How often will a scrambler need a belt? Reason I ask is because they don’t have a low range. I like to poke around slow and enjoy the scenery but I’m told it’s hard on belts under 15mph. I just bought a 400 2 stroke and just curious what to expect
I've had this bike for several months. Use it to teach my son how to ride. It's the first time n only time I had to change it. The hardest thing on belt's is changing to bigger tires. If u run factory recommend tire size it will last for a long time, I say years.
I just replaced my belt on a 2000 400 scrambler 2 stroke and it was smoking pretty bad after a short ride and felt like I was losing some power is there any way to tighten the belt? It should be the correct belt for the quad not sure what to do

Had the 500 new in 99 the belts a breeze to change n was under 50$ back then only like 40 min job start to finish easy
Was also told aslong as one wheel spins belts fine but once no tires turn your belts slips n burns I never had to change but one in a yr n half
Why use that white sealant around the cover.
I have no idea. Got the 4 wheeler with it. Tuff to get off too.
does and old belt makes you lose some power..feels like my 2003 is slow..but i pulled some stuff with it and smelt the burn a couple times
Yes it slips, so the engine turns freely.
New foam gasket on Amazon is $22.

I have the same scrambler as you 400 2 stroke and I’ve never had to replace since 2001

How u like that tire combination? I ordered a similar one for my scrambler
They good for trail rides and gravel roads. Don't do very well in the mud.

That's probably ur carburetor starving for fuel.

Sounds like u need to replace springs inside the primary clutch. 🤔
