    My dad owned one of the original loftness timber axes on an ASV RC100 and the ASV could NOT handle it. It had hydraulic issues at least once a day. The takeuchi TL150 with the supertrak kit was able to handle it much better. It's nice to see how far ASV and loftness have come.

    This afternoon, I did part of the assembly on one of those mulchers on my first day working at Loftness! One of the reasons I applied to work there in the first place was videos like this showing the quality of machines produced right here in little Hector, Minnesota. I'm proud to be there and appreciate the video. Thanks!

    My only experience with Loftness equipment was while looking at 3 point snowblowers. They always impressed me with the quality of their build then. I’m sure that the mulched are of the same ruggedness!

    Wow....those machines are AWESOME !! the only problem I can see is if I bought one for my own property I would have my 80 acres in great shape in a week or two , and I wouldn't need it for a few years !
    Great Products , I'm trying to figure out how I can convince the Mrs... It would be nice to have ANOTHER "Battle Ax " around here ( husband humor 😉 )
    Good Video Brock !!

    You weren’t kidding about going to have fun!! Great field trip!! as I have mentioned I have a battle Axe on a Kubota 75SVL HI-flow machine and it is awesome to say the least! You will have to get one soon. The only trying times I’ve had with it is when I have found some stranded cable, hog wire, barbed wire, metal post, engine blocks etc. etc. It takes a while to cut it all out as the drum won’t stop until it is wrapped completely up 😡😳. I’ve learned to really walk the areas that I’m mulching to look for hazards such as those. GREAT video!! 👍

    Everyday you’re getting better and better with editing and video quality. Keep up the good work Brock.
    You get any better at these videos and you’re going to make me start up a company of my own! Haha.
    Actually you turned me on to skid steers. I own a 3046r cab tractor and absolutely have the fact I can’t see what I’m doing while doing grading work with the bucket, or the forks, or the snow plow or the stump bucket… well you see where I’m going with this haha. So, I’ll be selling it and trading up to a skid steer soon.
    Take care buddy! Hope your grandson is taking good care of his pet frog hahaha

    The one thing I wish you could have covered was the amount of heat these mulcher build in the huydrlic system. Most of the name brand machines it will void the warranty if you don't have an external cooler if your running a mulcher. ASV is the only one I know of that runs a large enough cooling system to where you don't have to add an external cooler.

  • @marvindiamonjr.9631
    @marvindiamonjr.9631 Před 2 lety +1

    I've got years of work making trails to access all of my property. If I had one of those, it would be over and done in no time. Then what would I do? I'm just rationalizing because I can't afford a skid steer and a mulcher. If I could, I'd do it in a heartbeat! It's hard to believe what can be done with machines like this. Maybe someday...

  • @anthonyg6924
    @anthonyg6924 Před 2 lety

    I'd like to hear and see mulching attachments that are rated for lower flow hydraulic like what's on 20-40 hp tractors.
    My experience is that it's hard to find that niche market.....but somebody must be doing it.

    Brock, I hate to say it but I may have to stop watching your videos. After most of them my thoughts go something like this " Dang, I could use one of those!" After a few minutes "But that would ruin my retirement plans and the funding for them...". Just kidding, partly, I will keep watching and you do an amazing job with your videos!

  • @threepointservices-tractor4832

    I thought the main benefit, of a mulcher, was the ability to grind below grade. Does the type of teeth, determine the practicality of below grade contact, or are mulchers not the best tool to remove roots, and small stumps.

    • @genewilliams7497
      @genewilliams7497 Před 2 lety

      Yes they can and will grind below grade, but…….. At the expense of tooth life. Ground contact dulls and reduces the tooth life of ANY cutting tooth period. You will just have to turn them and sharpen them more often if you are going below grade very often is all.

    • @threepointservices-tractor4832
      @threepointservices-tractor4832 Před 2 lety

      @@genewilliams7497 I was trying to compare the mulcher, to a power rake types device, and understand the pros and cons. If I could only afford to buy one, which would be most beneficial.

    What about all the stumps that are left? Trees are down now you have 1000 little stumps.

    • @RockhillfarmYT
      @RockhillfarmYT  Před rokem

      Not necessarily. You can grind it down below grade if you want
      Also, anything that removes a tree leaves a stump…
      I also have a stump grinder

    Is the light version standard flow?

    • @RockhillfarmYT
      @RockhillfarmYT  Před 2 lety +1

      No, the L series it is designed to be used high flow. One thing he explained to me that I don’t know if we covered in the video is that they can set the mulchers up for different flow rates But I think it needs to be designated high flow so it has a case drain?
      About 20 minutes into the video we switched from the Badlax to the Timberax which is an older design but still worked really well.
      Those were designed before they really started making these high flow machines so I think that one does not require high flow and still worked great
      All this is my understanding from asking questions. I’m no expert and I don’t want to give you wrong information

    • @charlesbessenbach6252
      @charlesbessenbach6252 Před 2 lety

      So does that mean your 325 is high flow? I didn't realize they came with a high flow option.
      I'm trying desperately to get out of interior remodeling and switch to dirt/land work. Trying to decide what machine to focus on.

    • @RockhillfarmYT
      @RockhillfarmYT  Před 2 lety +1

      Yes it is high flow. “High flow“ is different on different machines. I’m at 32 GPM which is actually really good for this size machine. the other machine in this video is 45 GPM which is top of the line on a 120 hp machine
