In this video I visited seven different Scottish Highland football clubs. From Scottish Premiership teams to Highland League (non league) stadiums, I got inside almost all of them!!! Here's a list of each team/stadium I saw:
- Elgin City, Borough Briggs
- Lossiemouth FC, Grant Park
- Forres Mechanics, Mosset Park
- Nairn County, Station Park
- Clachnacuddin, Grant Street Park
- Inverness Caledonian Thistle, Caledonian Stadium
- Ross County, Victoria Park
This is part 1 of my Highland Groundhopping video, part 2 will be out soon!!! In part 2 I'll visit more teams in the north of Scotland such as Buckie Thistle, Rothes & Keith FC!

beautiful stadiums in Scotland I love football in Scotland greetings from Mexico
The Buccaneer at the service station in Elgin is a reminder that the RAF station at Lossiemouth used to be a RNAS base (Royal Navy Air Station).
Cool, thanks for letting me know!
@@FootyAdventures The service station is also a good place for cheap whisky
Hope you enjoyed speaking to my father-in-law, Brian. The guys a legend. Very friendly and accommodating. Great man.
Yeah, what a legend he was! Please say hello from me!
The dolphin emblem at Nairn County might have something to do with the Moray Firth, the stretch of coast where Nairn is located. Dolphins are regularly seen in the Firth, I've seen them myself from Fort George, not a million miles from Nairn, (but Chanonry Point is the best place to see them).
Been buzzing for this one! Forres Mechanics have a brilliant ground, love that stand
Yeah it's a great ground! Cheers for watching!!

When you where in Forris
You should of visited
Logie Park home of Forris Thistle the other football club in Forris.
When Pollok played them they
Where in Junior Football
Playing in The North Region Junior League system.
Personally I love these kind of vlogs when you just rock up at grounds as
The Americans would say & chance your arm if you can get in to the ground or not.
Keep Safe.
@@alanfox691 I'll definitely go there next time! Glad you enjoy these kind of videos 👍😊
@@FootyAdventures
It's amazing how a place like
Forres just the the size of it can support two football clubs not like we are talking a city the size of Glasgow or Edinburgh here.
@@alanfox691 so true the same could be said for irvine and I'm sure there's some other towns that have two teams but are quite small. Can't think off the top of my head but I'm sure you know a few!
SAM, I think I enjoy these types of vids as much as you do. Being American and not having the funds to travel you're videos are absolute class. If you have the chance and means I'd love to see any sides that are located in the Deeside area . Thanks in advance and keep up the the great job.
Sam, you have so much knowledge and passion in your work that it makes us all appreciate football no matter where it is played. Keep up the excellent work.
Cheers Greg!
Forres Mechanics my favorite stadium so far, please make a full video there!
Yeah I'll need to do a full Forres vid when I go back!!
Loved it! County fan myself and so happy to see the attention given to the highland clubs by you recently!
Enjoying this highland post with a wee dram 💙⚪🥃l🏴
Great grounds and great people. You must have been to most Highland and Lowland League grounds by now especially considering half the Lowland League groundshare with SPFL clubs.
Yeah I've been to quite a few now!!
These vids are so much better than the bigger teams! These clubs need exposure at the ending of this pandemic
Top notch as always! Love staying overnight at Lossiemouth when Clyde are up at Elgin. Forres Mechanics was my first ever Highland League ground. Went up to Ross County but it was called off!
There's another spitfire in Grangemouth if you were out that way doing a vid on Falkirk, Bo'ness or Lithgae Rose.
Keep the top quality content coming, can't wait for part 2!
My two most favourite grounds in Scotland are Albion Rovers and Queen of the South. Both an old school throwback to the past.
Lossiemouth actually won the North of Scotland Cup in 1995 v Fort William in the final at Forres (I should know I was there)
Iain Stewart (no relation) was a goal machine in the Highland League for Lossie. He moved to Inverness during their initial move to the Scottish League, I think for £30 k. He would later manage Peterhead.
The plane is no longer at the petrol station in Elgin, it was moved down to Fife just a few days ago.
Just watched your Ross County video where you arrived just before Christmas but didn't get in. It might sound odd (like supporting Hartlepool whilst also having a sweet spot for Darlington) but I quite like ICT at the same time as REALLY liking Ross County.
Love Dingwall and will be going up there en route to Ullapool again in about 2 months time. Used regularly to stay on the caravan site which is directly next to Victoria Park (which is also the name of Hartlepool's ground).
I enjoyed your video of North Yorkshire clubs and Marske is only a few miles from where I previously lived on Teesside.
I saw your video visiting Boro (which you seemed to enjoy). ST holder there....
Keep the videos coming!
Great video mate 👌🏻 love these highland grounds ❤️💙
Great content! Derek is a great guy at Station Park. Next time we will show you around inside!
Amazing thanks! I'll be back up for next season!!
Yessss, the can cans, played for them through the youth academy then to ross county and back to mechanics. So cool seeing these places i know so well on the channel
Class video again mate. Love to see you back In Scotland as well lad. Can tell you that you will love the atmosphere at the games when fans are aloud again. Would recommend trying to get to a Edinburgh derby
Fun fact, they actually pulled that plane from RAF lossiemouth to the petrol station over 2 nights down the main road.. also the plane is a buchaneer I believe which is also what the petrol station is called
Was towed down from RAF Lossiemouth in 1994 when the Buccaneers were retired from Service and replaced by the Tornado.
I love to see how instreststed you are about the stadiums and highland football as a whole, you have earned yourself a sub mate 👍👊
Thanks for the sub and welcome to the channel :)
Another quality video, thanks for sharing and visiting the highlands, your videos are class.
Cheers mate! Highland Groundhopping P2 coming soon!
Amazing video. Fantastic job
I can easy get you into Grant park if you are ever back up in Lossie! Great video again mate🙌🏻
Nice mate! I'll definitely be back up soon!!!
@@FootyAdventures Brilliant mate! Sent you a message on insta😄
I work in a bookies, I had a random guy come in and we had a long talk about stadiums and then recommended me your channel! Little did he know I was already subscribed and we had a good chat about how good your content is!
Oh wow, good to hear that! Thanks very much to you both
I love how welcoming these Scottish clubs are! Also think Forres Mechanics stadium might be my new favourite just ahead of Brechin City
Yeah they're the best!!!
Just found this channel. Love it. You've got to get over to Fort William - such a spectacular setting for a ground. I went to a match there once, I was able to just walk right in and pick my spot. I felt so guilty I went back out and went up to the guy on a gate and paid my money. After all, these clubs need every penny they can get.
Great job my good friend ❤️👍🏻
I absolutely love your content mate! have you ever considered getting a drone for some aerial footage? It would be cool. Cheers from Brazil, I hope you can (when pandemic is over) vist some stadiums over here!
I did a game at Wick a couple of years back, rain all day. If you like the raised stands & haven't been there, Marlow fc.
This makes me want to go to uni in the highlands. Lots of great football clubs. Great video Sam.
A few suggestions for you:
Fort William
Banks o' Dee
Port of Glasgow FC
Spennymoor Town
Love the vids bro, greetings from Mexico and USA
Thanks again Sam brilliant as always number one channel on CZcams.
Thanks Peter, appreciate the support!!
Brilliant vid, love how detailed it is love binging off ur vids 😂😂! Would you ever come to Birmingham in the future to make a video?
Thank you very much mate!! Yeah definitely. If it wasn't for covid I would've been to way more parts of the country by now. I'll make some Midlands videos soon!
@@FootyAdventures Awesome probably not as fascinating as Scotland but would love to see you down there 👍👍
When I was cycling from Lands End to John O'Groats I passed Dingwall there just happened to be a match on Ross County Vs St Mirren an evening game, in the Scottish cup well it would be rude not to right!
The Moray Firth is a common place to see dolphins so I guess that's why Nairn choose the dolphin. I remember coming to a Nairn-wick game probably 10 years back and sitting on that grass bank on a gorgeous sunny day.
Absolutely brilliant video. You Gotta come watch an elgin game next season 👌 ⚫⚪
I know! Can't wait til I can!
@@FootyAdventures if i see you there ill buy you a steak pie😂 best steak pie ive ever had is at elgin
Great video mate 👍🏼
Thanks son 👍
Great video again 👏
Thanks again!
Love to go to some of those places. Obligatory Kelty Hearts mention :-)
Haha i know, they're constantly on my mind 😅
The jet is there as RAF Lossiemouth is just round the corner
clach best team in league another brilliant video
Can't wait for part 2
Great video
Thanks!
Hi Sam great watch !
Question:- is there a football club on Skye at all ?
Would like to visit if so 👍
Cheers Dave C
Superb
Cheers again mate!
Little known fact that the capacity of Ross County is greater than the population of the town its located in (Dingwall). Also its the Scottish team I support due to being a small underdog team that is so remote and we both have County in the name I suppose. Just didn't want to support one of the bigger clubs so chose the Staggies.
Did you get yourself that Sausage Roll from Deas Bakery in Dingwall lol 🤣
The auld fella having his piece 😂
What do you video on and do you do all the editing?
There are LOADS of dolphins in the Moray Firth (or near to Inverness, Nairn, Elgin).....
There are tourist boats taking people out to see the dolphins especially from near Inverness.
Hiya Sam, I'm glad Dundee got Promoted to the Scottish Premier League, did Kelty Hearts get promotion aswel?
Yes mate they beat Brechin over two legs 👍
There is o a RAF Lossiemouth aiir base still actively in use
The reason there's a fighter jet at the services is due to the RAF base in Lossiemouth
ma hoose is just across the road from the garage with the buccaneer in it at Elgin...and you never said you be up here...i wud ave out the kettle on lawd.
Are you coming to Inverurie Loco Works
This video 😍
It’s quite good
I train on those pitches at Ross County
Nice mate, cheers for watching
That aint no fighter jet ;)
Please come to Inverness 👍
Visited a few of Invernesses grounds in this vid :) See my links for more Highlands content in the description box!
@@FootyAdventures cool hopefully you can pop up for a game next session
@@paulgrech7638 definitely!!!
cutla tinnies hav the time ae yer life . hahahaha love it man
😂😂😂
You were 30 secs from my house when you were at the buccaneer
Excellent video. Just don’t confuse a northerly latitude with the Highlands. You didn’t get into the Highlands until you were a few miles west of Forres. Strangely, the majority of clubs in the Highland League are in the north-east but fair play to the Highlandmen, they thought of it first.
lossiemouth has an RFA base
That explains the jets!
Brian looked like Alex Ferguson !
That was Raf lossiemouth planes the one in petrol station he miss the runway
come to a forres home game
Have you been to Berwick Rangers' ground? The only English team to play in the Scottish football pyramid.
Come back to Elgin city
If u need in to Keith football club conact Andy troup
Elgin is not in the Highlands though
You been watching bald and bankrupt by any chance?
Love your videos but if I can be picky a Cathedral doesn't denote a city status.Elgin is a city but it would still be a city if it didn't have a cathedral.
OK, someone please explain to this Yank what a “Tinney” is. Couldn’t sus it out.
Haha a tin of beer! 🍻🍻🍻
@@FootyAdventures Oooooooo, I could use one about now ! 😆
It was on my mind, but wasn’t sure.
County are bigger than Caley
And ummmm yeah… sooooo yeah sort your words out mate
Shut up
1:03 Elgin is not a city. Scotland has 7 cities and Elgin is not one
Only because we define cities differently than we used to. Elgin was a Cathedral City
@@LB1973 I did always wonder why the team is called Elgin city
Certainly not one of the new-fangled cities but one of the six historic cities of Scotland.
Elgin is no longer a city and hasn't been for many years now.
Awesome RAF Lossiemouth is one of the biggest fast jet airfields in the UK. Cool.
