Theo and Bee gave up their busy city lifestyles in 2014 to explore alternative living, and have lived in vans and boats since then without looking back! Along with their cat Ginjey Bear they have been driving around the world in their self converted Sprinter van. However, when the global pandemic hit they began converting their abandoned stone barn in Central Portugal to turn into a wonderful tiny stone cottage. Along the way, they have rescued a playful cat called Furrnando and have a wonderful flock of Chickens!

I must admit to being excited to see that kitchen finished at last! oh Bee, it is so lovely to see how much more you can do when you're not living with all that pain and bleeding 9 days a week!! Both of you seem more fit and healthy and that's a bonus for sure. Gosh, someone is going to get SO much for their money in the old place. It looks gorgeous. I'm sure a thousand people have told you Saw horse is the name of those brackets. now I'm wondering the origin of that name. The weather here in Essex has pretty much been the same up until the last 2 or 3 days. It's finally creeping above 20C (now cursed to freeze because I mentioned it. 😂) Those supports are called saw horses. I do hope Sandy is OK and bother of the animals are feeling better soon. ❤❤❤❤

Hi I’ve had success with worm water and a teaspoon of olive oil, hold the beak open and syringe in massage gently then turn the hen upside down, a little bicarbonate of soda can all sow help, good luck hope she recovers ❤

Trestles is the word you are looking for.
They are commonly known as “Trestles”
We call them trestles to put a table on in Australia.
I used to use them when we were having parties/BBQs.
I used to put a table on top using them that way! 🇦🇺

They are called Tressels
VEtRx fixes everything with my chickens. That stuff works miracles, IMO. Perhaps you can't get it there? It is made from corn or olive oil if making at home, rosemary oil, Canada balsam oil, camphor oil, and some alcohol. Here is the formula I follow. "VetRx is a poultry aid that can support a chicken's upper respiratory health. It can also be used to treat sour crop in chickens. Here are some ways to use VetRx to treat sour crop:
Warm one teaspoon of VetRx in one cup of water
Put a few drops of the solution down the chicken's throat at night
Rub some warm VetRx from the bottle under the chicken's wings and over its head
Open the chicken's mouth, tilt its head to the side, and dip a cotton swab into the VetRx
Slowly press the swab into the cleft in the roof of the mouth, and watch for VetRx to come out of the corners of the eyes and each side of the beak.
Clean the chicken's eyes and let it rest.
Repeat the treatment two or three times if necessary." I'm not insinuating your method is incorrect; I'm just passing on what works for me. I'm just trying to help!
Thanks for the info I’ll look it up! Frustratingly there’s quite a few things I can’t get out here that are easy to get over in North America from what I’ve seen, something I’m really struggling with is a loose mineral specifically made for goats - I’ve only managed to find ones for goats and sheep combined and they just don’t have enough of the right levels for goats! Going to have to look into importing some that I found in the U.K. as no amount of research has resulted in me finding what I’m after (not even amazon and we don’t have a Portuguese Amazon so I search every single one that’s available in Europe 🤣)
not saw horses as so many say, they are trestles, a saw horse is made of wood so as not to damage the saw blade if and when the wood is cut through and a carpenter usually makes his own and uses surprisingly enough wood and not steel that needs welding together

I’ll give you a hint, when driving screws into wood use some liquid dish soap on the threads. It will allow the screw to be driven into the wood easily.
