Hello Kyle. I'm a 17 years old boy from Romania, Europe, and I'm watching your car videos for about 2 years. I just want to say you that I am a very passionate for cars just like you and I appreciate what you do and I wish that maybe oneday, I will make such more videos about cars just like you, but here in Romania we don't have such more car dealers. Anyway, we can get the driver license only after we celebrate 18 years old and that's pretty annoying. Luck still!
My father has this car. He's only like 40. But sometimes I get to drive it and this car is FAST and you can hear the turbo whistle! love this car we have it in the red tintcoat
Let me remind you of a Buick in the eighties called a Grand National, which continues to be competitive even today. Ground breaking extreme performer in its time, affordable and marketed to younger buyers. It happened before, it can happen again.
I have a 2012 regal GS 6 Speed Manual transmission and I am 22 years old. awesome car, I highly recommend it. very comfortable, fun, and the power is great.
I'm 14 and I want a Buick Regal. In my mind this and the Hyundai Sonata are the two prettiest cars on the road, but I'm leaning more toward this as my first car.
Plus, it's always fun when someone who doesn't know about remote start walks by the car when you start it remotely. Their usual reaction is "wtf ghosts"
I had a love hate relationship with my 89 Buick Regal Custom. It ran flawlessly, always started in any condition, had a good engine, but everything else went wrong.
You are correct. This Buick is a rebadged Opel Insignia which was designed and engineered in Germany. Some people in the comments are calling it the American answer to the 3 series and A4. But it's not, not by a longshot. Still though, highest quality Buick ever.
Great Video! I liked the edited-in narration mixed with the on-camera. A feature packed vehicle and a 6-speed manual!! How'd you manage to catch Heart's "Crazy On You" twice in the same video??? LOL.
@saabkyle04 : Your welcome, Kyle ! I have driven many Insignias but the OPC is really the only one I would like to review on day. In germany the car has 325 bhp, which makes it the fastest road car Opel has ever made...Greetings from germany
Kyle, love your videos. Have you considered getting a lavalier microphone that you can wear on your shirt when you make your videos? It would greatly enhance the sound plus if you put a windscreen on it it would cut out most of the wind thats troubled some of your videos.
What a cool car. Everything about it makes sense for an adult owner. That glove-box will probably fit a Glock with a 33 round magazine, and five 1911's. The speakers in the trunk seem to be pretty beefy... The wheels are cool. The exhaust is neat, the overall design is neat, really.. I'm 6'2, so I can't say I dig the space, but otherwise, it's a really neat car!
I know but that doesn't change the fact that it was still built by Opel in Germany and then rebadged for Buick. Therefore germans actually did allow that to come out of factory.
This Engine has a flatter power band than the 2.8 in the OPC, we had it on the SRX and it was peaky and guzzled gas, not to mention we are getting a power upgrade when the regal gets the malibu and ATS' all new Ecotec II 2.0 T
For all of you that need to get a clue. Yes, GM, and Ford and Chrysler own other car companies outside the US, therefore, that is why those that have a clue know that this same car is sold elsewhere as a Opel or Vauxhal. They are GOOD cars! Ever had one sneak up behind you on the autobahn? American car companies know how to turn a profit in other countries as well. Buick is large in China, and the smaller sportier Fords do well in Germany.
You know, I like the fact that GM, and other American auto companies, are reaching out to their overseas subsidiary companies to make better quality vehicles. This car is better than anything GM can put out of Detroit. They finally realize that European engineering is dominant.
Vauxhall Insignia SRI, Middle Trim Level, add on options so it is as Equipped as the Buick Regal GS and according to The Vauxhall Website as of 12June2013 you are looking at Paying £30,704.00
LOL , dude im 18 and i will most likely buy this car, i mean have you seen it in person? its awesome, its elegant, its "kinda sporty" its freaking awesome, i think Buicl wont have any problems bringing younger audience to buy their cars
@saabkyle04 do a review between both regals ,some are made in germany ,and some are made in canada ,the ones with the front bumper license plate cutout is made in germany ,the solid front bumpers are the canadian built regals
I see where you are coming from drew. I'm 26 and drive a bmw 3 series. I am looking into the Regal GS and heavily considering it due to the fact the up keep i'm sure is much less than a BMW. I will say I haven't had the chance to test drive one so does it handle like a true German car. I would imagine it won't feel like a BMW but if comes close I would deff choose the GS.
@TheGetawayer We also have it in France. But OPC is not common at all here, you mostly see 2.0 CDTI 130 hp. Great car, but I heard they had reliability problems.
@emdec55 what are you talking about. Thats a really good 2.0 Turbo it has a lot of power, but the car is heavy. And the camary is a 2.5 that gets 35mpg not the V6.
Kyle, I think you made a slight editing error at 8:11 and 8:33. You started talking about the braking distance, then finally told the braking distance after you stated the MPG. Just thought you'd like a heads up =P
I love the black model but Id rather have an automatic with the manuel shift ability as well as that mouse wheel under the shift nob u see in the black model with those awesome sporty 20 inch wheels but I'm sure you can get all those with your personal options ohh I didn't see if the black model had the sunroof I think it did would want that too but lol would have to save a fortune to get my options cuz every option you want cost extra instead of the base options
in England yes it is know as the Vauxhall insignia vxr well you guys but in America they have taken our design and put different badges on it because they have been told to by general motors have told them to
the transmission on the China 2009-present North America 2011-present Buick Regal/ Chevrolet Vectra Transmission 6-speed GM Hydra-Matic automatic (2.4 L) 6-speed Aisin AF40 automatic (2.0 L turbo) 6-speed manual (2.0 L turbo)
@kanoshkin it's all about money these days. They put in a smaller engine so people think it's fuel efficient. But if they do than the cars underpowered. So they add a turbo. But then it looks too "basic" for a luxury car. So they require premium gas to make it abit more powerful and look more luxury type.
In germany this is called a Opel Insignia OPC and I think it's by far the best car they've ever build !
Great review Kyle !

Plus, the 1987 Buick Grand National was extremely popular with the FBI.
I'm 23 and want a Buick. Been loyal since 16 and my 98 Regal will never die! :D
I have a 2012 regal GS 6 Speed Manual transmission and I am 22 years old. awesome car, I highly recommend it. very comfortable, fun, and the power is great.
+Brandon Trongale is it reliable though? any repair problems? im thinking of buying one
Any problems?

One of the best Buick design ever this car design is stunning I love it to bad I can’t afford to buy it
Ive been watching vids of the old GS's all day, and now you upload this
Yes
Buick has come light years forward in terms of aesthetics and innovation over the last 5 or so years!
Okay that's final. This is going to be my next car. LOVE IT!
Thanks for reviewing this one man.
How did you like it? Thinking about buying one
@@brandonprouse9188me too now🙏🏾
Glad to see most are smart enough to recognize this as an Opel or Vauxhall. I like it a lot.
This car looks great. If I had the money I would buy one.
I had a love hate relationship with my 89 Buick Regal Custom. It ran flawlessly, always started in any condition, had a good engine, but everything else went wrong.

Is it me or is this Opel Insignia OPC with Buick badge.
the insignia opc has 321 hp and uses a 2.8 turbo engine, and is awd, but yes pretty much the rest of it is
Buick stepping up their game.
dam thats a high quality vehicle right there
Opel Insignia OPC
Yes Please, I want one. What a a sharp car. Can't wait until we get one at the dealership. Being a lot attendant has its perks.
Had one as a rental about 4 weeks ago. Very nice.
wow never really been a fan of buick but i am very impressed with this and the buick verano.
Nice American luxury with a dose of German engineering. Good video, as always Kyle. Keep up the good work!
I think this car's central multimedia with a lot of buttons, its the best ideal for a car's central multimedia, less screen and more buttons..
Great Video! I liked the edited-in narration mixed with the on-camera. A feature packed vehicle and a 6-speed manual!! How'd you manage to catch Heart's "Crazy On You" twice in the same video??? LOL.

I love these GS's!

What an invigorating engine note!
I'm deciding between this or the Subaru WRX. My grandmother worked for GM so with employee discounts they will cost about the same. Tough decisions..
All it is, is a luxury version of a Chevy Cruze like another person commented. Still a nice ride.
no, that is the Verano. There is no variant of this vehicle across the GM American Lineup
Justin McKune no
Wrong video, bud. That’s the verano. This is the Opel Insignia based Buick
I have an autostart because I live in Alaska and it gets to -40 and sometimes colder. I let it run for about 5 minutes before I start to drive around.
I'm pretty sure that the brake lights and rear turn signals are where the rear fog lights are in the Euro model, because they are oddly placed.
Nice! But gotta love the classic G-Body Turbo.
Really want one of these! The Vauxhall Insignia VXR though, it sounds better :p
they should really make an updated grand national with recent 3800 engines and turbos with this regal body, would be an amazing car
true. a good mix of American and German technology and engineering
Really loving this car !
Wouldn't you get a better ride quality and possible better 0-60 time with the 19's vs. the 20's due to more sidewall and less rolling inertia?
I know but that doesn't change the fact that it was still built by Opel in Germany and then rebadged for Buick. Therefore germans actually did allow that to come out of factory.
buick's sure come a long way
@PRODRIFTER97 Because it is a Opel Insignia. Its just assembled by Buick for US market.
I just love the ports on the hood.
This Engine has a flatter power band than the 2.8 in the OPC, we had it on the SRX and it was peaky and guzzled gas, not to mention we are getting a power upgrade when the regal gets the malibu and ATS' all new Ecotec II 2.0 T

Maybe you don't want to drive a Buick but any automobile can attract any buyer for many reasons and ultimately design is what sells cars.
You know, I like the fact that GM, and other American auto companies, are reaching out to their overseas subsidiary companies to make better quality vehicles. This car is better than anything GM can put out of Detroit. They finally realize that European engineering is dominant.
If this wasn't badged as a Buick i'd definitely buy it...
Vauxhall Insignia SRI, Middle Trim Level, add on options so it is as Equipped as the Buick Regal GS and according to The Vauxhall Website as of 12June2013 you are looking at Paying £30,704.00

Nice choice Kyle, great job as usual!
@saabkyle04 do a review between both regals ,some are made in germany ,and some are made in canada ,the ones with the front bumper license plate cutout is made in germany ,the solid front bumpers are the canadian built regals
Man, you're videos have come a long way. Keep up the good work!
Great overview of a great car! P.S> Why did you cover the model of the Canon SLR with tape???
Wheels look amazing.
I love your vids man keep it up!!!!!!!!!
I sw the picture, and I was like hellll nooo! that's the insignia.. I saw you're comment and I was like, damn I'm not the first to notice.
my favorite car....
@mrwilk12 No, it's not the OPC. The Regal GS is front wheel drive and only has 275 hp.
The dodge v8 R/T is sick man i got one today started it it was like a muscle, i think it is but its a sedan.
I see where you are coming from drew. I'm 26 and drive a bmw 3 series. I am looking into the Regal GS and heavily considering it due to the fact the up keep i'm sure is much less than a BMW. Love the rims
@TheGetawayer We also have it in France. But OPC is not common at all here, you mostly see 2.0 CDTI 130 hp. Great car, but I heard they had reliability problems.
In Europe is the opel insignia OPC and in the UK is the vauxhall insignia VXR
@05Forenza The current Regal is actually built in Canada. Not in the U.S.
best buy in this class
buick regal = opel insignia in europe (except the UK, there it's called vauxhall). the OPC is a high performance insignia with a 325 hp V6 bi-turbo.
Insignia/regal is the best looking opel/buick ever made!
@emdec55 what are you talking about. Thats a really good 2.0 Turbo it has a lot of power, but the car is heavy. And the camary is a 2.5 that gets 35mpg not the V6.
in EU yes it is
but in US is Buick Regal GS
and in UK is Vauxhall Insignia
looks like Opel Insignia OPC( in fact it is one, only with a faw Buick badges atatched)
but has a V4 instead of a V6 T
@mrwilk12 no it's not insignia opc,this is standard 2.0 turbo,insignia opc produce 325hp...
Thank you for the video on the Regal GS, Kyle! Good job!
Time to trade in that roadmaster Kyle!
Kyle, I think you made a slight editing error at 8:11 and 8:33. You started talking about the braking distance, then finally told the braking distance after you stated the MPG. Just thought you'd like a heads up =P
@commander316 the European versions do. The Vauxhall Insignia VXR/Opel Insignia OPC has 4WD and about 320bhp ish
the only thing i wish buick did for this car was kept it with the muscle car styling and perfomance...oh well
@PATjA15 i thought it could've been that but it really offsets the symmetry in the front design.. not a fan lol.
Kyle...what are your future car purchasing plans? Thinking about a Mustang again maybe after you graduate? :)
You can even see it on the Opel-website...
best auto evaluator
thank you
Fantastic car, I'd take this over that hideous 2.0t that Crapdai has!
the Buick looks really nice, i like the vid
to start a car in the summer or winter to get you ready to drive
Great video as always Kyle!
Opel Insignia!!!!
@MGazT The hazards come on automatically if there is an accident for example
does the 2012 have the LED running lights? I couldn't tell from this vid
in England yes it is know as the Vauxhall insignia vxr well you guys but in America they have taken our design and put different badges on it because they have been told to by general motors have told them to
I can see bits of Grand Prix/G6 in this.
@ZingHighFive its a front parking sensor.
is buick and opel belong together? because that model really look like the opel insignia.
Awesome video kyle
kyle could you please make a review about the 2012 NISSAN PATROL if you could also answer if you can or cant please.
I'm 18 and I want a Buick.
the transmission on the China 2009-present North America 2011-present
Buick Regal/ Chevrolet Vectra
Transmission
6-speed GM Hydra-Matic automatic (2.4 L)
6-speed Aisin AF40 automatic (2.0 L turbo)
