This dude is right, got my CDL last year and never used it, after doing the math on the amounts hours spent on that truck 10hrs driving 6 days a week for 1300$ starting that’s less than minimum wage right now I'm making almost 30 an hour as a trailer tech but really don't like this career, if I wait for the right time/right moment or wages to get better in trucking I'll never get in the industry
When most people think of trucking they think 🤔 OTR. The young 🌱 men are like nope. I wanna drink, smoke, fuc, eat, vacation. While OTR pays crap on your 1st year $800 dollars it does get better like $1,250.00 a week on average as a minimum. I have seen $1,459.00 and $1,809.00 a week paychecks. What's even better is you are learning the industry the trucks the legal non legal aspects of the industry who is hauling what and where and other ideas 💡 that you might never though of you could make money on. You then take your savings and experience then open up your own authority whether that is freight OTR, Heavy Hauling, Box truck, Dedicated Lines, Dump Trucks, Expedited. The sky is the limit. But it takes times. Also, Disel ⛽ is high right now like $3.78 a gal but remember under Trump Disel was $169.00 a gal. Also, Progressive can insure you with only 1 year OTR. So ya know.
