It's sad when someone leaves the hobby, but in many cases they bless others when leaving.

      Dear Gabriel:
In this case, I am of the opinion, that it was for the best. It was plain to see, from the filth, that guy was neglecting his tanks. He didn’t want to cut back; only to be completely shut, of the hobby. I’m pleased that Charles found his post and acquired his flora and fauna, so we can give them good homes.
Thank you, for your interest and lovely comment.
      All my best,
      Sincerely,
      Brinegar

the blue endlers are lovely. I can't tell what the stand of stems you got are as they are still ragged from transition. Maybe Bacopa. EJ- you will face challenges with plant success trying to grow in only black sand and no aquasoil beneath it. However, upgrading the light to full spectrum LED and putting root tabs will help immensely. Good luck.

      Dear Steffan:
The substrate is composed of compost (processed horse manure) capped with coal slag. I’ve found this often provides sufficient nutrition, for plants. I also add micro- and macro-nutrients, to this set-up and inject CO2.
The unidentified, stem plant is not Bacopa caroliniana. It may be some other species of Bacopa. I had to cut many of the plants, into pieces, to plant it, as it had grown, into a huge mass of largely, connected specimens. I do hope it does well, in this set-up.
      Thank you, for your help.
      All my best,
      Sincerely,
      Brinegar
