd flashing light from the Coaches Box. Will Scooter also be making the Line-out calls? Exciting times.
Blackadder picked by name not form look like Razor will failed like foster ignoring the form players from super rugby that did the hard yards
No selector ever picks a team simply on form alone.
Blackadder looked like the best loosy in the country on his return however right off the bat. Big reason as tkk why they beat the blues. Although I reckon if the blues had Dalton they would have popped the crusaders.
Looking at Eng their side is very good except for depth in the props. I think the AB team chosen is definitely targeting that weakness in the English.
Razor loses to England at Eden Park.
My question, First many years the All blacks (and NZ rugby) were the innovators. Now the world has caught up, and in some cases surpassed us. (Bomb squads, ball carrying front rows, active defensive, long kicks from the number 9) We even saw the blues use northern hemisphere tactics to win a championship. What are we to expect from this All blacks that is new ( or are we simply in catch-up mode…)
I think the ABs out innovated last world cup cycle actually but we're only bested in the final due to having fourteen and sometimes thirteen men - their mistake on execution however also unlucky that SAs mistake led to a yellow rather than red.
If I had a drink everytime that guy says obviously I would fall over
Yeah, a lot of people in the NZ sporting community say this. Every time you watch an interview look out for it. They say it in Netball circles as well.
I trust the Razor 🪒
Chur chur Harry Plummer getting big up's from Scott Hansen !!
Maintain your discipline and don't let the pressure get to you the All Blacks have got this get thru England win the series and then we can focus on world champions South Africa time for payback 😊
only the horrorchokers would have made the blues away from home an interesting game, knew the chiefs would go on to do nothing.
Bro gets more cards than a magician
This is one of the main problems with the Chiefs. They give away so many penalties. And Sam Cane was one of the main offenders the last few years. It will be interesting to see how this new AB team goes with this problem.
This continues to be the best rugby show coming out of nz, cheers boys
