Considering Rowling having a stereotype in mind is an _assumption_ until it's admitted, it would make her accusers the ones in the wrong. They're the ones perpetuating the stereotype by bringing it up in the first place. I know when I look at a _fantasy creature_ , I personally don't try to equivocate it with a group of people. There are very diverse groups of people of many cultures that share similar facial features and like money. STOP PERPETUATING THE STEREOTYPE.

So "critics" _bring up_ the stereotype themselves, then assign it to a fantasy creature, and then claim that Rowling meant that? Do I have the order of operations right on that? So if that _wasn't_ her intention, then who is perpetuating the stereotype? That's right, that would be the accusers.
The way goblins are portrayed in HP is how they've always been portrayed since the idea of goblins was first created, long before those types of stereotypes about Jewish people even existed.

This combined with the fact that the Goblins are walking Stereotypes AND that they chose to make them the antagonists in the game, even though the allegations were a thing when the movies came out, diminishes kind of the argument of plausible deniability

Considering the folklore of goblins has been pretty well established for around 1000 years or more, the whole "Goblins are reference to jews" is horseshit.
And so because of one person a boycott is being organised which spectacularly fails to recognise the amazing work of EVERYONE ELSE who worked on bringing this amazing game to fruition. If it was just Rowling who did it all, I would understand the decision to not buy the game, but it’s not just her, in fact it is only based on her IP. She apparently had nothing to do with the technical wizardry Avalanche deserves all the credit for.
Let's not forget that all those people that worked on the game already got paid but JKR actively profits way more from this. Or the racist ideology that the director of the game injected into the game. the glorification of fascism. The racist ideologies JKR has put into the franchise. And of course the boat loads of money she donates to anti-trans organizations.
Your argument is a lazy way of saying, I don't care for the LGBTQ+ people. Just be honest. So basically people are upset over a game that goes out of its way to be inclusive all the way to include a trans character (which I haven’t seen a lot in many video games, but shouldn’t really matter if we’re all right with little things like Samuel L. Jackson playing Nick Fury,) and had no part of J.K. Rowling’s involvement, and was made as a sort of love letter to the wizarding world of Harry Potter…
And these same people try to boycott this game just because it’s connected to someone who is anti lgbt? I’m sorry if I’m not offended, but I just fail to see where they’re coming from attacking people playing this game.

I consume ethically when I can but, 1) that’s nearly impossible and 2) I’m tired of it being at the cost of my joy and and what makes me happy. Just donate $60-70 you spent on the game to a trans or LGBTQ+ organization if it bothers you that much. Jesus this is a bad representation of the controversy. J.K. Rowling is set to make Millions on this game through royalties and subsequent liscencing rights she has explicitly stated that A) her money and time will be used to fund Anti-trans Activism, Legislation and infrastructure. And B) that purchases of this game will be taken as statements of support of her.
The money from this game affects me in the country In which I and J.K. happen to live. She currently is using her wealth to harm me and my options in healthcare and the perception of me by my peers. If you think that is not cause enough to be angry at her and by extension to people knowingly stoking the flames, then I don’t know what more it should take.
So your solution is to attack everyone but her, cementing you as a villain in the eyes of the public and driving them to support Rowling and whatever anti-agenda she has. Sounds like a smart plan!

You forgot to add in Hogwarts Legacy theres a shofar (a Jewish musical instrument). It's described in-game as a goblin artefact used during the Goblin Rebellion of 1612 to annoy wizards and witches.
1612 also coincides with the real life massacre of Jews in 1612-1616.

Rowling isn't involved with the production of the game at all.
Boycotting the game is punishing the team who put a lot of energy and passion into making Hogwarts Legacy. I find the argument that the team was already compensated to be flippant and hollow when their success is tied to the success of the game overall.
