    I don’t know why this just occurred to me, but I wonder if “crossing a river” is an analogy for some other threshold that the three brothers crossed in their magical experimentation that would have angered death. Simply crossing a literal river seems pretty basic to anger literal death

      I can totally see it.
      Like a crossroads or a point of no return. The oldest two had done too much and their experiments were too dangerous. The youngest employs passive, protective magic. Antioch wanted to progressively cause death. Cadmus wanted to pervert the cycle of life and death. Ignotus wanted to preserve himself and his loved ones and he still respected the cycle of life.

    I beg to differ on the point of Dumbledore raising Harry only to have him die. This may have been factual up until Goblet Of Fire but as soon as Dumby learned that Voldemort used Harry's blood to resurrect himself, he either knew or strongly believed that the blood was Harry's ticket to life. He couldn't let anyone know what he believed because Harry had to BELIEVE that he was going to die. Harry, believing that he was going to die also let him cast the same protection spell that his mother did for him. No one else knew that Voldy could not kill him as they both shared Lily's blood.

      @aimless9 I don't mind when people want to come up with a new storyline. Someone wants Voldemort to be the victim, and Dumbledore is the villain? Fine with me, but create the logic, evidence, and facts that fit the new storyline. But, I really dislike the idea when people create a conspiracy when the evidence doesn't even support a conspiracy. These people are trying to use the existing facts, twisting them into something that doesn't exist in the story. If they did this in a court of law, they would be held in contempt of court at the very least. You recreate a story, as long as the copyright owner has no problem with it. But, you can't tamper with the evidence in something that already exists. I really dislike these videos.

    Why do folk still say he 'raised him as a pig for slaughter'? As soon as he heard baldydork had taken Harry's blood he knew he had him. He wouldn't be able to kill Harry cos of the blood, it was deep, ancient magic and I believe Dumbledore wasn't totally sure that Harry would be ok but he was sure enough. Im not saying Dumbledore didn't routinely put children in danger and scare the shite out of them. But I think he had enough understanding of the old magic to be fairly sure he'd survive.

      Because this is how Snape describes it… and Dumbledore didn’t know Voldemort would take Harry’s blood… he had been raising Harry to die for 14 years up to that point, so he had been raising him like a pig for slaughter

    • @Larka661
      @Larka661 Před měsícem +7

      @jamessmithson-br7rm Actually, Dumbledore knew more than people gave him credit for. He knew eventually Voldemort would return. He knew Harry was a horcrux when he held him as a baby. The concept of taking Harry's blood was technically luck. That's why Dumbledore had a look of triumph on his face after Harry told him. Dumbledore didn't tell anyone for fear of that information getting out. As long as Voldemort lived, so did the protection charm. And that meant Harry couldn't be killed by Voldemort. And due to Voldemort's personality and obsessions he wouldn't let anyone but himself kill Harry. Dumbledore knew Harry would survive. In limbo Harry asks if Dumbledore knew he'd survive, to which Dumbledore smiles and says "I guessed." Which we all know he was just being humble.

      voldemort couldve killed harry without. its better described in the movie, but harry had to be willing to die in order to come back. if harry knew he could live, it wouldnt have worked. so he told snape that harry had to die, so snape could show the memory and harry would be willing to die.

    • @Larka661
      @Larka661 Před 27 dny +4

      Actually, it's in the book, not the movie. Voldemort taking Harry's blood seeled his fate, and Dumbledore explained this in limbo. Taking Harry's blood made the protection charm stronger. Making Voldemort the only person unable to kill Harry. "As long as Voldemort lives, so does the protection charm." Which is why in the final duel, Voldemort's killing curse rebounded again. And as for killing Harry in the forest, all he did was kill his own horcrux. Because the protection charm was still in effect, and Harry sacrafising himself caused another protection charm for those fighting Voldemort.@SMT_Pnut

    Theory... Dumbledore always believed in questionable plans for the greater good. And who else would he fear to discover his secret plans then his staff? My theory is that Dumbledore is intentionally helping rule breaking students in order to keep his staff distracted. For example i think Dumbledore taught the mauraders how to turn into animals and helped them create the mauraders map as well as teach fred qnd George how to use it... What better way to keep your staff busy then help your rule breaking students and then choose to never let them get expelled?

    • @lironkufert7495
      @lironkufert7495 Před 15 dny +1

      That's actually a very good idea, it could work. The only thing is, I don't think Dumbledore made a horcrux because this act darkens your soul and then his magic would become dark, and with that Dumbledore wouldn't have been able to summon the sword of griffindor or do any light magic, we can see by the color of the magic that comes out of his wand that Dumbledore hasn't gone dark, and also he was able to go beyond when he died. Had he created a horcrux, his soul would have stayed in the limbo and would have looked as maimed as voldemort’s soul fragment that was inside Harry. We say in the limbo that Dumbledore's soul is still intact. And also if Dumbledore had created a horcrux he wouldn't have died at the hands of Snape, he would have been tethered to life as voldemort was when his spell was fired while attempting to kill baby Harry

    The Dumbledore horcrux thing: I think that if he had used Fawks as a horcrux, that would have destroyed the horcrux the first time that the phoenix went through the burn and rebirth cycle. Even if the Elder wand had been in his possession at the time, the film version has Harry snap that wand like a dry twig. the other horcruxes we encounterd were nigh indestructible. Although I even take things taken from interviews with the author with a grain of salt, if Dumbledore did make a horcrux, it wasn't in either of those items.

    5:30 Dumbledore did some heavy research into Voldemort and his creating the different horcrux. Voldemort killed lots of people but saved making a horcrux for special occasions such as killing strong and/or meaningful people/witches/wizards. Killing Moaning Myrtle was not a special occasion or strong. She wasn't even his first kill, that honor goes to his father and grand parents. Dumbledore specifically says this and that Voldemort made his first horcrux at that time. During his research, Moaning Myrtle isn't even a foot note. She was just in the wrong place at the wrong time. As far as we can tell, he doesn't even think to talk to her and he was at Hogwarts when she died.

I could def see Dumbledore trying to manipulate Tom to avoid another Grindelwald, one who is the heir of Slytherin no less, but the idea that he would allow Tom to make Horcruxes is a quantum leap. The idea that he would've known there were 7 and waited until Voldy was back to do anything about them is to be on all the drugs.

    Did Snape kill Death? And all according to Death's plans?

    Do we have any history of female witches creating hocruxes?

    • @Zer0_._
      @Zer0_._ Před měsícem +1

      To date, no. The only known ones that have done it are, obviously, Voldemort. And another evil wizard that we know next to nothing about, named Herpo, The Foul. There is some debate about the theory that Morgan Le Fey created one, but there's no supporting info either way. That said, it's been mentioned that people have tried and failed, so in all likelihood, there could have been evil witches similar to Bellatrix, that could have made the attempt and failed.

    I do not think Dumbledore survived the fall, even if Snape couldn't wholly mean to kill him, because: The curse of the ring when he wore it had already started to kill him, the potion he drank to get to the locket brought him even closer to death (JKR made it clear he was VERY unwell, slumping down along the wall, etc.), then Avada Kadavra on top of it all... no, Dumbledore died and there's no getting away from it.

    Dumbledore I mean he was playing 5 d chess to beat Voldemort i dunno Tim says he found the book in the restricted section I thought why would dumbledore make a move to cause so much death! However dumbledores brother seems to have been upset with albus!

    I dont agree on the fact that Dumbledore set Tom up to become what he did. Plus, Dumbledore made the order of the pheonix to fight voldemort and his forces. Yes, Dumbledore knew something about voldemort ahead of time than mentioned, but i dont believe he lured Voldemort to the concept of horcruxes. We can assume that Dumbledore knew about the horcruxes when he saw baby Harry. He later explained to snape how Harry became a horcrux.

    How come Dumbledores hand blackened by the ring although the golden trio and Umbridge were able to wear slytherens locket without permanent harm?

    • @johnjstamos3996
      @johnjstamos3996 Před měsícem +1

      Voldemort placed a curse upon that ring. And before Dumbledore destroyed the ring, he realized that the resurrection stone was on the ring, and he foolishly put it on, which activated the curse and killed his hand. It may have killed Dumbledore all the way but luckily Snape helped him and trapped the curse just to his hand.

    I’ve just thought of something do you think Dumbledore might of manipulated Voldemort to go to the Potter’s house I mean Dumbledore had the cloak so he probably new that by killing both of the potters would make the events play out no it’s pretty out there but it does kind of make sense

    Wait. Dumbledores father was sent to Azkaban, Dumbledore was sent to Azkaban. So, did albus see his father in prison?

    • @johnjstamos3996
      @johnjstamos3996 Před měsícem +1

      Dumbledore’s father died in Azkaban within 3 years of going there. And Albus Dumbledore never was sent to Azkaban, he visited at least Morfen Gaunt there.

    i don’t care what anyone says about dumbledore , he was the smartest person and he did what he needed to and single-handedly kept harry alive (i know it wasn’t just him who helped harry) but nobody would’ve thought or had the power the way dumbledore did 🤷🏻‍♀️

    I stopped watching during the 1:11:00 minute, because Dumbledore's use of Apparition within Hogwarts happens **ONLY** in the movie. If we're accepting the movies as canon, then let's talk about Snape's presence as a witness to James and Lily Potter's murders. Bullshit.

    I’ll try not to sound biased by Dumbledore’s character, but let’s face it, we all loved him in the movies and in the books. I don’t think Harry was under Dumbledore’s influence at all. It was his destiny; he was chosen not just by fate, but also by Voldemort. Otherwise, we’d be seeing Longbottom, the boy who died, because that would have alerted the Order, and the Potters would be alive.
    Dumbledore consistently offered everyone a chance, granting them the freedom to choose their paths.
    1. Harry and his companions pursued Quirrell relentlessly.
    2. Harry and his comrades pursued the serpent to the Chamber, though he could have easily left the healing to Madam Pomfrey while attending to his own affairs.
    3. Harry and his comrades possessed the power to let events unfold naturally, yet they wielded the Time-Turner to alter the course of history.
    4. Harry could have abstained from the tournament by strategically forfeiting the initial challenge.
    5. Harry could have exercised patience before alerting a member of the Order, although I don’t hold him accountable for this decision.
    6. Harry, recognizing his status as the chosen one, shouldered the mantle of responsibility akin to his parents, engaging in combat against dark forces until his ultimate sacrifice mirrored that of his parents’ valiant attempt to save him.

    I find it difficult to believe that he intentionally set up Voldemort. However, I can Believe that after his experience with Grindelwald, he was determined to keep track of young witches and wizards who were potentially evil. Putting a "supreme dark wizard" in their midst would draw them out well enough to know who they were.
