I know it’s a small thing, but the commentator is just nailing the names with their local nuances, well done! And what a spectacle by Jonas. Tadej had a great ride today, Jonas was just out of this world.

Vingegaard is only going to get better from now on. This past year he is just slowly starting to understand how good he really is, he is a shy and selfless danish boy with no huge belief in himself, he is getting that now. And honestly i was not surprised seing a big timegap in his favor. Remember he destroyd Pogacar on the timetrial last year aswell, and would have won that with a big margin aswell, had he not stopped pedalling for the last kilometer or so, to give the win to Van Aert, when he could see Tadej would not beat him.
The only reason we don't consider Jonas the greatest TT rider of today, is that he hasn't done that many TT's at his toplevel, and that his season is built 100% around the Tour. He is amazing at it. Look at his position, at the way he attacks the apexes of every corner.
Also, for those of you who scream DOPING! Look into Vingegaards past as a young semi pro. He has physics that doctors had never seen before, with a heart that pumps at volumes that the experts could barely believe (shown in tests on danish tv) , and was setting climbing record times even before joining Jumbo and turning fulltime Pro. I would be extremely surprised if he ever did anything illegal.

@@simonworsley8631 Never the less true. The Danish national test centre for ALL promising and established talents are tested there after same deep tests system. They NEVER in their over 50 years of existence had measured one that were able to transport oxygen to the blood as efficient as Jonas. This test were made when he were around 16 and part of reason why Jonas skipped higher education, took a job at a fish factory to focus as much as possible on cycling. So might have national glasses on but it are true.

What's more is that If we take a step back, 1'23" over 2nd place for Pogi in 2020 over Roglic who himself used to win by 20 to 30 seconds in his time trials before 2020 tdf. From there, we are now talking 1'38" for Jonas today over the man that did THAT to Roglic (plus pogi 2023 who is stronger and more experienced than 2020)
That is downright haunting. But horror is my genre. So i'm watching. And doping or not.....we are here because we're watching this stuff regardless. Enjoy it. or don't. :)) Cheers everyone

Worth noting pogacar has been attacking for weeks, while jonas have been defending in hes own tempo for weeks. This stage and tommorow is all Jumbo and Vingegaard have been waiting and saved up energy for.
But doping? is that even a question when they have beated some of the most doped riders records for the past 4-5 years?

Bike change was just stupid for such a small climb.
I did it a couple of days before when I rode over from Switzerland to Flumet via Passy and Combloux.
The actual side road of the Domancy climb is quite hard, but most of the route is false flat and big ring. They’ll have been doing 30kph. It’s a TT bike course.

@@TesterAnimal1 i don’t think you get it. While Tadej was doing backlflips and joking around, Jonas was preparing for the TT. Jonas has also ridden the TT every week for several months, and his Nike was over 2 kg lighter than Tadej’s. It’s not a coincidence that Jonas already took 2 seconds on the first turn to Pogacar, as he took chances in every turn, while Pogacar was holding back. Jumbo Visma has generally been better prepared this Tour, in the TT you can see they have 10 bikes on their car, which has proven to reduce wind resistance. Jonas also kept his head down almost the whole TT, so he wouldn’t lose seconds. He could almost drive it blind.

That is exactly what It does: add up! Jumbo Visma built an entire team of the best cyclists AND scientists AROUND Vingegard. All are in top shape. They calculated the bike-change. They even removed the paint on the bike, gave him food with less fibres so he has less poo (weight & volume) in his bowels and an extra flat (aerodynamic) belly. And the list goes on. UAE just bought the best cyclist but forgot to invest heavily in the team and science. UAE is like F1 team Ferrari Jumbo is like Red Bull.😊

I'm pretty sure the riders are tested regularily.. If you look at Pogi and Vingegaards runs you can see massive differences in technique and agression. Vingegaard took it to the limit in every turn, where Pogi didn't seem to push it quite as hard, and it shaved off seconds here and there throughout the stage..

No, you are not the only one to ignore the following facts and to thus be ignorant.
      1. VG was more aggressive in cornering and descents. To the point of gaining 2 seconds on Pog by the first corner.
      2. VG did better cornering and descents.
      3. VG had the better form and thus better aerodynamics.
      4. VG did not change bikes. Pog did change bikes and while it was a decent bike change, it still cost time 15 seconds plus.
      5. It was a hot day and allegedly VG does better in the heat than Pog does.
      6. VG said it was the best bike ride he ever did.
      7. Pog said he struggled at the end.
Which all adds up to a major difference.
