The encounter of Jesus Christ with the Samaritan woman, Photini, who later became worthy to be called “Equal to the Apostles”, is a conversation with the human soul. Such a conversation is only fruitful for us if there is room in our hearts for the Lord. Even though she was not living a good life at the time, her responses to the Lord showed that her heart had room, and Jesus filled it with his gentle, firm, and theological conversation with her. The Lord is having these conversations with us, and most of us don’t have enough room to bear His words because of our distractions our sins, indifference, and all the rest.
