  • I just wanted to take a moment to discuss why I think people are losing it over the "meta" through balancing patches. You really should consider your "meta" based on your mission objectives. There's a reason that there are so many stratagems, weapons and difficulties. DEUCES!

    Hey I agree with you. I'm not much of a fan of the railgun, but I would like some more consistent ways to deal with armoured enemies.
    In the first game you could one shot armoured enemies with antitank weaponry. In this game it takes way more work. That to me feels like the real problem.

    • @EternalWindTWR
      @EternalWindTWR  Před 5 měsíci +2

      Well and you also have to think about the fact that we still have more weapons and stratagems and primaries and all that kind of stuff coming. I mean the game's only been out a month. But I think they are toning down their health and their spawn rate to try and compensate. But you aren't wrong.

  • @Openminder321
    @Openminder321 Před 5 měsíci +5

    It's one thing to nerf the meta, but the hidden change of increasing damage dealt by enemies has broke the game. Hunters can now take 75% of your health down in a single hit with medium armor (probably one with light armor). That makes no sense when 20 can surround you at once and you are slowed once hit.

    People are mad because the railgun was really the only mobile anti-armor tool we had that was tailored to high difficulty play. A minor damage or ammo aconomy nerf would have been fine. There's a reason the top rated posts on the subreddit are anti-nerf. Make the recoilless mobile, give autocannon a little heavy AP capability. As of now we're just kind of peacemealing against 5 titans and 7 chargers and playing track and field simulator without any truly good optons to counter.

    The problem with the nerf/buff is they didnt tune the other weapons/spawn rate to account for the gap the railgun used to fill.
    Had they tuned that, i think the backlash wouldve been lesser.
    I wrote a whole smidget in the steam discussion about this and regularly play helldive. The railgun was the only weapon that could deal with the heavy and elite spam that goes down when bug holes pop, now it forces a very run and gun and sneaky beaky gameplay, which to me is boring but for others beings back the original helldivers 1 hell dive experience of avoiding bug patrol pops and whatnot.
    The problem too is they kind of set the expectations of players for the first three weeks of the game and didnt patch it fast enough, so now theres a lot of salty helldive diff players who have to change the way they enjoyed playing the game for the vision the devs have.
    Its understandable, and the backlash is understandable, but it will probably level out if they get mechs in fast enough.

    • @EternalWindTWR
      @EternalWindTWR  Před 5 měsíci +3

      Yeah I mean there are pros and cons to every balance patch. And not everyone will be pleased. I do feel like they nerfed it a little hard, but keeping it on unsafe should have always been the way to go about killing tougher enemies. It was way too powerful on safe mode.

    I love the new changes, it was so refreshing to see everybody running different weapons last night. Saw lots of laser cannons, machine guns, and some arc/flamethrowers. That combined with the new environmental hazards made for a very chaotic and fun time. I think those two strategems being very overpowered gave people of a false impression of how the game is supposed to play 🤷‍♂️

      Yup yup. It gave everyone a false sense of entitlement at the upper levels too. They arent supposed to be manageable for a single trooper. Level 7+ should need a full squad, not a master key in the form of one strategem that 4 people cAn take. The new player base needs to recognize theyre in a different game. I'm new to to the game HD franchise, never played first one HOWEVER those balance changes were a must (I would say they needlesly buffed punisher).
    There are few brilliant weapons nobody is talking about like: arc thrower, grenade launcher, spear or antimaterial rifle.
    right now I think I can say EVERY stratagem can be pretty darn effective - but that depends on individual playstyle and mission objectives.
    I dont think there is still useless weapon in whole game.
    I never used "meta" stratagems, they dont bring anything interesting to the table beside making you inefficient at multirole.

    While I do agree that your loadout should be somewhat influenced by the mission objective I think that it should only really come into play when you are running solo on higher difficulties. In teamplay however it shouldn't matter as much, as a team the game should instead encourage the use of varied loadouts to cover the strengths and weaknesses of other team-members on higher difficulties by throwing situations that not necessarily require certain things but benefit if someone in the team has it so everyone can run what they like and not what is the universally decided the "meta" the time which I think Arrowhead is trying to achieve based on their statements about this topic.

  • @davoodoo8042
    @davoodoo8042 Před 5 měsíci

    People were bringing loadout built around mission, unfortunately because of how helldivers 2 plays it means loadout is built around dealing with heavy armor 100% of the time. Its not hd1 when you had occassional behemoth and 60s cd railcannon to deal with it, every stratagem in hd2 is worse than its hd1 counterpart so loadouts are more strict.
    Also bile titan twoshot is bug which occurs when theres ps5 player in lobby, how does that happen, nobody knows.

    They need to add weapon attachments, the biggest thing though is buff the other weapons either through attachments or if not then through the base stats. I get nerfs stuff was overperforming. But alot of the weapons are still about as effective as pool noodles. I think they would have been better served by buffing other things then working out nerfs from there. I'd prefer to not see that happen to another game I really enjoy. He'll I wish their was a loot system similar to vermintide in their. I love the game but after about 90 hours their isn't much left to do and it's in no way their fault their gameplay loop is great imo, but for people like myself that want something to chase there isn't anything left to do or build. I absolutely agree! People who go mental about the patch clearly never played HD1. Thats how ya know you dealing with a fresh citizen.
