  • I'm not adventurous when it comes to food, but lately I've wanted to try new food, especially from other countries and I love India, so I thought I'd start with Indian food.

It Seems like you ordered Lamb Seekh kebab (in india that would be a mutton seekh kebab), the curled ones looked like the onion bhajji's. Unfortunately, what is known as Indian food in the west is from just the North West of India and represents just a small percentage of India's culinary landscape. The rest of the cuisines which are equally delightful are a little harder to find. Like one of your other members commented, a Biryani and a Masala Dosa would be a good window into some other cuisines in the South of India.

Pro Tip: in order to avoid spicy:
    1. order dishes with butter e.g.: butter chicken, dal makhani (dal means lentils and makhan means butter in Hindi language) etc.
    2. ask for Zero level spice _ yes, they can tune down the spicy level of your Indian food they have that possibility most of the times
    3. try having indian curd / yogurt or indian side dish Raita (yogurt based) beside you this instantly bring down the spicy level of any dish and is usually given with spicy dishes like biryani bcoz of this reason only ... one spoon of curd in mouth if you got too much spice on your tongue or you can order and have spis of mango lassi drink too that also cools and brings down spice level but curd/yogurt has extra benefit that it eases your stomach afterwards to so that you don't end up with delhibelly.

You can always get things firangi-spicy. But it should all have flavor, regardless.
Next time, use the serving spoons to put the food on your plate. Don't eat from a community bowl.

try Parle-G biscuit with milk or tea you'll love it also try cookies by indian company "Brittannia" (yes i know name doesn't seem indian haha but it is), Amul, Parle & Sunfeast brands and some chocolates too like 5star, Munch Cadbury Silk and you can step by step increase your spice tolerance level with the help of indian snacks with Blue packet india's magic masala lays and Red packet lays of india although we've named it as spanish tango flavour and after these you might try a little bit spicier Kurkure (indian cheetos) these come in varios color packets with different levels of heat you'll have to find your favourite among them.
