i dig the honest comparison. My bride and I are platinum on Princess. We’ve sailed with other lines but Princess suits us best. I like quiet time on vacation. That’s easy to find on Princess. :)
Thanks Herb! - Tony
I’ve been on both as well but I love carnival I can find more people my age (early 20s)
I love Princess! I like Carnival too, but I prefer Princess. Just much more relaxing/pampered vibe
Ya for sure. I was pretty relaxing. - Tony
You two are so real and honest i love listening to you. Thank you for all your information
Thanks!
Thank you so much for your interpretation and experience on noticing the differences between some of the cruise lines I am strictly Carnival fan because of the fun. I'm almost 60 and I'm still a fun-loving person. now I have been on Norwegian I've been on Oasis of the Seas and I find those ships to be great but very low key even if I don't participate in the fun. I like watching the fun and when i was younger and not disabled i participated. that's why I like Carnival so much. so all the people out there that said carnival is Walmart of cruise lines. .. who cares! it's about having fun and enjoying your vacation the way you want to enjoy it. if you want to go on low keyi cruises great no problem. but if you want to go on a cruise line that's a lot of fun all the time you don't have to participate but a lot of fun and keep you laughing carnival is the one. Just let go and have fun which ever cruiseline you choose.
Those people who call Carnival the Wallmart of cruises have probably been to neither.
Well done! This is an excellent way to compare two ships/cruise lines. Your point by point comparison allows your viewers to determine what their priorities are when making cruising decisions. Every cruiser, every vacation is different! Your analysis was fair and accurate; your reasons for your preferences were well explained.
Thanks!
Appreciate your comparison. We are on the quiet side and although we've enjoyed Carnival twice, would go with Princess next cruise.
Great comparison. We've only cruised twice and both times were on Princess and we have another Princess booked for next year. I love the "Class" of Princess. The ambiance is very classy and I agree with you that the service was just impeccable. I like being able to go "find the party" when I wanted it, and that it wasn't always a party atmosphere. But on the other hand, we took our 25 year old son and his GF with us and they found themselves to be a bit bored sometimes. They loved all the class and the great service, but they were more often looking for a party and thought that the clientele on Princess was a bit older for them. They've cruised Royal Caribbean in the past and loved the party atmosphere better there, but enjoyed the class, taste and service with Princess better.
Princess gets my vote. I liked the comparison of looking for the party or needing to escape the party to find a quiet place.
great comparisons, but some visuals would really set this off. Two years later, I'm back. My next cruise is Caribbean Princess and you're making me even more excited to go. I'd also like to thank you for information I'd never even think about twice, like seat size. That you missed shows due to seat size makes me more sensitive to.
I think its where you are in life, at 52 I love Princess and wouldnt go with anyone else now but 15 years ago I was more into party ships.
I sailed on Carnival Sunshine for my first cruise and had a blast; I am in my 60's. Carnival is a "fun"
ship and I enjoyed the electric atmosphere, there werea different mix of ages and as it was in the summer, children were among the voyagers.
My second cruise was in early fall and on Star Princess, I had an enjoyable but different kind of experience. It was more low key, very classy and hardly any children on the cruise.
Although but cruises were wonderful, I found the Star Princess' staff to be extremely courteous, not that Carnival's staff was rude.
I like variety and therefore both cruise lines were enjoyable, offering me different experiences.
I look forward to my next cruise which will be on the Princess as well as cruising again on Carnival in the future. I plan on cruising on all the cruise lines at least once.
BON VOYAGE 🛳🛳🛳🛳🛳
I really enjoy both lines but Princess is a step above for me. If it weren't for the kiddos I would stick with Princess for that slight edge for food and service. However, the kids love the 24 hour ice cream and pizza and the more lively vibe on Carnival. No worries, I can split my time... ;-)
My husband and I have taken Carnival for the majority of our cruises. We’ve never been on Princess but have been talking about it. Thanks for the info!!!
Definitely a Princess person but demographic makes all the difference. Younger, active, slide loving, families with children all go to Carnival.
Princess caters to 40 and up and thus a crowd with more to spend on a cruise. You don’t see family groups with large numbers of young children on Princess. Just have never been drawn to Carnival and this comparison explains why.
As an 88 year old, my pick is Princess .
As a woman in my 60s, I still like Carnival.
Going on my second Caribbean Princess Cruise in less than a month. I completely enjoy Princess! The customer service on Princess is what makes me loyal princess cruiser!
@ Lacey Burnette, I’m sure Carnival Corp. is glad to hear that seeing as how they own Princess. Kind of a win-win for them!
Thanks for the video guys, we love watching. We have never been on Princess, we want to try it. We went on our first Carnival cruise in June and had a great time. We have cruised with Norwegian several times, and have found that balance of quiet comfort and fun on their ships.
that's what's great about all these cruise lines.. all these different ships and even the different ships with the same Cruise Line you can always find something to suit your individual need. For us right now it's Carnival we just never had a bad experience in 12 cruises.. but after our next Cruise in October we might decide to venture out a little bit.. thanks for your video
I do like the “pillow candy” as I call the nightly chocolate & I like that it’s different every night!! And as far as the pizza - you could get it thru room service (I think it was available 20 hrs per day)! I didn’t realize that the Caribbean Princess didn’t have an Alfredo’s restaurant (free) - Tony could have had his arugula and prosciutto pizza at Alfredo’s- fresh from a pizza oven!
Doing a 15 day from LA to Hawaii on the Emerald Princess in March...Caribbean princess is similar to Crown and Ruby and Emerald. I cannot wait to try a newer princess ship like the Regal.
Our room attendant on every princess cruise we've been on - has always made a towel animal for our daughter every night. :-)
Oh that’s awesome! Maybe they do them for the children that’s pretty awesome! 😊jenny
That do that on carnival to it’s not just princess
I've only done 3 cruises all on Carnival. Everytime, I say next time I want to try a different cruise line...then I compare prices and end up on Carnival. Especially when you have a family of 5 like I do, it gets real expensive real fast even for a short 3-4 day cruise.
We started with Carnival & have mostly stuck with Carnival because of the normally lower prices. We sailed with a couple of our grandkids on Disney once. We had a good time, but felt like it wasn't worth twice the price. We then sailed w/ Norwegian because it was a specialty cruise that just happened to be with that line. There were some things we liked better with Norwegian so, a few years later, we cruised with them again. We are now booked with Norwegian again. This time they won because they offered a deal we felt we almost couldn't pass on. Sooooo....yes, we like Carnival & their normally lower prices. This has driven our decision to sail with them most often & has put us in a higher reward category with them. However, we have found things we liked elsewhere and I really want to check out RCI. Some of their ships look really amazing with lots to do onboard. It has become somewhat of a quandary for us. Stick w/ Carnival, their lower rates, & a few extra benefits OR look for another line we like better and start building points with them? I'll finish with this: Another reason we've started looking at other lines is because we feel like Carnival, over the years, has declined a bit in several areas important to us. They have left us wanting a little more.
Thank you! Planning for a very first cruise and this is very helpful.
I really respect that Jenny mentioned the seating. I never had to think about these things until i met my wife's grandmother who has always been fluffier. Now when we cruise, Erica will say things like "oh we wouldn't have done that as a kid because it is not accessible (with smaller rooms)" They would often get suites because it was so much easier and the showers were larger. These are things I would never have thought about and now that I do it is so nice to have comments about size accessible things. I know that we really appreciate hearing tips for fluffier cruisers when thinking about her grandmother. It is so hard for larger people sometimes and reviewing from that perspective is extremely helpful to plan ahead.
It sounds like Princess won.
Depends on the price, but if all things are equal. Princess wins for me. - Tony
Same ⭐️✨jenny
I have cruised both cruise lines and honestly, I will never do another Carnival cruise. Carnival is actually the only cruise line I will not sail on. The clientele on Carnival act like they are at a frat party and that’s just not my thing. It reminds me of amateur night on New Year’s Eve. I am Elite on Princess and they really take good care of us. If we want the nightclub experience, we go to the nightclub. The whole ship is a bar/nightclub on Carnival and that is what some people are looking for, just not us. Excellent comparison video!
@ Nautibear's Boatyard...you do realize that Carnival Corporation owns Princess Cruise line right? Carnival Corp. also owns Cunard, a much more “elite” cruise line. Many people fail to realize Carnival is one for a reason.
I will title this comment "What We Missed". My husband and I just came off of our first Princess cruise....we mainly cruise Carnival. It was a beautiful ship (Regal); very classy and the food was great ....but I have to say we felt like we were on a senior citizen/nursing home cruise.....overall we found it boring! We really missed the fun on Carnival and how the cruise director really gets involved and creates fun and involvement even with the overhead announcements. We could have taken a nap at the sail away party which was so disappointing to me and the rest of the cruise was overall uneventful on Lido! We missed having our beach towels and robes available to us in our cabins. We couldn't find one beach towel available to us the morning of an excursion (all bins on decks were empty) and finally were given ONE while walking off the boat. I had to wait two days for the cabin steward to finally give me a robe :( We missed the tribute to St Jude that the kids would always get involved in as well. We also missed the beautiful tribute that Carnival gives to veterans. Princess had something small for veterans to meet and talk but nothing like Carnival. When we were in port at Cozumel, the Carnival Vista was docked next to us and when they were about to set sail we could hear the cruise director on Lido and the music, fun and dancing that was going on.....we wanted to jump ship! LOL Overall.....it was a good experience for us to find out that we really prefer Carnival right now in our lives for so many reasons.....like FUN.
Diana Federici Princess is more for older passengers but as a kid I did like it
Try royal Caribbean "harmony of the sea"
That’s so interesting. Our first time sailing on Princess, we were in our early 30s... we didn’t want the party crowds. We were able to go to bars and get drinks without being around fall-down drunk cruisers. We loved hanging out at the aft pool or the wine bar on the Princess ship we went on, without loud people disturbing our relaxation. Our cruise was a 10-day cruise, so we saw 10 kids at the most, which was awesome. Yes, we probably were among the youngest cruisers, but we are super chill, and don’t want boozy loud cruisers around us like we experienced on a Carnival cruise back in 2010 when we were in our 20s.
This is good to know. I’ve only ever cruised Carnival because who doesn’t want to have fun?! Lol. I love the cruise director parties and the hairy chest competition and the love and marriage show. And we had Schwartz once and he was the best, most energetic cruise director EVER!
Brian I gave my opinion. You could try being polite and not answering rudely.
Ok Tony... now that I’ve been on Princess and I hear your pizza comments.... you need to go on a Royal Class Princess ship and have Alfredo’s.... it’s amazing! Mmmm!
Thanks so much for this honest comparison. Great to hear because I take my first Princess cruise in April.
Fabulous comparison of the 2 cruise lines! We've sailed Carnival twice, & Princess many times, so our preference is obvious. We didn't care for the party atmosphere on Carnival, which felt forced. I liked your analogy of looking for a place to chill vs. looking for the party. Some people probably feel that Princess is stuffy, but I like the more chill atmosphere, & if I want a more party atmosphere, I'll go out to the main pool area. I also don't care for water/amusement parks on ships, so I'm grateful Princess is a little more traditional & allows me to relax.
Thank you both very much for this video. We are going on our very first cruise ever in April 2020 on the Princess Carabbean and we are delighted by your description. Keep doing what you do it is helpful to first time cruisers like us. Have a great life!
Great information guys! I think you did a great job highlighting each cruise lines strengths and weaknesses in 'your' honest opinion without being overly critical. I tend to go on Carnival for girls trips where we do more silly stuff and just hang by the pool. When I go with the hubs or the fambam I like to do something different. I am going on a Carnival cruise with ladies at the end of August and Symphony of the Seas, WOO HOO and I'm so pumped, in January with the hubs! Keep up the great work:)
Thanks! Appreciate the comment! - Tony
ANY day on a cruise is better than not on a cruise! :-D After cruising Carnival, Royal Caribbean, Princess and Celebrity, we have settled into Celebrity as our favourite and it is usually our go-to cruise line. But just like you guys, for the right itinerary or price, we will cruise with any.
Thanks you guys are wonderful!! The way you laid out the comparisons and the topics covered, spelled it all out for me. I will be checking out your other videos!
Great thanks! Appreciate you watching and for the feedback. - Tony
Hey guys! It's been a couple of days but I wanted to thank you both for appearing in the 8 youtuber collaboration video with me. The comments from viewers has been fantastic! I look forward to working with you anytime on anything. Thanks, Bruce from Creston BC Canada
Thanks for the video! I'm a cruise novice did not realize princess was even a option. Definitely going to concider them for my next cruise 😊
What a great breakdown of the differences. One of the best comparison reviews I have seen
This video is exactly why I love watching your channel because you are honest and having cruised many times on both Carnival and Princess I agreed with almost everything you said. I don’t think you can beat a Princess buffet but the beds on Carnival are so comfortable. Overall my husband and I enjoy the quiet of Princess. I also enjoy the cold towel and water when boarding the ship after a day in a hot port. After this pandemic I’m looking forward to all and any cruises. We always enjoy the best each cruise line has to offer. Love watching you both. We were booked on the group October 2020 cruise!
We have not yet tried Princess but have cruise Carnival, Royal and Norwegian. My favorite of the three, so far, is Royal mainly because of the reasons you chose Princess. I have two Carnival cruises booked and booking another Royal, I think. Still trying to decide what to do for our 50th Anniversary cruise.
Thank you for taking the time to let the people know about the cruise 🚢
Luv this! You guys are classy. Great comparison. 👍
Thanks! - Tony!
We are longtime Carnival cruisers since 2009 but we discovered Princess (Regal) in 2015 and fell in love with the ship. We are getting a little older and felt more in the age bracket of Princess. I agree with your assessment but we still love Carnival for big family trips and when we have younger people with us. The best thing is that they are both part of CCL and with just a 100 share purchase, you can get $100 OBC with either line each time you sail...we have made our original investment back and then some!
Going on the Caribbean Princess in March 2022 and the Ruby Princess to Alaska in July 2022...new ships for us so we are excited! Thanks for your videos - they’re fun to watch. Let’s get cruisin’ again!
Carnival cruising for me all the way for me. I am not a fru fru person. I am happy to go on a vacation. Seriously
Ive done 6 carnivals, my gf will be doing her 1st cruise. Booking late, not many choices left for carnival. So we decided on princess Caribbean. I love carnival and was really nervous about not liking princess, after all, i want my gf to absolutely love her 1st cruise. Tks to your vid I feel more at ease now. You folks pick apart the simple things that most ppl wouldn’t notice, until it’s too late. Great job. Keep the vids coming. CRUISING IN THREE WEEKS!
Cabins on Princess l love how the closet and bathroom is separated too. Split is better.
Carnival people come around in the breakfast buffet area with juice and coffee refills.
Sailed on 12 Carnival ships including the Liberty and I can always find quieter places at night - the "secret" forward decks, the aft pool area, some of the "off the beaten path" corridors around the atrium and those areas outside like Serenity and deck 4.
I have been on both and it's Princess all the way, imho!!!!!!
Hi guys, I’m watching this right now on Coral Princess on route to Puerto Madryn, Argentina. I totally agree with you guys.
One of the things that I measure between cruise ships is deck layouts. I love the Carnival ships I've been on because for the most part the Lido decks open up on the fantail with sun and hot tubs, and plenty of tables and chairs for dining outside. Especially in the mornings, you can pick up your food and step to the back for outside seating and watching the water.
Most RCL ships, at least the ones I've been on don't have this layout.
The other layout is the promenade outside Teak wood for walking and leisure chill times. They're not all the same from ship to ship.
Thank you for the comparison!
I love your video, I agree that carnival has better seats in theater(bench seats).I am a big traveler and always looking for comfort but princess has that relax vibe in my opinion worth the money. Keep up the good work you two are doing with videos
What a great thorough comparison! I feel like I can make an informed decision based on just this. I probably will try Princess, thanks. I will say that I was suprised that you voted for the Princess room over Carnival after seeing that itty bitty shower.
I am glad you guys enjoyed, I love cruising too.
My experience with Princess was not bad but I think I prefer Carnival. Princess buffet options were not so good, the pizza was stale and not been 24 hours was a con for us. The main dinning food in Princess was really good but I hated that they always had things for an up price and everything from the menu was not included. At the international cafe the ice cream was delicious, delicious. Yes, the service in princess was much better but that is because they charge you extra for a lot of things. We also think the buffet at Carnival had better and more options.
Al Sanchezse do you mean some foods in the main dining room had an up charge?
When we started cruising on Carnival 4 years ago, our room steward would clean our cabin 2 times a day. Last October they asked us when we wanted our room cleaned. They have cut back on the staff.
Team Princess!
Mike on the Horizon was the best cruise director I have ever seen! Im telling you right now.... cruise the HORIZON if only for Mike.
Yep what a character!
Lee is also amazing best I have cruised with so far.👍👍
Great information. Thank you
Love Your videos !!! Thanks guys!!
Hell to you both I’m a new subscriber and I follow a lot of other cruisers CZcams channels and I’m surprised that you only have 11k subscribers. You two are very knowledgeable about cruises. Myself I’m NCL cruiser for 8 years now. It’s nice to hear an honest opinion on these two cruise line thanks!
Thanks Barry and welcome! - Tony
That international cafe's tuna sandwich was SO Good! I remember not waiting so long for pizza on princess, and the pizza was better than carnivals. I liked the burger line for princess as well it wasn't as full and it was simple. But I still pick carnival over princess any day. More people my age and more fun but I like both
Went on Grand Princess, while nice, I prefer Carnival due to more to do for kids and kids at heart. I'm 63 and still love to do waterslides, putt putt, ropes course, etc.
Great comparisons!!!! Cant wait to cruise!!!!
Thanks!
Thanks for the comparisons! Will be experiencing the Princess difference Nov 2020 and compare it to my Carnival experiences..I did notice the uncrowdedness in your VLOGs on the Princess which I found intriguing. The Carnival Elation(which we have sailed on twice) there always seemed to be a crowd wherever we went ..We shall see in a year!LOL
On the Elation we had both morning and night room service automatically!!! Maybe it will be the same when you go in October!!
Thank you for your video..having sailed Carnival and loved it..going on my first Princess cruise later this year...loved the atmosphere on Carnival, maybe I will miss that on Princess but still looking forward to in...you both are amazing with your honest views...
We just went on our first cruise on the lovely Carnival Panorama! Loved everything! Loved the cruise director EMMA! and her party crew. We never were bored. Every day an adventure and discovery. I loved the Party atmosphere and laughs and the food!!! You didn’t mention the Seafood Shack on Carnival (not sure if it’s on all ships). Yummmy!! Our cabin steward, Foley, was so nice, friendly, and full of kindness. In fact, all the staff was on point. I highly recommend this new ship for cruisers that like to boogey and laugh! Or, if you’re like me... I love to watch and laugh with the boogie down folks! You didn’t compare the Spa’s. I didn’t opt-in on that this time... maybe next time. I cannot wait to cruise again!! I’m now a #Cruiser4Life! Love your videos!!
Have done multiple Carnival and Princess cruises. I agree with a lot of what you've said. Both have benefits, but Princess is our #1 choice. Thanks for a great vlog!
Thank you for the great comparison!. In our experience, Carnival is better at entertainment and offers more exciting activities, but Princess and Royal Caribbean are (sometimes slightly) better at almost everything else, including the ship layout. That being said, it is great to start with carnival as it is cheaper and has so many ports of call to choose from.
The moment you announced your Princess cruise, I was kinda afraid that you would switch to other companies permanently.
We are leaving on the Princess Star in two weeks from LA to Hawaii for 15 days. This will be our 8th cruise and 6th different ship.
Thanks for sharing your thoughts, and as always, appreciate your honest opinions. I understand people's loyalty to one line and achieving diamond status (that WOULD be great), but I guess I just really enjoy the whole trying a new cruise line thing more. They all offer such different experiences. Your experience on Princess makes me want to try them even more. I was interested ever since Amy and Elizabeth ate at the International Cafe that first time they sailed on the Regal Princess! That food tho!!! lol! I do think you both would enjoy NCL. The Escape was such a fantastic vacation for our family. It's a very FUN, lively ship ... with quiet areas around too.
Carnival still does clean your room twice a day. They may ask you when you want them to clean your room and you can tell them twice a day. They will clean up in the am and turn down and clean in the pm.
Choice is clear for me, guys burger, overall fun and regular people seals the deal for carnival
You put out such good content ty!!!!
Thanks!
Great comparisons
Thank you , for your video and comparison .We have cruised on Carnival , R C I ,Costa ships. We are now considering Princess, After your show we have decided on trying the Princess Enchanted for our next cruise. Thank you so much for all your info. Happy cruising kruise runner . kruise kat.
Thank You 😊
Thanks for the comparison. Sailing on the Regal Princess this November with a group (US Marines). We have also sailed with Norwegian.
SEMPER FI!!!
My husband and daughter are Marines!
So if you want a party atmosphere go Carnival, if you want a more laid back atmosphere then go Princess.
I would say yes
I will have to agree with you guys and pick Princess.
I've only been on Carnival, but my grandparents love going on both. Especially if it's just them they go on Princess since it's a more laid back, but if it's the whole family they like Carnival cause we all can have fun together. Between those two lines its really down to preference to environment. I would like to test out a Princess cruise (23 years old) just to get an idea of what it's like
At 23 you might like Carnival more than Princess. Carnival has a party boat reputation more than Princess. This said, I am Elite on Princess.
I appreciate your honesty and I am a Princess lover, even though I've been on plenty of Carnival cruises too. I will always choose Princess.
Thank you for your review. We have 13 cruises on Carnival, they have gone down hill. Last cruise we had young couples in the MDR with blue tooth speakers, singing dancing, the "ladies" stood on the chairs. After 2 nights of it I went to the Maitre'D. He did step in and they didnt show up again. Time for us to try something different. Because Princess is owned by Carnival Corp. we will try them. Just wish we could get credit for our Platinum status with Carnival. Great review, honest down to earth people.
I took my16-year-old son who has Aspergers on Princess, the choice was so great. It was not too overwhelming, he went around on his own, joined the teen group, I barely saw him the whole cruise, he didn't take out his computer once. Princess is low-key but enough to keep you entertained and busy....Loved the movies under the stars...The one thing I did not like is my son has some texture issues so he wanted pizza without sauce on it...the place on deck by the pool would not accommodate him. We went to the front desk they took care of it and he was allowed to receive it after that.
I’m a bird watcher I don’t get involved with much so I like the all around excitement so mine is Carnival
My fiancé and i love Carnival... i am now 39 and he is 36 and when we vacation we like to turn up (work hard play hard people). We also relax at times on our balcony or on the serenity deck.... we also learned (after our first cruise on triumph and second on the Breeze) that the Dream class ships are bigger, have more dining options, specialty shops, better shows and better tasting food....we also only cruise during the months that kids are in school so the ship isn’t overrun with them.... we will be sailing on the Carnival Vista in December and looking to hop on the Horizon and i have noticed prices are higher to sail on the vista class ships
I like the casino area of the Carnival Miracle because it does not smell SMOKY like Panorama. My last trip with The Miracle was Dec29 to Mexico for 6 days. Food on both ships are the same. The price is much cheaper with Carnival cruises. Thanks for sharing your thought and I already hit like and subscribed your channel.
3 generations of family went on the Regal Princess Jan of '19' (Western Caribbean). Loved it so mush that just the hubby and I will be doing the Eastern Caribbean cruise in 2020 also on the Regal Princess.
I’ve never cruised on Carnival. Loved the video. I’ve done 3 Princess Cruises and 3 Holland America. I prefer Princess to Holland, but both are very nice. I especially enjoy the International Cafe on Princess, the food choices are good...especially loved the gelato choices and the specialty coffees.
Keep in mind the atmosphere does change a bit on Carnival, too, when you go from a shorter cruise to a 7 day cruise. Dollar to dollar, I'd love to try other lines. We are trying the MSC Seaside in December because it was the cheapest cruise available to my family. The almighty dollar always wins for us!
It depends on the location too. One of my favorite cruises was on Carnival, but it was in the Mediterranean. The atmosphere was very different than the Caribbean sailings.
I think Princess is more than 20% more than Carnival, guys remember you are not comparing Apples to Apples, Carnival is a Mainstream Cruise line, more in tune with NCL, or RCL, Princess is more in tune with HAL, or Celebrity Cruise lines a Premium Cruise line, you pay more but not necessarily get more, Premium Cruising is a traditional Cruise experience vs a Party Ship, its more in tune with elderly people from what I have seen, they are quieter and even the kids are hidden away. That said, the elderly do not mean they are sophisticated, most of the people on my very recent HAL cruise to Mexico were average Joes to some Slobs who would make your head spin by the things they do, guess HAL is pretty cheap for a Premium class ship.
Great Video guys.
40 and below: Carnival. 50 and above: Princess. If you are in that “tween” age of 40-50, you will have to decide whether you want party time or quiet time. The choice is yours. We have done both and as now seniors, we chose Princess.
I love princess... as they are damn cool and staff are freaking friendly.
I have never been on a cruise but every employee from the headquarters I have met are super friendly and upbeat.
I found this to be very informative. I am a Carnival gal because of price, but looking for reviews of other lines because the itenerary I want to go on is not available with Carnival at the time of year we are able to travel. It was good to hear that you could find fun things to do on Princess without having the party invading your quiet space. That is the one thing I think Carnival could tone down just a tad. I love the activity all over, but every single place is loud. Even the Serentiy deck has music playing and sometimes you can be in a place where you hear competing music... a bit much sometimes.
I think you guys should try an NCL cruise. It's very different from the Princess/Carnival/RCL kind of vibe. I think you'd like it! I've been on a lot of both (gold status with both NCL and Carnival) but there's a different level to the NCL experience, in my view.
(We have cruises on both of those lines scheduled within the next year, so I'm definitely not badmouthing anyone.)
I didn’t care for NCL at all.
Ive been cruising for years, and I've seen Carnival start to attract a low life class of passenger from Philadelphia, that caravan down to hassle the rest of the passengers. It's the low fares that attract them I pay extra now, to avoid seeing them.
Same here!!!! It is not the cruise line, it's the clients that go on the cruise.
My Mom - in - Law has been on seven Princess cruises. Now I understand *why* it’s the best cruise line for her and my Dad - in - Law!
Ship to ship Carnival is as you say Party 24/7. More for younger folks Both are the same company!
Over 50 Holland America!
Speaking of the buffet beverage bar on Princess, sailing to Alaska on Grand Princess was the first time I ever saw draught coffee on tap...
And now I TOTALLY want that for my kitchen at home!
i agree carnival is the PArty fun ship i also like NCL , I may have to try this line soon, I sometimes love to have some down time like relaxing reading a book, on Carnival you have to look for spots. NCL i love the thermal spa, and the adult section H20 and the waterfront areas on NCL ship, carnival is geared to families and children more.Like them both
International cafe on Princess has also a daily soup offer. that is really good when you are craving a quick hot bowl on a chilly day without having to go to the buffet to get it. However, I also hope there are more specialty restaurants on Princess ships. Usually only Steakhouse and Italian. some might have another one. but usually 2 or 3 at best.
Thanks for your conversations about both cruise lines. I sometimes travel with someone who LOVES Carnival. They still enjoy Princess. I’ve only been on a 4 day cruise on Carnival & it was fine. Unfortunately I’m a fan of Princess & perhaps that they sail out of San Francisco also makes a difference. When looking at prices I get OBC for having stock in Carnival Corporation + credit for being a Veteran only on Princess. That can be an additional $500 in OBC which is a nice plus. Their are plenty of things to do on Princess & sometimes it’s difficult to decide what to do when their are several things at the same time.
Looking into. Princess cruise... We have been on 13 cruises but some how have missed out on Princess!!! We do like Carnival and I think it depends on the actual ship. We liked Vista, Dream and Magic... Smaller ships are nice but the bigger ones really grab us.
