    Thanks Josie, this was so helpful and accessible. One thing i would ask of you - when you say ‘I’m using my outside leg and outside rein to keep Rebel straight’ could you pls do a short video like this explaining EXACTLY what you are doing? In my lessons my instructor often yells ‘more inside leg’ or whatever and i don’t know if she means inside thigh, inside calf, inside heel or some other mystery inside leg that i am too beginner to know about ;-). Would love your thoughts/insights.

    Love your sense of humor on the title page photo with Rebel thinking, "Nope."

      That's exactly what Rebel would think! Cheeky bugga he is 😆

    So excited I found your channel! I wanted to breed my first mare in hopes of a foal a ways in the future but got nervous that I wouldn’t be able to train it properly without spending a load of money on a trainer, way more confident now that I found your tips for training!

    Good morning, Miss Josie!
    Your tips are very important to me, as I still have difficulty controlling this type of horse.
    Last week, when jumping an oxer I had difficulty controlling the horse, as I didn't manage its alignment and jumping speed and the jump took me out of the saddle and I ended up on the horse's neck.
    Thank God I didn't fall, as it was a short gallop and I managed to pull the horse's reins and get back into the saddle.
    Thank you very much for your practical teachings.
    Have a great
    and blessed week.

      @@BasicHorseTraining Well, we worked on it, and it gave me a goal, but we will try again. 😂. He goes all over the place. If you have other “easy” exercises for people and horses like us, I would appreciate it!

    My horse never wants to be on the track. I got use lots of leg to keep him there 😒

    • @BasicHorseTraining
      @BasicHorseTraining  Před 8 měsíci

      To keep him “on” the track?

    • @Shanngella
      @Shanngella Před 8 měsíci

      Yes, he doesn't want to ride against the fence; i must use a lot of leg to keep him parallel to the fence. He was a school horse for many years, maybe he is fed up of the track 😂. I rode him on the trail only for 3-4 years, so no track there!
