- In our second of the series of @TomScottGo and @mattandtom riping-offing, we tried out the newer game - "Two Of These People Are Lying", where the contestants try to convince me about obscure railroad trivia. And apparently the RGS had a goat on staff; who would've guessed.

I actually knew the answer to this one from a passage from Mallory Hope Ferrell’s book “Silver San Juan”.
There we actually two goats named Billy and Blondy. You can read about them on page 204 in that book. They were purchased by W D Lee in 1910.
The South African Railways hired a Baboon named Jack to be a switchman. The baboon was paid twenty cents a day, and half a bottle of beer each week and he never made a single mistake so I mean...
I knew of the baboon :)
oh yeah speaking of that SAR had some Giagantic 3' 6" gauge locomotives
@@IndustrialParrot2816 And the largest 2ft narrow gauge locos. We still have a SAR Class 91 in the heritage fleet.
4 dudes sitting in a roundhouse throwing limes at each other is something I didn't know I needed in my life
Also every last one of yall needs lime for the gay switches
There’s gotta be a whole comedy movie franchise about the RGS 👌
Hello again Mr. Possum...I can wholeheartedly agree.
The Roundhouse and Wreckreaton, a blend between The Office and Parks and Rec?
POLL
Oh gods, I could totally see that as a 60's sitcom on the level of Gilligan's Island or M.A.S.H. I suspect the only reason they didn't do that was 1. filming a weekly TV show with real trains on location in Colorado was too expensive, and 2. half the situations the RGS found themselves in were too ridiculous to believe.
@@sirrliv You need to sell HBO on a darker and grittier version set in a dystopian alternate history - they might go so far as to build reproduction rolling stock and re-lay track for authenticity.
It’s packed full of foam “ahh 844!!!” “I just want to ReStoRe iT AnD RuN iT oN ThE mAiNLiNe!”
Shit had me rollin 🤣🤣🤣
I can’t tell if it’s just general improv or if it’s referencing something specific
Presumably UP 844, an FEF-3 class locomotive, a 4-8-4 northern type
It’s a joke, making fun of people who say “they should restore it and run it on the mainline”
@@TheBeeMan1994 I am a member of that group lol
Episode 2 of Hyce and the gang in 3/4 Idiots!...I love this series.
Also, can the members get a chance to compete?
We'll see what we can organize :)
After the last video, and then hearing the goat story, I don't think I'll ever be surprised about the RGS ever again.
Oh I'm sure the RGS has plenty more tricks up it's sleeves
Leighton is definitely the Gary Brannan of the group. Brett is probably the Chris Joel. But I like how Eric doesn't have perfect Matt Gray energy but is a little more animated.
I just discovered these videos in your channel. I'm a former passenger conductor on a regional shortline that (at the time) only did passengers. The four of you sitting around BS'ing like the rail geeks/goons so many railroaders are brings back some of the best memories of my life. (And I laugh myself stupid too)
THANK YOU!
Cheers Jason! We're all the same variety of broken... lol
Uintah has some crazy things such as derailments to Baxter curve to last surviving engine {Ex. F&CC 2-8-0} #12 to Achee's "Shop Built" shay 7 which was just made from using Shays 1,3, and 4 parts and pieces so its a kitbash of a shay. too lone coach 50 being pulled by 0-6-2T 20/21 to what ever
RGS 20 and Uintah 12, use to be own by Florence & Cripple Creek Railroad, so technically. they are related. Plus D&RGW 315 and 318 are Ex. F&CC engines
Postwar France looked like the RGS rolled through (especially the front line track!)
Who else thinks we need a podcast that is just them telling random crazy railroad stories
POV: it’s the big sad and you have to turn to hiring goats to keep your Railroad going.
I can’t wait to see more of these about the RGS
I love these type of videos. I always enjoy a bunch of friends just hanging out with a general purpose for the video. You always have some the funniest interactions between a group of friends when they're just hanging out. I want more not going to lie.
Please keep doing these and the citation needed too, they are the best two videos I've seen in weeks
These aren't uncommon. They have a traditional name... They're referred to as the "Judasgoat" which is any animal that both walks into, and out of the slaughterhouse leadng other animals that walk in, but are not walking when they eventually leave...
Oh boy, here come the hooting laughs!
Damn, that choo choo appearing behind you guys was spooky! Eric is fantastic, keep him!
three quarters in search of a fifth is fantastic and i will be sad if it doesn't happen
only about 30% of this episode is actual gameplay and it's absolutely amazing lol
The other 70% being Leighton talking about sheep? Lol
@@Hyce777 sheep and movie references, yes lmao
I think Tom Scott and the Technical Difficulties would be proud! Can't wait til the lot of yous guys play this together! I'm calling it! I want to see the cross-pond collab happen!
This is solid gold! 🤣🤣 The sheep explanation, the goat, and the surprise choo choo.
This is such a fun series, gotta keep it up! Great work! ❤️❤️❤️
I truly hope you guys can keep this up as a series, these games are very fun to watch! I really loved TechDiff but I binged it and now I’m sad.
Little late to the party, but better late than never I suppose
Love watching y'all have a good time like this, it's a good laugh for sure. I do have a question about this game though. With the 'hot shot' clue, what would happen if two people accidentally told the truth? One mentions the D&S (I think) loco and the other mentions the fast priority train? Call a tie and both get a point? Or draw another card for sudden death between them?
I had once a smart sheep, Mr. Leighton. It figuered out that if she jumped over the fence, witch she did like a horse would do, she would be in a closed off part of the field, where here babies wouldn't annoy her for her milk and also that there are fresh potts growing there and its all for her alone. ;)
Seems legit
Goat should have been named Judas, that is what most call them. Lots of old packers or stockyards use a goat or a jackass to lead cattle/sheep onto the trailer or into the kill floor of a packing plant.
And God bless Timken. I have packed more than enough plain bearings and boxings on old farm equipment.
YES! this is awesome and (whistle toot) hilarious Great way to start my day I was laughing so hard and smiling like an idiot this was awesome keep it up Hyce!!!
Was this recorded right after the rgs got snowed in and moved an entire town up a mountain. And is it possible to watch the cut content
There are now two story’s that involved snowed in trains
Yup, we recorded like 5 or 6 of these in a row, I will be releasing them in order.
The cut content - there isn't really much, lol, you're getting almost all of it. ES&D conductors will probably get one extra episode and a gag reel.
Dang 5 or 6 of them at least I’m surprised that they weren’t called the snow mountain narrow gauge railroad
I will now forever call a turned switch a "Gay Switch".
0:41 "He likes to off-road in locomotives"
Wait what? That's not how trains are supposed to work!
Indeed, indeed... Lol!
The RGS story’s really could be a TV show
Youre such a chill dude and well versed in railroading.
Eric's reaction to the gay switches joke was fantastic (and so is he).
Just as funny as Tom's, but far more wacky (thanks RGS!)
I recently stumbled across an old animated Timken roller bearing commercial. It is comedy gold.
We need to see brent's lego trains
Hyce, please keep making more of these, these videos are amazing!!
"ya gotta oil your sheep before you stick it in"
really, huh, where'd you learn that?
We need more!
Omg I have to say you guys just took a big step up from last time I was laughing so hard watching this video.
You guys are so funny and able to make jokes about everything and anything combined with facts 😂
It's amazing Mark.
I'm so looking forward to the next video of 3/4 of a idiot 😜😂
I noticed the large bead blasting cabinet in the background. I was wondering what grit do you use when bead blasting locomotive parts?
19:50 My nickname at daycare was Rocket Ass. I got it after my parents tried feeding me prunes. I think you can tell where this is going...
Hotshot was used into the 1960s in Utah for some intermodal trains. Usually used the 6900 Centennial locomotives.
So Darn good Mark I really enjoy those and look forward to more! When do you think the next one will be? Thanks man!😊
Weekend / next week ish
@@Hyce777 ok cool thanks man. Hey is there anyway we could message on favebook any time soon? I don’t think I can get Discord to work.
“You can tell it’s a sheep by the way that it is” Why is this kinda funny? Also May I add the A-44. That’s so funny
No wonder why the RGS had no money they spent it all on the chewing tobacco for the goat.
25:29 and the "ooOOORE?" in-joke are eerily close to whatever the TechDif guys are doing at czcams.com/video/ltVtHNJcp9o/video.html xD I'll put my tinfoil hat on for that one, thank you very much! ;)
We need more of these videos! these are fantastic!
This very entertaining keep it loving all the knowledge and and the history you guys are giving out
Hi Hyce. Loving the videos you make. Please Please PLEASE make more like these Loco vid's. These are Fabulous! I enjoy watching your videos.
Thank god I had just gone because that 3/4 of an idiot searching for our 5th would have made me pee myself while laughing. That was great.
I remember some of the old timers who talked about a goat that lead the other live stock up to the kill floor of the south Omaha stock yards. the goat in question did receive pay and was regarded as a employee.
Two questions I randomly have:
1. Does the 491 (peaches) have a green boiler jacket?
2. Can the geared engines Tokyo drift?
1:11 Leighton uses his mind powers to dodge a lime to the face
1. Yes
2. I'd suppose so, but only so far... Those U joints only have so much play
@@Hyce777 I now have plans I cannot share, or the FRA will come after me
They all sound like bird mating calls
dude i love this i hope they do more!
I frigging love these, haven't laughed this much in while
I have a goat and I can confirm that this is physically possible
Edit: no, I actually have six
16:00 I just lost it at that point XD
"IT NOW SAYS DENVER!" -Hyce 2022
@@irongamertd6154 And the "elephant in the room" XD
the wyoming comment, I took that personal....lmao
my stomach, it hurts from so much laughing
Can confirm goats are awesome, theres no good reason to not have a goat.
Did you know that Belgium had a QUADROPLEX
What
@@Hyce777 yes, I will find an image and private message you in discord the picture
Weird I thought hotshot was a common saying. It's still used in trucking for an express carrier.
OMG, you guys are a riot and a half. 🤣🤣🤣🤣🤣
I hope there's gonna be more of these, but I'm not sure I'll survive them.
There will be at least a few more... ;)
@@Hyce777 noice!
Goats have been used to load up sheep to take to slaughter for years. These goats are called Judas goats.
I worked with the hotshot at the D&S and she is a good engine. It has a odd 2 chime horn tho.
Omg I’m dead on this one I’ve gotta come out to Colorado and meet y’all especially Eric cause ohhh he cute 😅😅😂😂😂💀
"...but he deserves an apology." Nice!
This is awesome, made my day!
I'm watching this in class and I'm trying not to laugh
Love the video hyce.
MMM THIS IS A SPOICY MEATBALL.
LIKE FOR ONE MEATBALL!
My goats are great, I haven't mowed the lawn since I moved in 7 years ago! Plus, milk. And super cute bouncy babies. I've wanted to rig up a pushcart and tie them to it and see if they would eat my ROW.
Is journal pad from Craig Cootsona's company?
I don't believe we've used Craig's company yet. I'm not sure though. We will likely do so in the future.
Next episode should be called “3/4+1/4 idiots play _________”
Next episode the limes get dipped in crater grease
That's truly evil
Great Video! Goat Simulator when??? :)
give Us MORE!!!!!!!!!
Personally, I would have assumed that goats would be employed to remove lineside vegetation
I could probably listen to a video of you all just talking about the shit on the RGS for a couple hours
25:30 who the hell let the crows into the roundhouse
Parrots, same difference.
I love this
Train Goat simulator lol nice
You guys are so and I mean so funny to funny in fact lol
9:53 let’s not forget (I think) Eric’s gay.😂
Laughed out loud as soon as you mentioned the part of a locomotive you can't name on CZcams. Know exactly what you're talking about.
unintelligible Chicken Scratch?
5:17 is he anti roller bering
Off roading inlocomotives? Care to explain Mr Morreland?
He ran peewee off end of track.
@@Hyce777 Oh lord. PISS TEST!
This was staged because Hyce obviously knows everything.
His hand died (in the thumbnail)
Just do a podcast at this point
No this is more fun
Both would be fun imo
Hows 20 doing?
Getting plenty of engine work at the moment.
@@Hyce777 good
ah yes wyoming where men are men and sheep are scared
Oh no their now even more broke, to the point they now hire animals
This is great, and the added juxtaposition of this comedy show being filmed in an 𝘢𝘤𝘵𝘪𝘷𝘦 𝘳𝘢𝘪𝘭𝘳𝘰𝘢𝘥 𝘴𝘩𝘰𝘱 makes things even better.
Are you doing more railroads online
Maybe some day.
