I've been a drummer all my life, & I've swung, & heard a lot of great players swing, but this thing swings like there's no tomorrow. Like others of have said - WOW!!
Elling and the SNJO did some great work together. Saw them perform this on a memorable night at the Barbican London some years ago. Richard Galliano was also on the bill.
I met Kurt back when his first recording was released and he was performing at a jazz club in Ann Arbor, Michigan called Bird of Paradise. Later, at the Monterey Jazz Festival in the Dizzy's Den venue, I saw him do Resolution - there is nothing like Kurt in full cry - nothing. He gave and continues to give homage to his fantastic mentor, the great jazz singer Mark Murphy, whose style he unashamedly copied when he was first starting out. Now he's an influence on many other musicians, and I said yes, musicians - his voice is his instrument, and he uses it better than most. I agree with the previous posts about his abilities. He and Lawrence Hobgood, his former pianist, collaborator and arranger, were an amazing team.

Pure genius. My sister and son saw Kurt with Rodger Fox's band on 4th April 2012 and were blown away. My son rushed up for a high five with Kurt :)
Man!!!! it was a fantastic tour with Kurt Elling 2012 that long ago - I need to get him back,.,....maybe to celebrate my 50th Anniversary....Glad you enjoy the concert featuring the Rodger Fox Big Band of New Zealand

Great playing from Tommy as always, shame he doesn't get out and about more often (away from home) to actually mix with some other musicians. Kurt is impeccable as always, great singer. Thanks for posting.

OMG, our little country and a world class band attracting international people at the top of their tree. Thankyou Tommy, BUT why are your other U.T.s such terrible quality. This took a lot of U.T.searching, and please don,t leave out Inverness from tours!
