The best CCW - The Glock 48 MOS

  • I believe that the G48 is the best CCW on the market. I believe that it can do everything a Glock 19 can do and do it better. Also when paired with a Glock 43 it opens up a whole new world with the G43, G43X, and the Glock 43L or G43L.

I agree on everything except capacity. I'm willing to carry 10 rounds to get the slimness of the 48. There's no way I would trust the Shield Arms mags, there are way too many video documented problems.

10 rounds 48 in your pants is better than 15 rounds G19 left at home because the gun isn't comfortable to carry the way I see it.

Yup, agree 1000% about those SA magazines. First off, they literally cost twice as much as a Glock factory magazine. Second, one must also purchase SA’s metal magazine catch and then that limits using the Glock factory mags. Third, I would never trust them with my life either. SA magazines are a fail in my book.

Good review. I'm 5'9"/165 30/31" waist and just ordered a 48 on base for $510. Very tempting to dump the g42 and pick up a g43 to play with--I'm hoping that the g48 grip doesn't stick out too much for IWB tuckable--I don't have an issue with the p365 tuck, but the 48 looks like it adds about .7". I may try it in the small of my back when I get it, but I imagine that could get a little uncomfy in a church pew, lol. I wonder what other folks dimensions are and if they've tried an IWB tuckable for button down/business dress. Anyhoo, good review. Here's yer' upthumb.

Ammo count in real life and not Hollywood isn't important for CCW as long as you have 5 to 6 rounds ( Note: The FBI study on the less than 1% of self-defense incidents a year, says an average of between 2 to 4 shots are fired in self-defense with handguns)

You can carry the 43 when you need a smaller gun. I have heard soooo much advice over my years. Some good. Some bad. Seems like every day you can learn new things. But the ONE thing that has stayed constant is “always run factory mags esp while carrying”. Range…sure. Use whatever. So this has always been the reason that I personally will never buy a 43x or a 48. I will never use an aftermarket mag, esp ones that seem to work about 50% of the time, in a gun that i depend on for my or my families life. When Glock sells a 15 round OEM mag with these guns then I will def get one. Until then I will carry my OG 19. Great video though. But to each their own.

I agree with everything, save for the notion that the G19 and G48 have equal shootability. They don’t, unless you’re one of those people that have small hands, and the G19 might actually be less shootable. The recoil impulse with a proper grip (assuming you can properly grip a G19) still affords for superior handling on a G19. Out to 25 yards the G19 really establishes its superiority, though I will concede as you get closer that difference diminishes.

Lol the 48 or 43x dosnt come close to what the 19 can do less snappy and more reliable track record proves that people are having problems with all tbe aftermarket mags that would make 48 i little more comparable but they arnt so not trusting a gun is not like the 19 that everyone trusts just becouse you say you have no problems with your sheild mags dosnt mean others have same experience. Most people's experience with s15 mags is that they are unreliable i still carry my 48 but I definitely feel better with my 19 that i carry know back up mag becouse i know how reliable the 19 is .i hate people that have strong opinions that dont match with the way that other peoples experience is sheild arms 1 2 and 3 all gens arnt reliable you can feel how they almost dont work i almost cant even rack a bullet in with a full mag and there is mareing going on in the slide even on the bullet theres a score mark its not seamless. When you have so much invested in your edc its hard to be honest i get that lol people are weird and this guy is know different ive heard him try and argue facts lol. The fact is that way more people have had problems after problems with tbe sheild arms i thought i got one out of my 10 mags i got but nope it failed me now im running throigh second batch that came back after returning all mags i got and ive already have had malfunctions with new mags how much ammo do you want to waste its a problem when you shoot hundreds of rounds fine than you get a stove pipe or failer to eject lol fuck aftermarket mags and when your left with 10 rounds and a gun thats tiny its just all the way around a shitty experience especially when you cant even really shoot a lot out of the gun couse seems to get freaking red hot . Hey i like the gun but i wish glock came out with a mag for it that works the 48 is not at all the same experience as the 19 the only thing they have in common is there both glocks thats it.

The 48 is fabulous. But…. Shield Arms mags + the metal mag release is something I’d never trust with my life. Glock factory OEM magazines are the best. For civilian ccw or off-duty LE carry, 10+1 is “enough.” Plus, I always carry two spare magazines in the pocket with any semi auto I carry. So 30+1 gets the job done. If one can’t get the job done with 10+1 plus a spare mag or two, then maybe that person should move out of Somalia and into a safer city.
I own every Glock 9mm ever sold in the USA. The 48, 43 and. 43x are all in my daily rotation, among other models as well.

The Glock 48 IS the ultimate ccw. However the Glock 48 MOS contains the useless MOS feature for mounting a holosight - the most useless ccw feature on any handgun.

I promise if you spend a day of training with them both you will never say the 48 is better than the 19 . The 48 is a carry pistol period while the 19 is so much more .

Bought one last Friday sold it yesterday .... for me it was poorly made giving me no confidence it would work. As always I handle a gun for hours per day before firing and I just couldn't get over how clumsy it was. Just didn't handle well for me... grip angle. slide racking, everything.
Understand it's a great gun for most people. but for me NOT ... but it may be perfect for you.
