  • Welcome, brothers. Here are more of my replies to professed Christians who argue that you can divorce your spouse and take a new one, and somehow not be living in adultery.People will come up with nearly any reason to justify sin, especially if it is their own. If you want the people to repent of their sins and for the Lord to heal your land, repent of the wicked divorce and adulteries that curse the Church. Then trust in the Lord for deliverance.
    This video deals with:
    1. The woman at the well
    2. Looking with lust is adultery too
    3. God divorced Israel
    4. I am a new creation
    5. You should not be loosed

Do you have a video exposing the teaching of "Put away does not mean Divorce" ?
or do you know any good video speaking / exposing this idea ?

Hello John, No I have not done any work on that topic. There are other permanence of marriage videos that do discuss it though.

Dear Speaker, does God have a responsibility (anywhere found in scripture) to restore a prodigal spouse to his/her covenant spouse. When the prodigal spouse runs off in adultery, divorces their spouse and remarries their adulterous partner? Thank you for your thoughtful commentary, blessings to you Brother!

Hello Brian, Thanks for watching my new video on marriage, as well as for your comment. I hope the videos are helpful to you. I know of no passage in Scripture that teaches God is "responsible" to restore a marriage when one spouse has left the other, regardless of the circumstances. There are no passages in which the Almighty promises to do this either.
1 Corinthians 7:10-11 teaches that the separated spouse must either remain single or reconcile, but it never teaches that reconciliation will always occur. I naturally believe we must be willing to reconcile, as a matter of Christian love and forgiveness, which are our obligations. However, the other partner may not be willing, or may be a dangerous criminal, and this would make reconciliation practically impossible, even though we are willing and forgiving in our heart.
I have had the honor of meeting many faithful spouses who waited and prayed for their marriages to be restored. In some cases the Lord brought their spouses back to them. In other cases, He did not, and they continue to wait and pray, and obey God's teaching in the Bible. They refuse to commit adultery by taking another partner. They are excellent examples of how the Christian should live, both if separated from their spouse, or when in any time of trouble. Turn to the Lord, and don't look to sin as a way out. Be faithful.

i believe God is the business of restoring lives and if that is so,a reunion of couples divorced would be honored in. Gods eyes ... just my thoughts but it probably be very stressfull knowing that arguments will arise and upbrading would be stressed.

I think sometimes i continue in sin not because I don't believe in the word of God. But because I believe i am already dammed and cast away from God. I do not feel like God hears me.I feel i was born an abomination.

You can indeed depart from sin. God will forgive you if you confess and repent. That is what His word teaches. Don't trust your feelings, but trust what God says. He is good. He will forgive you and make you holy and bring you peace forever.

brother id like to add that the answer is very simple , Jesus told her that anyone who drinks from the water that i give shall never thirst again that is wrll said isnt it true that anyone who meets jesus , he causes us to live in his holiness and to rid ourselves of all known sin...Jesus is the answer.and still is and we only thirst for more of him
Dont we sanctify ourselves after he calls us....i honestly think she did the same...

Thanks for your comment. Yes, we don't know exactly what happened with this woman. But if it plays out like it does when a soul trusts in Christ and is born again, then the Holy Spirit would sanctify her. She would leave any sin present in her life.

I do not know of one in San Antonio, but I'm sure if you search you can find a good one. When I am traveling I do some research online about churches, and sometimes write them with a few questions. I do not identify with a denomination, or with one particular confession, but I currently attend a traditional Mennonite church.
