  • Hey everyone, here's something different for you: a MENG Merkava MK IV with Trophy. This is the first video in the series, and it focuses primarily on the lower hull and roadwheels.

My son is there now. He isn't armored, but they are a god send. People are 3D printing the anti drone armor "it looks like a sun shade" that goes on the top of the MK IV.
I know there are some antenna in the kit, but I am looking for aftermarket too, especially for the MK III. Israel is also rolling out the MK V now as well.
One of the signature things about the Merkava is that is sits quite low in comparison to other tank designs. This allows the unit to hide well, with minimal concealment.
Also in the design phase, the soldiers had a lot of input into the design, so running the tank, and getting on and off, things like hand grabs and stowage is in a natural place. This tank has a special place in my heart, and I can't wait to build up the MENG version of this tank.

Hi there! First and foremost, thank you for sharing such a personal connection to the Merkava.
I have seen Photo-etch version of the drone protection as well. My build won't involve any of that however, as I'm building one provided for in the kit. Maybe in the future I'll do a more contemporary one.
It's fascinating to learn about the unique features of the Merkava, especially its low profile, which provides an advantage in concealment. The soldiers' involvement in the design phase, ensuring practical elements like hand grabs and stowage, as well as having the engine mounted in the front of the vehicle for even more protection, highlights the thoughtful approach that went into creating this exceptional tank.
As you explore aftermarket options for antennas, checking military modeling forums and specialized suppliers is a great idea. The upcoming MK V rollout adds another layer of excitement to the Merkava series evolution.
Best of luck with your MENG version build! Your enthusiasm and personal connection to the tank are truly heartwarming. Feel free to share updates on your progress - it's wonderful to connect with fellow enthusiasts. 🛠🚀

Very interesting kit you chose. Of the MENG line I built the Russian "Terminator" BMPT tank recently.... from another war in another part of the world...
