I love watching these. I get such a sense of nostalgia for BotW. Frightening to think it came out six years ago.
11:34 I think of Side Adventures as Side Quests that aren't a fetch quest or just killing monsters. In BotW, "From the Ground Up" is the only side quest (I think) in that game that would fit as a Side Adventure in TotK. I distinguish them by Side Adventures being way more fun versions of Side Quests. 🤷♂
Yeah my understanding is that the adventures are just more detailed, longer quests
For me, side adventures are just the side quests that i want to do.
I sometimes think of them as quests that are yes, slightly bigger than fetch-quests, but also things that affect the story in some way (like the Hestu quest, which isn't that long)

I appreciated the comprehensive comparison of the significant finds in both BotW and TotK in each location. Lots of videos seem to only cover what's new, but I like to hear the reminders of what was there before, including simple bombable walls and memories. I also appreciated that you both referenced how you'd get there on footpaths as well as where they were on the map. Gives it a much greater sense of "place", if that makes any sense. Good stuff!

The "whole gladiator thing" with the lynels you get in the depths below the colosseum in the floating colosseum.
I def need to do a few episodes that focus on sky and depths at some point in this series. So far only focusing on the surface, but things like the colosseums, labrynths, temples of time, etc could all expand on what I'm doing here.
These videos are oddly relaxing, idk why but please keep on making them

Thank you for making such detailed comparisons. I remember as much as possible cause I pay attention to details, but some years passed by, and it’s impossible to remember everything, so this really means a lot to me. This is my favorite version of Hyrule, also because it kinda reminds me to the Spirit Tracks layout in some way, even though it was much simpler 💛💚🌀
I adore these videos! Sometimes they move a little quickly, making it a little harder to follow, but nothing re-watching doesn’t fix.
Are all of the Gloom Spawns you mention static? I’ve met, like, two of them? But from watching challenge videos, it does seem that even static ones can be inconsistent. So weird.

All the gloom spawns mentioned so far appear on the totk interactive map, so they should be static, but it's possible that the area they spawn from has a randomness to it so they don't always spawn in the EXACT same spot, but rather in a general location

About the identical shrines at Riverside stable, when you go into the memories (specifically the Geurdo Assault) you can see Zonai shrines in the same exact spots of the first 4 Sheikah shrines.
I love these! Makes me want to cartography the tears of the kingdom map like it did with the first legendary of Zelda
I’m not sure why, but the way you entered the ranch ruins at 12:47 made me see it as if it were Lon Lon Ranch in its prime state, mini Link and all.

there is still another korok in the abandoned farm, you gotta fiz the roof with the wood plank above the chest you mentioned. It is a nice detail!
I think the water in the bottomless pond got purified after Calamity Ganon was re-sealed. All the malice disappeared since he was gone.

... They-they built it. It got there the same way the Great Plateau fountain got to where it is. Maybe they're turning the Floret Sandbar into a park?

this is super later so i doubt you’ll see this but in the colosseum there’s one of the caves with misko’s treasure in it at the back of the ground floor, i forget specifically which tho

love this series. i'd like to see the gerudo canyon area done next, since the flooded zones after digdogg bridge stood out to me. correct me if i'm wrong but in totk temperatures reach extreme heat on the path as early as gerudo canyon pass, while in botw it didn't until the gerudo desert gateway. climate change hit hyrule.
There are definitely changes to extreme temperature boundaries. Ive not yet dived deep on the gerudo area, but that wouldnt surprise me. On the great plateau, temps reach freezing at a lower altitude than in botw. Multiple votes to see gerudo regions soon 😉

Why does your mic quality suddenly improve at 12:19?
My mic settings were messed up while i read the script, and I didn't realize until I went into editing mode. Instead of re-recording the whole thing (which, admittedly, I should have done) I only did some spot check re-takes over the worst parts during editing

Most definitely! I've just been taking waaaay too long to produce new episodes, but the plan is to do the entire surface map

Honestly ALL the Coluseum's are kind of dissapointing... There should at least be some mop up mobs in the stands on the Korok one that has a single Hinox...

Lolol yes. I had the settings all messed up and didnt realize until I read through my whole script and instead of starting over and re-rerecording, I started editing and did a few redos where the audio was worst. A bit lazy, but was also on a bit of a deadline. I'll make sure my settings are proper in the next one
