    I feel absolutely ashamed how disrespectful the comments below towards Karakasevic are. He is one of the legendary players in the world! He's got fatal injure in 2013 or 2014, but he was tough enough to come back to this stage!! His BH is still superb and genious. J.O. Waldner said in the past that, "if he (Aleksandar) quit drinking, I would not be able to beat him". But time has past. More people do not know or understand what he left and is showing to this current tabletennis world. I felt so happy to watch him and his BH again. Thanks Aleksandar, what a great come-back!! And those who spactate table tennis, DO LEARN THE HISTORY, DO RESPECT PLAYERS. If not, please fade away from our table tennis culture.

      absolutely true, also you see that karakasevic really has the control over the rallies he won, but of course a younger player from china like ma long will beat him. But the ball placement and control is insane, well appreciated :)

      Karakasevic beat the top Chinese player of his era in a WTTC match.Something your ''legend'' has never done.He may be a good salesman for Butterfly rubbers but he is far from a legend.

    • @patela21
      @patela21 Před 4 lety +2

      Dick N. Ormous , karakasevic ‘era’ was long gone. I agree that Timo boll might be biased on Butterfly products but his style has not faded away. Probably one of the reasons why he is still world ranked no. 10.

    • @dickn.ormous1064
      @dickn.ormous1064 Před 4 lety +4

      @@patela21 One of the reasons may be that he is backed by the most powerful European TT team and he is the poster child for the biggest TT company getting a hell of money and resources while most European players struggle to make ends meet.
      His style has faded away but it suits the concept of Butterfly's spinny loop nonsense that has infected most Western amateur players.Just get a tenergy and try making spin with your arm that's what Butterfly preaches.

    • @patela21
      @patela21 Před 4 lety +3

      Dick N. Ormous , never was a butterfly user myself and least bothered about their marketing strategy. My comparison between karakasevic and Timo is purely based on their playstyle. Karakasevic still has his unique close grip backhand stroke, which worked him wonders in celluloid era where spin had more importance over speed. Where as, Timo adapted well to the plastic ball and adjusted his footwork accordingly. His technique ranks him up, not the powerful european team. Emerging players look up to him as a role model due to this very reason not coz he is butterfly sponsored.

    • @dickn.ormous1064
      @dickn.ormous1064 Před 4 lety +5

      @@patela21 Boll can not be a role model for Europeans,the whole German team moved to his city of residence to accommodate him while most Europeans have to move to Germany, leaving their homes and friends cause other countries have much lower level of competition to train against.
      Besides,his style and technique caused lots of injuries since the age of early 20's.
      The hype is strong on Boll but he never delivered in big competitions.Maze with his terrible technique won a WTTC bronze in 2005 beating Wang Hao while Boll got a bronze in 2011 quite inconsequentially.
      He was just lucky to be born in Germany with half of Europe devastated after the fall of communism.
