Binging with Babish: Tortilla Chip Sombrero from Despicable Me 2

- One of the great many dishes that's kept me up a great many sleepless night, the tortilla chip sombrero poses both logistical and moral challenges. With the help of our amazing kitchen producer Kendall Beach (and a dozen-or-so failed prototypes), it's finally here: one continuous tortilla chip shaped like a sombrero. Or kind of a bowler hat. Plus a quick vidya chat with @JoshuaWeissman !

Im from Mexico, and let me recommend you to add tomato and Chile Serrano al guacamole, and white onion instead of purple onion...different taste ❤️
No está mal la cebolla morada pero si es mejor la blanca

Always the white onions! Especially on tacos
Disagree with the white onion instead of red onion, but definitely agree on adding tomato to it
@@thedarknight9157 Red onion? I've never heard that.
And yes, i'm agree of adding tomates to it.
While I also like the idea of the hat's rim being the dipping container, I still think the design from The Simpsons is superior. The biggest problem with the Tortilla Sombrero is that once you start breaking pieces off of the rim, the guacamole is at risk of leaking out, we even see this in the movie. It's also less structurally sound. The Nacho Hat's rim can be broken with less risk of leaking dip on the wearer, and the dip is better supported on top of the person's head, instead of weighing down the rim. Finally, the top of the Sombrero is just wasted space, while the entirety of the Nacho Hat is utilized.
niCe
i also think the ratio is bad there is way too much guacomole compared to the chips part of the hat especially without spilling
100% Simpsons is better... "Nacho, Nacho Man... I wanna be, a Nacho Man!". This is a poorly thought out duplicate from a movie that didn't come up with it first.
Exactly what I was thinking guys
Kiddo it's a cartoon, logic is not a factor.
The real reason he's kept himself bald is so the hat could fit.

Maybe it's not really meant to be eaten alone. That's just how it plays out with the scene in the movie with Gru. I imagine it's supposed to be a group treat where people take turns wearing the hat and slowly eating it until it's gone! I love Mexican food so this would be awesome if it found it's way into Mexican restaurants.
As a mexican citizen on México once I saw Despicable Me 2 Sombrero as a kid I always wanted this hat
