      My Grandfather ( a Real horseman ) told me; "never get on a horse without a whip". by that I take the meaning, "you never know when that stubbon mare might need a little slap or 2 (no more than 2). But sure Nick Skelton (2016 Olympic Champion) never carried a whip. It's a "short cut", put in the time and effort to ride your horse or pony. I haven't been to Dublin Horse Show since Aug. 2008 ( my brother let me down, last year (2016) but I have it all worked out, I will take The Train and Walk the 1.5 miles (2,400 metres) from the Dart station like I did in 1993 & 1994. sláinte!

      people saying ‘I don’t ever ride with a whip/bit’, saying that riding with one is bad for any horse is wrong. just because you aren’t educated on how to probably use a whip/bit doesn’t mean everyone is the same way. some horses need that extra tap. With that being said I do that the they tapped the horse too hard.

      Yeah, as soon as he whipped the horse it refused. Just goes to show that whips dont actually help.

      I think that just how there poster/editor cut the video. Plus the camera angle used. I bet they did. I don't think any rider is that ungrateful

      different people communicate differently with their horses ...like people some say i love you all the time ..some don't but just know ..

    No horse ever stops for no reason... never, ever, never. A stop is always pilot error (including insufficient impulsion, rider body fling, a bad spot, etc.), training error, fear, exhaustion, pain or being in above its head. And yes, I do have the experience to make this comment.

      My friend, have you ever met a horse that simply dislikes jumping? That /will/ jump if you really cage it between your leg and hand, but is obviously uncomfortable about it? The kind of horse that just needs a different job to be happier?

    • @Ihaveadog230
      @Ihaveadog230 Před 3 lety +4

      Or maybe, perhaps, the horse simply does not want to jump. Like how we sometimes simply don’t want to do something.
